I was literally typing in my CC# when the spoiler came and I abandoned the cart. I own several watches but since I received my dream watch for a bday years ago I never wear anything else. If this is the hero item and everything else is filler, I might as well skip it. Too bad, I was very eager to get this box as a Xmas present to me. The Purple box was IMHO a joke. I understand that some people may be willing to spend several hundred dollars on a votive holder, but I’d rather buy a painting or an antique piece of jewelry for the $. It’s ironic, every time I look at past boxes of theirs I think “I would have liked that purse or cashmere shawl” and then every time I decide to sub, the spoilers are so disappointing I give up. Oh well. More $ for advent calendars:-)

Could someone explain to me how opting out works? If I indicate I don’t want the watch, will they substitute a different item of similar value?

Click the link below. It will open google document. Scroll down, complete the form, then check “opt out” box. Then submit.

You can opt out, but they make no guarantees about substituting an item of the same value. Their items are hugely disparate in value, and you could wind up with something worth several hundred dollars less.

Remember, they are only promising “$700+”.

Dear Raquel,

Please note that the link you mentioned is just for a different box ( Purple Box) and not related to any spoilers.

I saw its just that they had in their page and it appear news! Purple Box ,so as they say about two items that will be in the box,I assumed it was spoilers .
The Kathryn McCoy votive candle.
The second is Evocateur’s jewelery, they do say about it in the link.
Just trying to be helpful.

I opted out. It’s too big and too heavy for me. Waiting for 2nd spoiler..

Ah, I can opt out, yah!

I’m not thrilled. I don’t wear a watch, won’t ever wear a watch, don’t have anyone to give this watch. I didn’t see the opt out option, which sucks.

Yes you can opt out… click the form and you will see opt out as an option for where you select the watch you want. 🙂

Are there any current subscribers willing to order a box for me (shipped to my mailing address) with the $100 coupon code? Not sure if members can buy multiple, but I would love to get this box! I’m happy to Venmo or PayPal transfer $170 for the payment!

Thanks, Lisa

Thank you ladies, all fair points in your feedback! I’ll just order the box 📦

Jennifer

If someone is willing to do that for you, you need to add the PayPal fee to the total because PayPal charges the recipients of funds. So, you might as well pay the $195.

Cristina

I though PayPal only charges if you receive money as a result of selling something (like from Ebay). I’ve had coworkers pay me for lunch through PayPal and I was never charged extra. They don’t charge for money sent for personal reasons, is this not true anymore?

Hmm been trying to find info on this watch brand but there is very little out there so far. I found some for a couple hundred but no reviews yet. 🙂

This might be like the Invicta watches, they are RV like $800 but they are ALWAYS going for like $100 or so.

I’m tempted yet again to get one of these boxes. lol I have a Tag already so not sure I would get much use out of the watch.

If you google Empress Valois watch you get a ton of results. Seems like they’re mostly going for $650-$700, so still a pretty great deal.

In my google search popped up an older offer from groupon where the watch was offered for $129

Anna

A similar watch or maybe the same on alone is on Groupon is for $379.

I love this watch. Even if I hate everything else in the box, I’d be happy to get this watch for that price.

Britany Chamberlain

I agree!

I love 5th Avenue Style, but am seriously questioning where they came up with this value. Groupon currently has the same watch for $129.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I feel like the pricing economics that would allow the watch to be sold at $129 in a Groupon are the same factors that would permit it to be 25% of a $200 subscription box. Obviously, the SRV is inflated and the markup is high, but that’s true for most of the products we get in these boxes. If this were the anchor product for a $500 box, I don’t think I’d bite, but the watch plus 3-4 other products seems fair at this price point.

Yeah, 1400.00 is a joke. It isn’t worth a fraction of that. It’s cute, but that’s all.

Lauren

I greatly await seeing the effect an item allegedly worth 1400$ has on the swap boards.

Anna

haha me too

What The color differences I can’t seem to tell

Anna

for the similar ones, it’s rose gold vs gold if that helps

I’ve had had a very good experience with them so far. Got the Purple Box and they were very communicative when the box was delayed and it ended up being an almost 100% great box. There was only one item in there that wasn’t a great present (we used everything in the box as presents for the ladies that work in the office) , so that piece is in a drawer with random gifts for some other time 🙂 This one looks amazing too, glad I got it. This will make a great present too.
