Land of Submarines Nail Wraps - Value $10

The first set of nail wraps are “Land of Submarines”. These are colorful, graphic wraps in a mod style with a couple of accent wraps that have cute yellow submarines and a load of nostalgia.

We're Jellin' Nail Wraps - Value $10

Set two are the “We’re Jellin’” wraps. These look like you are looking into the jellyfish tank at the aquarium. They are real images and a different style than the illustrated wraps they are going up against.

The submarine wraps won the battle because I was going to trivia with a Beatles fanatic and I knew she would get a kick out of them. I was right!

Application was pretty easy after I got the hang of it.

Step 1: Clean your nails with some alcohol wipes to remove any oils.

Step 2: Pick the wrap that fits your nail best and peel off the clear protective layer.

Step 3: Peel the wrap off of the backing and place onto your nail close to the cuticle but not overlapping any skin.

Step 3: Rub the wrap onto your nail starting at the bottom of your nail. I used one of those rubbery cuticle pushers to make sure I got all of the edges down.

Step 4: Tuck the end of the wrap under your nail and use an emery board to file in a downward motion to cut the excess wrap.

Step 5: Apply a top coat (regular, not quick-dry) for more staying power. This step is optional.

That’s it!

It took me about 15 minutes for the first hand and 10 minutes for the second. I’m sure I will get quicker with each application until I am a pro.

My nails looked really nice and smooth and definitely colorful. I like that I didn’t have to worry about letting polish dry (if you don’t use the top coat) and that my manicure looked perfect with no stray polish.

You can change the look of your manicure by adding different top coats, like matte and glitter, or by using the wraps as accent nails with your favorite polish colors.

I have read that these can stay put for up to 2 weeks. Mine were peeling off within 2 days. 🙁 Great thing is, they are super easy to remove. You just peel them off and wipe your nails with coconut oil to remove residue. No damage, no chemicals, and super quick.

I’ll be trying some tips I read about getting these to last longer because I’d love to have an option for a quick, long lasting manicure for such a good price.

Extra cool thing: These glow in the dark! I walked close to a black light and they REALLY glow.

Verdict: This is the first time I have applied nail wraps and it was easier than I thought! I think that if you are a wrap kind of person, $15 + free shipping is a good value for the $20 worth of nail wraps I received.. I am disappointed with the short time these lasted on my nails, but I’ll give some different techniques a shot to see if I can get some more life out of them.

I’ve used Nexus Nail Wraps before and they lasted a long time for me after I put a top coat of clear polish over them. I’m not sure if you did this step but I would definitely recommend it if you didn’t. Hope it helps!

Those submarine nail wraps are so cute! I thought of The Beatles as soon as I saw them. Great review!

I’m so psyched to see this get reviewed! I found out about these nail wraps when i received a set in a geek girl mystery box last year. The wraps glowed in the dark which was awesome and lasted about a full week. I always apply a top coat on my nail wraps which i think helps. I have since purchased other wraps from espionage cosmetics and find that they are pretty good so far. My favorites though are by incoco. They have really great staying power.

I also agree with u about the top coat and I actually apply a bottom too and get great staying power and it seems to be easier to peel off when I want a change. And the incoco ones are my absolute fave, they are the best quality I’ve. Found so far and they actually last and there real polish!

Definitely, Incoco has the best! I get 2 weeks wear at least!

I tried these before and they didn’t even last one day. I was very upset because I followed the directions exactly. I love these designs and the idea. I wish it worked better for me.
