Included in the box is a mini magazine with various articles for my reading enjoyment. This is a welcome departure from the two-sided info card.
“The Kind of Beauty I Want” V-Neck T-Shirt – Listed Value $28.00
It’s a fun surprise to receive a variety of shirts each month and be encouraged by the message inscribed on the garment. This blue t-shirt has the saying, “The Kind Of Beauty I Want Most Is The Hard-To-Get Kind That Comes From Within. Strength Courage & Dignity.” This will go well with a pair of jeans.
Faux Leather Journal – Value $19.00
I have accumulated a lot of journals from subscription boxes. Some have made great gifts and others I have kept. I will add this to my stash of journals. This black faux leather lined journal has “Musings of a Magical Black Girl” inscribed on the front of the journal.
The back of the journal has a pocket to keep notes or receipts.
Lunch Tote – Listed Value $19.00
This neoprene lunch tote is colorful and eye-catching. It’s roomy and will fit my lunch nicely. The only drawback is the awful smell coming from the bag. I need to figure out a way to get rid of the smell. Any ideas?
Posh Candle Co. Time To Relax Candle, 4 oz. – Value $9.00
I love candles and was happy to receive this travel size in this month’s box. I enjoy my candles to be moderately scented and have the scent linger throughout a room. However, this soy candle did not deliver. I barely smelled the lavender scent, but maybe after prolonged burning, the aroma will increase.
Believe in Yourself Sticky Notes – Value $6.95
These fifty inspirational sticky notes have multiple sayings that will encourage and uplift you or a friend. I like to post inspirational sayings throughout my apartment to remind me I am special and fearless.
Pink Tumbler – Listed Value $9.00
This pink tumbler has “JET Beauty of the Week” inscribed on the front and back. It’s sturdy, lightweight, and insulated.
Magnet – Listed Value $4.00
A typical square magnet with “Shine Bright Like A Diamond” on the front. This will be added to my magnet collection on my refrigerator.
Mirror – Listed Value $6.00
This circle mirror says, “Out Here Being Cute” on the front and the back is the actual mirror. This mirror is large and the right size to have on hand. I would like to have seen a case accompanying the mirror, so when I throw in my cosmetic bag it won’t smudge.
Verdict: The Brown Sugar Box has a boxed value of $100.95 – an incredible deal for a $45.00 box. This month’s box was heavy on sayings inscribed on the products and it seems to be popping up in a lot of subscription boxes. It’s getting to be old and not everyone wants a product inscribed with some cute inspirational saying. How about some art work or various shapes and patterns instead? The products in this box will get used and I have a new lunch tote and t-shirt I can’t wait to wear. Overall a nice box, hopefully, next month won’t be heavy on the verbiage on the products.
