KitNipBox is a monthly subscription box just for cats. Each month, expect a themed selection of toys and treats for your kitty! None of the food products in the box are made in China, though some of the toys may be. All KitNip Box toys are thoroughly assessed for quality and safety by the KitNipBox team.

The information card included a list of items in the box. They included values and I have used a lot of these below because KitNipBox toys can be hard to find for sale online. This month’s theme is “Fine Arts.”
Best Pet Fun Fish Door Dangler – Listed Value $5
The cord on this is a bit short to be a good door dangler, but it was pretty good to just drag around with my hand. See some action shots below. (Toys like this work especially well for Sneaky and Angus.)
Interactive Ballet Slipper Wand – Listed Value $7
This was another one for Sneaky and Angus. (I had my husband distract Angus for a bit so I could actually let Sneaky play with it.) I would be happy if I got a dangly toy on a stick in every cat subscription box and lately, KitNipBox has been making that happen.
Smart n’ Tasty Dental Treats (salmon) – Value $3.99
You will sometimes see these treats with different branding on them, but they are the same thing. (We’ve had them often, so I know this.) These don’t stink too badly and Sneaky, Angus, and Madison all liked them. Sneaky will probably be getting most of them; I like to give her a few before and after we do her asthma inhaler to calm her down/distract her.
Think Cat! Natural Sisal Roller – Listed Value $4
This has lots of great textures. Sisal is more of a Monkey thing, and Angus likes anything with feathers.
Safemade Lush Watermelon – Listed Value $4
This is large, but not too large. This is more of an Angus toy. (Most toys are Angus toys. Most non-toy-items are also Angus toys, including, but not limited to, coasters, my bottle of Visine, and the dining room furniture.) Ah, the joys of having a young cat again…
Pet Winery Purrgundy Cat Wine – Value $4.95
We got some cat tea from this company in this month’s Cat Lady Box. This has catnip, a bit of salmon oil, and natural food coloring. Monkey is a junkie for this sort of thing. Angus was interested but I had to shoo him away because he was putting his paws in here and I didn’t want him to get it all over the carpet and hardwood floors.
Think Cat! Musical Note – Listed Value $5
This is a pretty basic felt toy. Although it has a large surface area, it is lightweight. Madison was interested but you never get good photos of a black toy with a black cat…
Here are the cat photos you clicked on this review to see…
Angus eats a treat. And Sneaky didn’t even steal it!
Angus with the fish door dangler toy.
Angus sniffs the kitty wine when Monkey steps away for a bit.
Angus with the ballet slipper dangly toy.
Did I ever mention that it’s difficult to take pictures of black cats? Because they all come out looking like this. At least he wasn’t hiding under the bed this time.
I had to take the cat wine upstairs to see how Madison and Mr. Kitty liked it. They were interested, but not as much as Monkey was…
I feel like I need to get him a little paper bag to hold this or something…
Monkey would not leave the kitty wine alone. I took like 17 pictures of him with his face on or near the bowl and they all looked pretty similar.
One of my better photos of Sneaky eating a treat in recent memory. I didn’t even get bit this month. (I did get scratched, though.)
What I like here is how she’s obviously playing with the toy but still looks really angry.
I just wanted to prove to you that she doesn’t always look angry. Naturally, the toy just swung out of the picture before the camera went off.
And here we are, back to looking angry again…
Sneaky will sniff anything once, but this kitty wine was really more of a Monkey thing. (I know Monkey has eye discharge. This is a constant battle in our house. Angus’s arrival in January made everyone’s eye herpes flare up, or anyone who didn’t already have eye herpes come down with it.)
I can’t really get Mr. Kitty to play with toys any more. The veterinary ophthalmologist says he has a lot of trouble with depth perception because the cornea in his left eye (the one that looks big) is so distorted. Also he is almost 13 years old.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $34 for the July KitNipBox. That is a few dollars better than the month-to-month cost of the subscription, which is good for a cat subscription. You tend to get a lot of items in this subscription that you don’t see anywhere else (other than the treats), and since I have so many cats, pretty much everything was a hit with someone, so I was happy with this box.
What did you think of the July KitNipBox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
