The box came with this information card.

NaturalValue Sweet Potato Krisps (2.5 oz) – Value $2.47

These are made in the USA from just two ingredients: sweet potato and rice flour (so, while they are not grain free, they are wheat, corn, and soy free). These are light and airy – the bag is a standard size for a bag of dog treats, but the package weight is only 2.5 ounces. So these might be good for dogs with weight management issues.

Pridebites Pizza Slice – Value $9.99

We’ve had a lot of Pridebites toys in the past. They are supposed to float, but Rottweilers hate water so I haven’t had a chance to test that out. They have a foam core but they do also squeak. These last 2-3 play sessions for us before Nyx manages to put a hole in them. For a plush-type toy, that’s not too bad.

Pet Gift Box Movie Night Popcorn Toy – Value $8?

This is a Pet GiftBox branded item that isn’t available in their shop, so I had to estimate the cost (they do sell some past months’ boxes, if you are interested). It is a normal plush toy and it is a fine size for a large (or probably medium, also) dog. It did not last a super long time, but Nyx is a destructive chewer on a mission, so that is not surprising.

Loving Pets It’s Purely Natural Beef Jerky Bars (4 oz) – Value $6.01

I’ve seen a lot of treats from this brand in cat subscription boxes, but this may be the first time I’ve seen it for dogs. In general, I think this is a better offering for dogs than most of their cat treats are, for cats. These are single ingredient (beef) treats that are made in the USA, so they will be good for dogs with allergies to wheat, corn, soy, etc.

Exclusively Dog Carob Flavor Wafer Cookies (8 oz) – Value $2.84

These are vegetarian so if your dog has a specific protein allergy, they may still work, though the first ingredient is wheat flour (Nyx can’t have wheat, unfortunately). These are not very dense, so this bag is pretty generously sized with a lot of cookies. The cookies are suitable in size for a large dog or are pretty easy to break into pieces for smaller dogs.

Here are some shots of Nyx enjoying the pizza toy. (Yeah, I know her nails are long. I think it may be a side effect of one of her medications because we do address this with the vet periodically.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $29.31 for the July Pet GiftBox for dogs. That’s above the month-to-month cost of the box by a few dollars, and most of the items are widely available for repurchase if your dog likes them. A lot of the treats were allergy-friendly this month. The toys weren’t the most durable, but Pet GiftBox also offers PawPack, which they now market for heavy chewers, so there are options. Overall, I thought the curation was good, and Nyx did like the toys, even if they didn’t last super long.
