The first candy that I tried was this giant lollipop from Mexico that is made with salt and chili. I was surprised by just how spicy this actually is! The lollipop itself isn’t like a hard candy, but instead was sort of soft and grainy. The mixture of salt and spice was pretty overpowering. This wasn’t my favorite candy from this month’s box simply because of how spicy it is, but I think this would be a great snack for someone that loves candy and spicy food!
Prestige Troy Wafer, 35g – Value $2.00?
This was my favorite item from this month’s box hands down! The texture reminded me of a Nutter Butter Bar, which was my favorite lunch snack as a kid. It is very light with a thick outer layer of chocolate. I loved everything about this wafer!
These little candies are similar to the Palebola lollipop. They are very spicy from the chilis and sweet like a watermelon. The texture is sort of grainy like the lollipop as well. For such a small piece of candy, it packs a lot of heat from the chilis! I really thought I enjoyed spicy food, but this was another candy that packed a little too much heat for me.
Canel’s Gum Candy, 1 pack – Value $0.16 (buy a 10.6 oz. box for $3.95)
I loved the packaging for this and that you get four in each! This basically is a really fruity bubble gum that you would get at the store when you were a little kid. Boy did I love it! The pieces are small so you can either make each package last by eating one piece at a time or do what I did and put all four pieces in at once for one big piece of gum!
De La Rosa Pulparindo, 2, 14g packages – Value $0.40 (buy a 20-piece box for $4.00)
These candies are made with tamarind pulp and chili peppers to make them sweet, spicy, and salty! The texture is chewy and grainy from the pulp. Based on the packaging I thought one would be sweeter like a watermelon, but they both had a fairly similar flavor. The combination of the chili peppers and salt were a bit too hot for me, but it was such a unique type of candy that I loved taste testing!
Tix Tix Fizz – Value $0.40?
I wasn’t able to find this candy for sale online anywhere so I am just guessing on the value based on the size. I really enjoyed this little candy package because it starts out as a very sour hard candy and then turns into a fruity bubble gum! This is another candy that I would have loved as a little kid, and the packaging gives you just enough to fill your sweet cravings.
Duvalin Bi Sabor – Hazelnut – Value $0.75 (buy a box of 18 for $13.44)
Duvalin Bi Sabor – Strawberry – Value $0.75 (buy a box of 18 for $13.44)
This is my kind of treat mainly because I am an ‘eat the icing right out of the jar’ kinda girl! There really is no other way to describe these other than they taste just like icing that you would use on baked goods. Both were sweet and sugary with a wonderful hazelnut flavor from the chocolate. I absolutely loved these treats!
Sonrics Gudu Pop, 3 pieces – Value $0.23 (buy a bag of 53 pieces for $3.99)
These are like Laffy Taffy on a lollipop! The multi-colored set was very fruity and delicious. I wasn’t sure what the blue flavors would be but was surprised by the almost spearmint flavors. Both were very yummy and I loved that it reminded me so much of Laffy Taffy!
Sonrics Gudo Cubos – Value $0.25?
I wasn’t able to find this specific Sonrics candy, but it seems like a smaller version of the lollipop. It had the same Laffy Taffy texture that I loved! The flavors were watermelon and blueberry, a perfect quick treat!
Ricos Besos by Monte’s, 4 pieces – Value $0.50? (buy a 6 oz. bag for $3.50)
These are chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut flavored pieces of toffee! I absolutely love toffee so these were a wonderful surprise, especially getting so many in one box! The flavors were so rich and creamy. This is the type of candy that I would keep in my bag to enjoy when I want something extra sweet!
This lollipop was amazing from the start with its cute mug shape! I got a mix of lemon, mango, and pineapple flavors plus a cream soda that most likely comes from the white of the lollipop. Really delicious flavors!
This is described as a sweet and sour powder, but it really looked like straight sugar. It reminded me a lot like Fun Dip but without something to dip into it. I could only try a little of this one because it was just so sour and very sweet. This is something that I would have really enjoyed as a little kid though!
Sonrics Gudu Hard Lollipops – Value $1.00?
This was another Sonrics hard candy that I wasn’t able to find, just the soft lollipops, so I am estimating the value. These really reminded me of Blow Pops which are my favorite hard candy of all time! The flavors were pretty similar, fruity, but I got a bit more of a pineapple flavor from the yellow. These were a really wonderful extra in this month’s box simply because they were larger so they last longer!
If you couldn’t guess by the packaging, this is a cucumber and a chili flavored lollipop! I received two so I was able to share this with my husband who absolutely loved it! I was a little unsure but did enjoy the unique flavors this candy has to offer. You really get the strong sweet cucumber flavors, and then it gets very spicy as it goes on. This was unlike any lollipop flavor I have ever tried!
Verdict: This was my first time trying the Bocandy box, and I was surprised to see that I received over 14 pieces of candy. Many of the smaller pieces came with a double or even four total! Each piece of candy was hard to find the value of online, especially the Sonrics Gudu items, which makes calculating an accurate value tricky. I would say though considering I received so much candy the $9.99 price seems fair. I am just not sure that I love candy enough to receive such a large assortment each month, but I think this box would be great for someone that loves trying unique flavors or that really loves having candies from across the globe. I was a little bummed to see that a few of the items from this month’s box were also in the July box, but luckily two of those items were my favorites!
