Craftly Women’s Subscription Box Review – August 2017
Craftly is a lifestyle subscription box for women and men that delivers artisan and handcrafted goods from independent artists, small businesses, and mid-to-large scale brands.
Every other month, the Craftly team handpicks 4-5 small-batch surprises to send your way. The website says each box’s value should total around $40.00.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This month’s theme is “Everyday Carry”. I like the uncluttered look of their product list and descriptions.
I balked a little when I saw the brand “Simply Gum”, as I am simply not a gum person. Mints, on the other hand, I love, and these are indeed mints. They’re not only made with things like natural peppermint and cane sugar, but they’re also gluten-free, vegan, and GMO-free. I liked the friendly peppermint flavor—it wasn’t super sharp or overpowering, just lightly sweet and instantly refreshing. They dissolve pretty quickly in your mouth, but they most assuredly work. And the square tin fits great inside the inner pocket of my bag!
UnVeil Co Jot Books Notebook – Value $3.32 (buy a pack of 3 for $9.95)
I can totally see some people feeling completely underwhelmed by a simple paper notebook. I, on the other hand, am thrilled, as I always am reaching for something to scribble in at coffee shops or before a trip to the store. The pages are ruled and look like school notebook paper. According to the info card, this notebook is designed to be durable. To me, it seems like a pretty standard staple-bound card-and-paper pocket notebook, so I’m a little skeptical as to whether it’ll hold up in the chaos of my tote bag!
Kiko Leather Women’s Card Case – Listed Value $50.00
While I couldn’t find this exact Kiko item online, I did run across a lot of other items from their catalog that suggest the $50.00 price Craftly gave this wallet is right on the money. This is a really nice little card case! I love the convenience of having my keys and cards all in one easily grab-able chunk, but my current change purse/wallet is bursting at the seams. This sand-hued wallet, with its slim card pockets, clear ID pocket, and a center snap-shut pocket for cash is way tidier than what I’ve got going on now. I’m hoping the slender compartments help me keep the contents of my wallet from getting too out of hand. And I love that it has a sturdy key ring built right in!
Craighill Wilson Brass Key Ring – Value $12.00
The perfect pairing for my new wallet is this brass key ring. It’s just flexible enough to allow other key rings to loop through its little clasp, but it’s so sturdy that I don’t see anything falling off of this bad boy. I love the gold color and hope it stays put for awhile, rather than tarnishing right away. (Brass can be that way…) This looks way classier than the chipping red carabiner I’ve been using on my keychain since college!
Verdict: This Craftly box contains about $68 worth of indie-made products, all of which are both super useful and right up my alley in terms of aesthetic. I love the slightly more gender-neutral vibe of this box, too. As someone who doesn’t go super girly day to day, I really liked getting items that were sophisticated, but not flirty or particularly cutesy. I felt like this $29.95 subscription box was super worth it this month, especially given the inclusion of that really nice wallet!
