Jewelry Subscription Box September 2017

Jewelry Subscription is a monthly jewelry subscription service that sends one to three pieces of jewelry to you monthly. The number of items you receive is dependent on what plan you select.

When you join Jewelry Subscription, there is a quick survey that is provided to determine your “Jewelry Style Profile.” Styles range from classic to trendy to bold to conservative. You don’t have to necessarily select just one style; you can state that all styles apply to you so you get more of a variety of pieces! It also asks your ring size, what pieces you prefer not to get, your favorite colors, if you wear gold items, etc. This enables the curator to select something more personal for you. I opted to select bold because I am rather fond of big, statement pieces.

Also, this is not a jewelry rental service. You get to keep all the items selected for you!

I like the damask outer design on the boxes and was pleased to see how well and securely packed they were inside.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This review is for the Bold Style Jewelry Subscription Box, $32.99 a month, three piece plan.

Jewelry Subscription Box September 2017

The Subscription Box: Jewelry Subscription

The Cost: $19.95 for one piece per month or $32.99 for three pieces per month. Both provide free shipping.

The Products: One to three jewelry pieces (dependent on plan selected) ranging from classic to trendy styles. (The selections are personalized to me, so you may not get the same items as I did.)

Ships to: U.S only for free. Ships the 1st and 15th of each month.

Good to Know: In addition to Jewelry Subscription’s $19.95 one piece plan and their $32.99 three piece plan, the service offers two other subscription programs: Special Occasion and Lux Ring Box subscriptions. The Special Occasions subscription allows you to select six special occasions where three items are sent to you at those times. The Lux Ring Box subscription is $24.99 monthly and sends you one hand-picked ring each month that is of at least a $75 retail value!

Bohemian Gold Tone Chandelier Necklace, N/A Size (retail value unlisted)

When I initially saw this necklace, I was not terribly fond of the style. I was put off with the long length design because I felt it may get lost on my chest. Upon trying it on, I actually liked it, but it still isn’t necessarily my style. I paired it with a faded charcoal maxi dress, but this would go great with a floral peasant top and biker jacket this fall.

I am concerned about the quality of this piece. The chain is on the thin side and the gold plating on the charm part of the necklace seems to be a bit worn or chipped in parts.

The slight black spot/ flaw on the back is more obvious upon better inspection and I would not have noticed it unless I had flipped it over, but it is there. This could be a fluke with this piece since the rest of the pieces were in decent shape.

Ruby-esque Cocktail Ring, N/A size (retail value unlisted)

This might be my favorite piece of this September box. It makes me think of the show, Dynasty from the 80s. I feel like I should be tossing enemies into a pool while wearing this and a shoulder-padded blazer. I like bold pieces and love to wear rings on multiple fingers, so this will work its way into my jewelry collection well. The ring band is gold plated but has yet to irritate my finger; which is incredibly pleasing.

Retro Garnet Style Flower Earrings, N/A size (retail value unlisted)

These delicate post earrings sparkle beautifully; the pictures I took of them don’t do them justice in how they sparkle. The quality is fair and they did not irritate my ears when wearing them like some costume jewelry does. I love that the earrings are demure, yet add a touch of glitz to anyone’s everyday wardrobe.

Verdict: This month’s September Jewelry Subscription box had a few bumps in the road; I had one piece that had a blemish on it, but I did come out of this box with a ring I really like. Getting three pieces of jewelry for $32.99 is fairly reasonable, especially with the shipping being included in the cost. The first month 50% off promo makes it worth trying out as well! That price is comparable to a lot of department stores like JC Penney and Kohl’s price points for costume jewelry. I am interested to see what is selected for me next month and how it will fit my style profile.

I’m so glad I stumbled across your review!!! I have been a subscriber to Jewelry Subscription for at least 6 months now. I learned that if there was anything in the monthly package that didn’t meet with your taste, or..like in this case, you found a flaw, all you have to do, is email Lisa (yes, I feel like I’m on a first name basis with her now. She is amazing!) and with your next box, she will replace the defective piece. My issue that I had, was the bracelet wasn’t to my liking at all. So I sent her an email, and in my next order, I had an extra bracelet to replace the one that did fit my taste. Within the 6 months, I haven’t had any issues of any of the plating chipping off or irritating my skin (and I’m a natural red head with that cursed sensitive skin). So send an email. Give her a chance! She has amazing customer service! She won’t let u down. I promise you!

Rachel,

Yes! Lisa is pretty great and has reached out to me like you said she did with you. The customer service really does make them stand apart from other subscription boxes! I am glad you have been enjoying Jewelry Subscription Box, Rachel!

The pieces look are fun looking. I m concerned about the quality looks like if someone wore them a week or wore the ring while washing their hands the ring the gold plate might come almost completely off

could easily change colors.

How does this box compare to bijoux box? It’s almost the same price as it. The bijoux box has great quality pieces. Some pieces from that box I ‘ve had for years and still wear them. I also like that putting designers jewelry in the box.

I still miss jewel mint

Hey Lily,

I have never myself tried Bijoux box, but some of my peers have: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/category/your-bijoux-box-reviews

The nice thing about Jewerly Subscription box is the owner, Lisa, is very devoted to her customers and provides great customer service. So, if you get a piece you don’t like; she is willing to work with you! I would say to at least try them out and their 50% off first month deal– it is worth it!
