Each month, Doki Doki comes with an informative booklet that includes all you need to know about your items, a comic, a list of the prizes you can win, and social media highlights! This month's theme is "Back to School"! I always loved back to school shopping, so this box is sure to be a treat!

Vitamin Ballpoint Pen

Have you ever seen such a cute pen before?! This is unlike anything I have, which is hard to do since you all know what a pen freak I am. This cute little pink and white vitamin pill extends into a ballpoint pen. This is a great writing utensil to carry around in my smaller purses since it's so chubby and compact. The pen itself isn't anything too special, but the size really makes this one a winner.

Yume No Hoshi Ribbon

I recognize this type of bow from the standard Japanese school girl uniforms I've seen in movies and anime. This particular one is a Yume No Hoshi (Dream Star) ribbon which makes your wishes come true. I'm totally into having my dreams come true, so I popped this on with a striped button down shirt even though it kind of clashes. It's a shiny navy fabric with stars and constellations all over it to make a really cute pattern. The booklet says you can wear it in your hair, but the elastic band and clasp make it seem like it should be used as I have it above. I usually hate photos of myself, but really love this one, so I think it's already made my dreams of being photogenic come true! Arigato, Yume No Hoshi ribbon!!

Totoro Cup

OMG, everyone! I love Totoro so much, you do not even know!! I'm so excited to see a Totoro item this month! This pale yellow plastic cup is perfect for some morning coffee or juice with breakfast. I could even see taking it camping since it's really lightweight. There is a little loop beneath the handle, presumably for hanging on a hook to dry, or even attaching to a backpack while on a hike perhaps. It also came with a small tag, I think to write your name on so everyone knows not to touch!

Chun Chun Friends Plushie: Journey Version

The booklet says "Chun Chun Friends are a flock of little birdies who carry knapsacks and love adventure". Eeeeee, that sounds so adorable. I received a ducky version, though the one in the booklet looks to be a penguin. Either way, this yellow and white plush ducky is knocking me out with kawaii-ness with its little blue polka dot bandana (or I guess it's a knapsack?). It stands about 2.5 inches tall and almost as wide. What a cute new friend!

Cinnamoroll Letter Set

I am all too familiar with letter sets like these, especially Sanrio ones. I used to buy tons of them in high school because I had a bunch of pen pals all over the place and wanted to write them in kawaii-style. If you aren't familiar with Cinnamoroll, he's a shy puppy (WAT, I thought he was a rabbit for years until I just looked him up to be sure!) with floppy ears and a tail that curls like a cinnamon roll. This letter set includes four envelopes, eight sheets of paper, and some stickers to seal the deal. The motif of this set falls in line with the character, having pretzels, muffins, donuts, and coffee scattered about the page (he is the mascot of a cafe). Excited to use this set!

Cinnamoroll Note Pad

I was looking around for a notepad in my office the other day and remembered that this pad had just come in! Needless to say, I've already been jotting down "to do" lists on this super cute paper which happen to match the aforementioned letter set. It's about the same size as an envelope, and you get quite a hefty stack of pages, so this should last me quite some time!

Kakigori Hoppe-Chan

My third Hoppe-Chan! This little lady is kakigori, aka Japanese shaved ice, and wears a sunflower on her head. She even glows in the dark! She is slightly smaller than my other hoppe-chans, due to the fact that she comes with her own kakigori (which I believe is melon flavored).

Tohato Caramel Corn - Fruity Milk

Snack time! These are a strange treat to me. They're called "caramel corn" but come in a puffed form, similar to a cheese curl that we'd have here in the states. This also isn't caramel flavored, but "fruity milk" and tastes exactly how you'd imagine. Are you imagining the milk left after eating fruity pebbles? You are correct! I guess this is a rare flavor, but I just cannot get into them. So sweet and such a strange flavor for a puffy texture!!

Verdict: This month's Doki Doki wasn't quite as exciting as last month's kitchen theme, but I still enjoyed it a lot! I may be wearing school girl bows on the reg now if they make me look good in photos (where were you on MSA picture day, you wonderful bow?!).  I received 8 items that were adorable as heck, and I was super stoked on my first Totoro item to be received in a subscription box! If I divide $30 (the cost of the box) by the 8 items, that makes them each worth about $3.75 which seems great! Soon, my hoppe-chan army and I will take over the world and you will bow to them as your leaders.

Cockatoo plush is what you got….notice the feathers on head sticking up, that’s what that bird is described as in booklet. I got him too and love Doki Doki!

This is going to sound crazy, but I thought the tohato caramel corn tasted like caramel Froot Loops, lol. I liked it, but I didn’t. Does that make any sense at all??
