The info card mentions the monthly featured pin artist, along with a little bio. August's artist is Bri Bulski of Little Arrow in Eugene, OR. Reading her story makes me love her already!
The other side has retail values for the included treasures.
Ice Cream Cross-Body Bag - Value $5.67
What a sweet treat of a bag this month! This reminds me of the same spirit of the milk carton bag that came with the first box in June. While it isn't my personal style, it surely brought a smile to my face when I opened the box!
The bag is made of a pleather material and is a simple black on the back.
The gold chain strap has a 23" drop, so you can easily wear this as intended, as a cross-body purse. The cone measures 9" high by about 6" wide.
It has a zipper closure so that nothing's going to fall out while you skip to your nearest ice cream parlour for a swirl cone that matches your newest accessory.
Beauty Junky Lush Lips Vanilla Lip Balm - Value $4.42
You've heard me complain about all the lip balm I receive in subscription boxes, but this one gets a pass based on character!
This balm stands out against a sea of boring cylindrical tubes with its diamond shape and metallic gold color.
The balm itself is surprisingly moisturizing for a novelty balm and smells like sugary vanilla. Yum.
Flamingo Bottle Opener - Value $1.99
They've included this sturdy metal flamingo to help you open that bottle of summer sour beer.
This long-legged bird stands 4" tall and his feet are the ones doing the heavy lifting.
Just flip it upside down to get the job done.
Little Arrow Enamel Pin - Value $10
Honestly, the pin is always my favorite part of Quirky Crate, and this time they did NOT disappoint.
This pin is HUGE at 2" across and over 1" high. It also happens to say "Magical as f***", which is pretty much how I feel on a good day. Not only does this enamel pin have a pretty pastel rainbow, but it's also a glittery rainbow at that. And hooray for having a double-pin back for this oversized magic. I love me some swears.
Lipstick Patch - Value $4.26
I also love embroidered patches, and this one is probably my favorite that they've sent. I freaking love lipstick and all lip products, so this patch speaks to me.
The pink and blue colors will pop against my crummy old dirty jean jacket that I intend to affix this to.
Bryt Rainbow Socks - Value $11.47 USD
Well well well- look at these fancy socks! Looking at Bryt's website makes me understand that this is a perfect items for Quirky Crate. They are a British brand the initially got their start via Kickstarter.
I love that they've included a pair of high socks! They are super bright and made from a soft combed cotton. I kind of wish they included an even zanier pair like these, but I will take these rainbow stripes with no complaints. Do you all get the same socks?
Sweet Teeth Necklace - Value $16
I shrieked when I saw there was a tooth item in this month's box. I collect all sorts off tooth-themed things and even have a bunch of friend's and family's actual teeth or teeth molds.
This necklace is made of laser-cut plexi teeth on a light gold chain. The center tooth is a mirrored gold with a lil rhinestone on it! The chain drops about 10", so it's long enough to take on and off without fastening.
Double Bubble and Smarties
As always, we have the candy included. The third month in a row for smarties, so that must be standard, but this time I got a double bubble as well. 🙂
Verdict: Quirky Crate makes me so happy when I see it arrive. I can't always rock every accessory they send, due to my generally subdued bland look, but know that each item I take out fills me with joy. The pin and patch were my favorite part of the box, and I thought they socks were a higher quality than in the past. I'll definitely get use out of the lip balm and bottle opener, but I will be passing the purse on to someone with a more fun style. The only bummer is that they still over-value a lot on their info card compared to what I find online. I came up with a value of $53.81, while they say the total value is $67.75. Since the box costs $40.94, it's still worth it, in my opinion.
