The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.

Vegan Cuts Beauty August 2017 Green Beauty Subscription Box

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Vegan Cuts Beauty, $22.95 a month, box.

Each Vegan Cuts Beauty Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that month. This month's theme is "Serene Beauty."

William Roam Sense Body Lotion (1.5 fl oz) – Value $4.93 (buy 7.6 fl oz for $24.99)

I haven’t used body lotion in awhile – nothing against it, it’s just me being lazy. I tried this out on my legs last night and wow, were they dry. Even though this is quite thick, my skin soaked it up. The container is basically an open (plastic) jar with a screw-top lid, which is probably not the best way to dispense such a product, but the full sized product has a pump. This did have a fragrance but it was something warm and not particularly fruity or floral, so I liked it.

Sade Baron Fresh Lux Body Mist (2 fl oz, full size!) – Value $10

I’ll be honest, I have a ton of body mists moldering away in my stash because this is not a type of product I generally use. However, this has neroli, ylang ylang, and bergamot, and it smells really, really good, so I will be using this! It also has a bit of witch hazel for toning benefits and the scent layers nicely with the body lotion.

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil (0.25 fl oz) – Value $2.25 (buy 2 fl oz for $17.99)

Yep, this definitely smells like rose (but the scent doesn’t linger). This was quite effective as step one in a two-step cleansing routine (i.e., for removing makeup). I would consider buying this in full size. I do wish the sample had been larger, though – this was pretty tiny.

Saiva Brightening Facial Serum (0.5 fl oz) – Value $24 (buy 1 fl oz for $48)

A lip balm from this brand was listed on the information card but I received this serum instead. I’m honestly more excited about a serum than a lip balm, so the switch worked out for me. This is an oil based serum with papaya oil, rosehip oil, cucumber oil, rice bran oil, and green tea seed oil. It didn’t play nicely with something else in my evening skincare routine (I got pilling of something on my face) so I am going to try it in the morning. (This is not a problem with this particular product, just with the combination I currently use. Shifting time of use usually solves such issues for me.) This has tons of antioxidants, which is something I love to see in skincare.

100% Pure Gemmed Lip Gloss in Moonstone (full size!) – Value $26

100% Pure products are hit or miss for me. This product line has bits of semi-precious gemstone in it for glimmer; I am not sure if variations were possible, but mine had moonstone. The pigment here is from fruit and is quite light (doesn’t really show up on its own on my lips) but it did create an interesting effect over a lip stain and was nicely moisturizing, so I’d say this was one of the hits.

Here is a swatch of the lip gloss. I had to pile it on to get it to show up here, so it was kind of sticky. On my lips, it was pretty wearable over a lip stain, though.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $67.18 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is a really good value for a vegan, natural beauty box. I thought it was great that there were two pretty high value items (the serum and the lip gloss), and I thought the sample sizes were good, for the most part (the Derma E was kind of tiny, though I did get several uses out of it so far and it’s not all gone yet). Overall, this was a solid month for me.

I get both the snack and beauty box sent to me, and they come in two separate boxes, with no pink bag.

Not sure why you get two boxes. Back before Vegan Cuts sent this to me, I was also getting both, in the one box. But, the pink bag is only to keep the beauty items together and to keep them from mixing with the snacks.

I’m liking this box. Sorry I missed it. Could use some serums and oils….

Sometimes they sell past boxes in their shop, or mystery boxes that contain a lot of items from past boxes. MSA usually posts about it.
