  1. Done with Birchbox completely. It has been nothing but one problem after another with them. There are too many other great boxes/sites to spend time hunting down packages and receiving wrong items!!

  2. I’m digging the oily skin one. Especially since the samples give me a way to try before I potentially buy.

I cancelled BB (& I was Beta,) but paying $10 or $15 for a specific concern box is OK by me, particularly since I’ve now cancelled most of my subs.

  3. That Oily Skin Solutions Kit looks tempting. The MALIN+GOETZ clarifying clay mask works wonders for me as a spot treatment when I’m breaking out. I also love Michael Todd Beauty and haven’t tried this cleanser yet (I love the toners). Hmm…

    • Well kudos to the person who didn’t subscribe to the birchbox beta that said “I will just wait for the boxes to go on sale”!! I wasn’t so lucky!! Lol

      • I was wondering if these boxes were the “spotlight” boxes the $15/month subscribers got to choose from. I’m not subbed right now, but have been wondering if it’s worth doing the $15/month option just to get to choose from the spotlight boxes (which have always looked good to me), but I fear losing out on that $5 if I decide to go with a sample pick or the curated box. If I knew they would sell the spotlight boxes separately, then I’d do the $10/month plan, plus still purchase whatever spotlight boxes appealed to me that month. They should do that… they’d get a lot more money out of me that way. 🙂

  4. these little kits are great stocking stuffers

    …winter is coming…

  5. I love the products but the value is SO LOW. But then again, that’s why I unsubscribe to birchbox- loved the products but paying $10 for $20 worth of products just seemed silly.
