Crown Brush Deluxe Fan SS023 - Value $18.99

This brush is so nice! It is a big, fluffy, fan brush made from synthetic bristles and meant for light powder or highlighter application. It is so soft and the fullness allows for a lot of control and blending whether you want a lot of product or a little. It also has a nice weight and looks well made. I have been hoping for a big powder brush in a box and I never thought of using a fan brush as one, but this is perfect.

Hikari Eyeshadow Quad Emma - Value $15

This is the second time I have seen this eyeshadow quad in a subscription box. I feel the same way now as I did when I tried it before. I don’t like the packaging because the compact feels bulky and a bit cheap. The colors have a lot of pigment to them and they are blendable but the darker two colors are too dark for my preference. I can use the lighter two colors and achieve a look I like and the lightest shimmer color is really pretty.

Laritzy Lip Pencil in Beau - Value $18

This lip pencil is listed as a creamy lip pencil that protects and moisturizes your lips all day. I thought it was kind of hard and pulled when I applied. The color is really cute on its own. Like most lip pencils, I found it to fade unevenly and making me want to apply lip balm all the time. This is not my favorite formula.

Fave 4 Duosity Double Whipped Repairing Treatment - Value $25

I like the inclusion of a hair treatment this month since I’ll be spending so much time in the water. This tube has two separate products inside that, when squeezed out together, combine and a chemical reaction occurs. Cool! You rub it in your palms to whip it up and apply to your hair when wet. Leave on for 3-5 minutes and rinse. My hair feels nice and silky when I rinse it out which is great when my hair hardly ever feels silky. After diffusing, I notice less frizz and a little more definition to my curls. It smells a bit weird but the smells don't seem to linger after rinsing it out.

Katherine Cosmetics Wow Stick - Value $36

This fragrance-free primer stick has SPF protection of 20 and comes in two shades: light-medium and dark-deep. I received the light-medium shade and it works well for my skin. The packaging is a convenient twist-up stick that is great to throw in your purse for touch-ups. The “Wow” stick claims to be smudge-proof and sweat-proof and I think it holds true. We have been moving in this crazy heat and I have been putting this on in the mornings for a little coverage and it seems to stay put. I just touch-up and layer my foundation at night and I get a nice smooth finish. In terms of coverage, it is very sheer, but, this is marketed as a primer so no surprise there. I have dry skin and this helps to keep it hydrated, but if you have oily skin, you may not like that it doesn’t set completely on its own.

Lola Beauty Box June 2017

All of the items swatched from top to bottom: eyeshadow quad, lip pencil, primer stick.

Verdict: Lola Beauty Box did a great job again this month. I like the brush and the primer stick a lot but I wasn’t crazy about the lip liner. I like that I got a hair product and not just makeup. The value of this box is $112.99 with free shipping which was higher than last month. I’m excited to see what they send next month.

What do you think of the this month’s Lola Beauty Box? Which product do you like best?

I agree with you on both the eyeshadow and the lip liner. I have received both these products in other subs and didn’t like them. I found that that eyeshadow had no staying power and the lipliner was hard and dry. I’m glad I never subbed to this box because it has a high instance of items I have gotten in other subs. Otherwise, it seems like a nice box though.

I like the primer but I really would love to try that hair treatment.

If you have a fair complexion, do you have any choice on what they send you? Like in that primer stick that you received in the light/medium, it would be great if you got to choose, but if they randomly sent you the darker shade, that would really put a damper on the sub 🙁

I’m a pale redhead myself, so it’s a big factor for me. I do love how they sent that haircare product!

Unfortunately there is not a choice…I’m very fair and received the dark-deep🙁

This was an improvement from last month’s box. I like the colours they featured!
