Play! by Sephora Subscriptions Window Extended for August!

Exciting news! Typically, you have to sign up the month before to get the next month’s Play! by Sephora box, but for the August box, Sephora has extended the subscription window!

If you sign up for Play! by Sephora before the 15th, your first box will be the August box!

  1. I literally have been emailing back and forth with them, they will NOT send you the August bag if you sign up right now up to the 15th (as advertised on the subscription page.) They just keep telling me I didn’t sign up in time and that I’ll receive September. I am BEYOND frustrated with Sephora at this point. Fair warning, ladies!!!!! If you want to get the August box your outta luck because they will NOT send it to you!

    • Yea why would they make a special point of saying that you have until the 15th to sign up for August but then when you sign up on 11th they tell you you’re too late?Could Liz or someone who has a connection to Sephora find out what’s going on for us please? Thanks

    • I had the same problem and went back and forth with cs. One person said yes another person said no but today it updated and it shows they are sending an August box, #122.

      A crappy box that once again, doesn’t match profile but I wanted the beauty blender so it’s not a big deal.

    • Yeah, I signed up for a 2nd account to grab this promo, and then they ended up charging and sending my Aug box on my main account as well after TWO separate CS agents said I would not be getting it, nothing I could do, just out of luck (because my billing got messed up for two whole days when someone stole my CC#) The customer service is out of hand.

  2. How do you know which box they’re sending you? I actually canceled last month so I already have the July box. I just resuscribed today because i really want august box.

  3. This was the case with this box last month too. I re-signed up like third week of July well after Liz posted her full on review for her box and I still got the July box (a couple days later) which surprised me because I thought for sure I was getting August.

  5. So I just called customer service and she said the promotion was for July not August. Tho she did sound unsure…

      • Even though its on there they still wont send it to you. I keep getting the same message that I didn’t sign up in time. The window is open until August 15th, I signed up on the August 11th.

  6. I signed up yesterday and it says nxt billing date 9.1.17 so does that mean I’m not getting August box?

    • I’m pretty frustrated with Sephora. I know this sounds petty but I’ve placed 2 online orders in the past month. They allow you to pick 3 samples which I did. Both times, I didn’t get a single sample I asked for. They were completely random. If they’re going to send random samples, don’t ask what I want! I would be hesitant to believe you will get the August box if you sign up now.

  9. I signed up yesterday for my first box and it would be great to get the august box. I hope it works out that way!

    • Same thing here. I resubscribed yesterday, and now I’m not sure if my first box will be the August box or not, because yesterday it didn’t say that I would be getting the August box 🙁 Nothing showing in my order history yet.

  10. Well, I’m pretty irritated with Sephora. My credit card # got stolen, and I had to get a new card ordered. It was a 3 day period that I didn’t have the new card #, and missed the billing. When I put the new card info in there (on the 7th), I contacted them, and they said I will not be receiving the box. Okay, lame, but whatever. Now I see this, so I call and say hey, since new subscribers have till the 15th, can’t I get my box? After a super long hold, they came back and said no. Seriously? How is the box available until the 15th for new subscribers, but I don’t have a card on file for 3 days, and I’m SOL? Bad customer service.

    • Could you cancel your subscription then sign back up? Just a thought.

      • What a way to treat loyal customers though? The point is that they should fix it, not make customers find loopholes.

    • I had the same thing happen a few months ago. I had got a new card and updated it quickly but they told me I will miss out on that month. The following month everything was processed as usual.

    • Same thing happened to me this month. Told I couldn’t get the box even after I put my new card in 3 times. Their system needs to be streamlined. And now they’re doing this. No thanks. I was only interested in one product and I ordered it but not through Sephora. See you later, it was nice. Honestly, Birchbox has been fabulous in their customer service.

      • I must add that I put my new card # in 3x prior to the deadline as I kept getting emails about it.

    • The same thing happened to me also. I called cs and asked them to Bill me for it and she says she did so i update my billing online too and that update charged me 1$. I had only put $11 on my prepaid card so the thieves couldn’t take my $$ again. Well customer service didn’t charge me while on the phone with me so that update i did that charged $1 made my subscription of $10.70 nite clear and they never notified me and all along I’m thinking my bag was on the way… But nope and i still haven’t got the stupid dollar back yet either
