Just received my first box today and what a major disappointment!! Samles are those teeny tiny ones you get for FREE at retailers or in the mail so what a joke! Good thing I cancelled before next month and changed my card on file *just in case* they try billing me as I have read they like to do that to get at least 2 months out of people. IPSY is by far way better!! At least in every bag you’ll get 1 or 2 FULL sz produtcs. I’m attending my other new beauty sub, Glossybox. Hoing it’s not a dud as well.

I just re subscribed and I’m still an ace but I have no idea how to get a spotlight box or where the description of them are on the site. Anyone Know?

I don’t want any of this stuff, so that’s a big Zero on my Birchbox Excitement Scale for September. I guess I wont select anything and just hope by some luck of the draw that I’ll get some items NOT shown here. But good golly, Miss Molly – please NO red lippies, mascara, dry shampoo, bronzers or highlighters! Don’t use ’em, don’t like ’em, don’t want ’em, but keep gettin’ ’em!

I don’t mind the shipping delay for the monthly box, but it’s super-frustrating to wait this long for my full-size shop purchase to arrive. I placed the order because I was running out of an everyday product and needed it.

I was really hoping the curated box was going to be the spoiler that posted on Aug. 15. I love the Davines and Origins products. I am so tired of dry shampoo and hair sprays and mascara.

Yeah my box delivery date keeps getting pushed back so I dont know if it will ever show up and what condition it might be if it does. Anyway, this curated box and sample choice is lackluster and downright sad. Maybe they are getting by before selling to Walmart? I might have to change up my subscription soon that provides more surprises and less troubles.

That is absolutely the worst curated box I’ve seen from Birchbox. Ever. You would think the Sept box would have a fall theme, but instead it’s extremely lackluster. The samples choices are below average as well. I would cancel but I don’t want to lose my points or Ace status. That’s how they keep us sucked in.

You don’t lose your ace or your points if you cancel the subscription. I’ve cancelled a few times and start back up if it’s a box i like

I’m so glad I unsubbed from Birchbox last year (after the points change and my Black Friday deal was over) – these sample choices aren’t interesting to me and even the curated box looks way worse than normal.

Birchbox is so noninclusive. A lip volumizer, not one, but 2 hair products that I have no use for. I know some products will be hit or miss, but all of these are complete duds. I can’t even get excited about choosing a MAC product. Canceled.

I feel like Birchbox is either really great or really crummy. I go from some months where I pick my sample and then also purchase the featured box, to the next month where everything is a dud. Oh well.

vanessa

Which is exactly why I cancelled.

Last year I subbed on a “free extra box” deal. It had 4 of the products in that Curly Hair box… I have stick straight hair. Yes I know I could still use the products, but it was very disappointing.

Lori

I did the same thing as you, subbed on the “free box” deal and got curly long hair products 🙁 was very disappointed considering this was my very first time subbing to any beauty boxes. This curated box looks interesting for the hair products alone. If not for those I wouldn’t be interested at all 🙁 I’m trying to give them a chance but it looks like they are more interested in catering to their ‘beta’ members and they are dropping the ball on the rest of us. Gonna try them out for another month and if October is just as disappointing or worse then I’ll prolly cancel. I know they’re only $10 but Play by Sephora is too & they sad some things this month that I really wanted so I think I may have to switch…

I just got my box sat….

Ann

Did your tracking update?

Monica

No it never did!

LS

Eh. I just find these options all very underwhelming. Some of the spotlight boxes look decent, but not enough for me to pay an extra $5 to get them. Cancelling for September.

Ann

I’m annoyed I still don’t have my August box and no eta on it either. And here we are about to pick for September.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Thanks to their lovely new shipping partner I still haven’t received my August box! Aside from their post on Facebook I haven’t received any update on my box. Depending on how this is handled will depend on whether or not I continue my sub for September.

Dixie

I agree that these choices are subpar it’s ear anniversary month and they couldn’t step it. After the shipping fiasco this month we should all get a full size product in September’s box. Think it may be time to say bye to birchbox .
