I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.

Note: Pretty much every item in this box is exclusive so I have taken the values from the information card.

Cat Lady Box August 2017

Crazy Catnip Pencil – Listed Value $4.99

School Bus Catnip Toy – Listed Value $4.99

This is the Crazy Cat Lady version of the box, so there were two catnip toys. These are usually custom toys that fit the box theme really well. The toys are always well-made, and these are no exception. I think the pencil was somewhat favored because of the fuzzy end, but Angus has been tossing the school bus around as well. These are fairly typical of the toys you will receive. Angus will play with everything so they are good fits for us.

“I Work Hard So My Cat Can Have a Better Life” Shirt – Value $22.99?

The information card had a typo and inadvertently left out a value for this shirt, so I took the value from another t-shirt Cat Lady Box sent out this year, figuring they would be similar. This shirt is too true for me. (Well, you need to make “cat” plural and also add “dog,” because Nyx eats a big chunk of my paycheck as well.) I would have a lot more disposable income if not for prescription cat food and medication (but the kitties are totally worth every penny I spend on them!).

Cat Desktop Organizer – Listed Value $12.99

I realized after the fact that I probably should’ve also taken a photo of this unassembled, but now that I have it together, I’m not taking it apart! Anyway, this is a fairly stiff cardboard material that was a little difficult to put together. However, that makes it more stable. This will be super useful in my office but I might decorate it with some glitter or something first.

Cat Magnets Set – Listed Value $14.99

The outer package cracked me up. Anyway, you can barely see a square inch of my refrigerator because of all the subscription box refrigerator magnets, but that’s OK. I will find places for these. Because they’re shaped like cats. Everything is better when it’s shaped like cats. (Seriously, though, these are strong enough to hold up at least an appointment reminder card or something of that nature.)

Cat Lady Box August 2017

As usual, Angus got the most out of the toys. He really had a lot of fun with the pencil.

Madison shows a tooth!

Monkey was not in the mood to play. Sometimes that happens.

Cat Lady Box August 2017

Sneaky was in a foul mood as well. Nothing to do with the box or its contents. But most of my cats are older and not always playful. Sneaky is usually angry unless she is eating…

Cat Lady Box August 2017

Mr. Kitty was trying to get a look at what was going on elsewhere in the room so I took this opportunity to snap a picture of him with the bus toy.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $61 for the August 2017 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. Although the values are mostly from the information card, that seems reasonable to me. I will definitely be using every item (my weekend wardrobe is pretty much exclusively cat-related shirts) and Angus had a ball with the toys.

This is my second month and I’m happy that they had a clothing item! I really like the shirt and how it fits. I have big shoulders though and things tend to be tight on them, so this looser cut is always welcome up top.

I find this box much more useful than last month’s.

I orders my first box thid month so I will be getting Septembers. After seeing this box I’m hesitant on my subscription, however all the other months boxes have looked awesome!

By far, not my favorite box. While the shirt and toys are a hit, the organizer isn’t the quality I’ve come to expect from Cat Lady Box (face it, we’re pretty spoiled with this box) and the magnets, while cute, just aren’t very functional. Still a great sub though and I love the company; they went above and beyond in response to the issue with the votive holder last month.

I usually love Cat Lady Box, but this organizer was probably the first time I was disappointed by the quality of an item. It’s not just cardboard, but styrofoam, and I almost broke the tail off putting it together. I really wish it were made out of a sturdier wood or plastic.

I do love the shirt and the magnets though.

Yes, I thought the organizer was a rare fail.

I had high hopes for the organizer box, it looked so cute on the instruction sheet! As I was assembling it, it was coming apart. Not the actual assembly coming apart, but the pieces were. It is so cheap! Catlady box is my fave sub however I noticed there is always 1 piece in each box that is very cheap.

Carrie

Should have typed “not my favorite month” instead of box since this is my favorite sub.

I love the cat lady box! Super envious of this box. We sub on and off when the budget will allow.

Mr. Kitty looks really good! I hope he’s feeling well too. And wow has Angus grown! I’m fostering two cats right now, Axl Rose and Charlie. They’re on medical holds pending adoption clearance and I think they’ll be with me for a while so I think I’m going to subscribe. I like that this box is a combo for kitty and human. I’ve followed the reviews for a long time and they’ve almost always been great boxes so I’m not overly concerned about a less exciting month.

Mr. Kitty is doing pretty well. We are trying to get him to gain weight right now (he lost a few pounds during all his eye troubles last year). He is having some acid reflux so I have to feed him six times a day (once in the middle of the night!) but he has quickly learned about the extra feedings and now follows me around and basically begs for them. But honestly, for a 13-year-old cat who has had a chronic medical condition and who has been on some heavy medications for about 5 years, he is doing great.

I could never foster because I wouldn’t be able to give them up once I brought them home.

I loved this box’s theme, but was a bit disappointed in the execution. The shirt is cute, but it’s huge! The sizing seems off…the shirt I received was too big for even my husband. The desk organizer is also cute, but looks/feels a bit cheap. And I like the magnets, but I do agree that they look kind of weird when placed on a vertical surface like a fridge.

I love the concept of CatLady Box, but I just cancelled after about a year of subscribing. I feel like some of the products are a bit “cheap” and have a “mass-produced-in-China” vibe. Personally, I wish this sub would opt for more artisanal-style items, but I realize with the number of subscribers that might not be possible. It’s a cute idea for a sub, and some of the products I’ve received were amazing, but lately, I’ve been encountering more “misses” than “hits.” Just my opinion, of course.

Not the best for sure, but the pencil toy is a HUGE hit.

I did not like this box. I tried putting the card board box together. Because of the humidity it did work out well. So I tossed it. Magnets are okay yet I prefer practical. Shirt I m fine with yet not thrilled about. I hope next months box will be better.

Other than the shirt and the pencil, I didn’t care for this box.

The magnets are ok but I don’t find them very strong and the way they look when they’re on the fridge is silly since they should be on a horizontal surface. The bus is kind of huge and only one of my cats is interested because of that and I feel sure all the stuff on the side is going to fall off, and the desktop organizer looks incredibly cheap.

Can’t win ’em all I guess.
