kidpik is a seasonal clothing subscription for girls. You can either choose to receive 1 box per season (4 per year), 2 boxes per season (8 per year), or a box every month. All the pieces are really well-made, and the designs are unique to kidpik. I think the easiest way to think of kidpik is that it is essentially Stitch Fix for girls, but with no styling fee. kidpik designs and produces all of its own apparel and accessories.

My daughters are always super excited to see what is in their kidpik boxes and this summer is no different. kidpik was kind enough to send a box for each of my daughters.

These two boxes were sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Let’s take a look at M’s box first.

When you sign up, they ask for your girl’s name and use it to personalize the box for her. This box was styled for my 8 year old daughter, and I just used her initial. Usually, the girl’s first name will be included here. My daughter is especially excited that this whole box is just for her!

Check out my review of the Summer 2017 kidpik subscription!

When you first sign up, you fill out a style profile for your girl. It is fun and easy to complete. And accurate. If you want to see details about this, you can see more here. Both of my daughters are very girly, love dresses and most colors, and I rated each of them a 10 out of 10 on the question about how much your girl loves sparkles.

Ok, let’s see what we’ve got! (This box was styled based on our preferences so what you receive could be totally different.) Looks interesting!

There are a couple of different bags.

The next bag is reusable as a drawstring backpack. We like to use these when traveling.

Alexis Studded Gladiator - Listed Value $25.50 (Keep All Price $17.85)

M needed some new sandals for this summer, and these are perfect. They are classic and neutral and work well with her entire wardrobe. We always think kidpik is especially good at shoes, and these are no exception.

Check out my review of the Summer 2017 kidpik subscription!

The hidden Velcro closure makes them easy to get on and off. The padded, kid-safe soles are perfect. M thinks these sandals look like what older girls wear, and of course, she loves that.

Studded Strand Bracelet - Listed Value $3.50 (Keep All Price $2.45)

This bracelet is another item that M loves because she thinks it looks like what older girls wear. I appreciate how the studs on it coordinate with her sandals.

Here is the information card that comes with the subscription box. The front is personalized with my daughter’s name again. Kids love to see their names on things.

Now let’s look at what was underneath those bags.

kidpik does a great job with details, such as the studs on the bracelet and sandals and the pant-pocket trim working with this sweatshirt.

The last item in this box is this tank dress, which is easy to throw on and go.

Here is the full skirt. Perfect for twirling! Some of the items in kidpik boxes, including this dress, can also be found in their Basics shop. The shop has other items I haven't seen in boxes myself and can be sorted by color among other things.

Let’s see these clothes in action in Death Valley, California, and then take a look at the box for my younger daughter! There are also photos of the girls together later in the review.

Classic Short - Listed Value $14.50 (Keep All Price $10.15)

F received a pair of white shorts with a hidden adjustable waistband. These are easy for her to fasten herself since they come with a snap closure. (The shorts in the larger size in my other daughter's box have a real button closure.)

Lace Hem Denim Jacket – Listed Value $29.50 (Keep All Price $20.65)

In the spring box, my older daughter received a denim jacket which she wears A LOT. She loves it. Her friends love it. This is so much so that she started a trend among girls her age at her elementary school. So you can imagine how excited our younger daughter was when she received her own denim jacket in the summer box! The summer version has added lace which gives the jacket its own flair.

Let’s see these clothes in action and then both of the girls together!

kidpik always does a great job with sending pieces that mix and match easily. I always end up thinking each of these boxes is essentially its own capsule wardrobe.

The price for all the items in the first box is $120.14 if we purchase everything separately. The total for the second box is $133.07 if purchased separately. I noticed that there was sales tax charged on these 2 boxes, which I think is likely because these boxes shipped from CA, and we are in CA. We are normally charged taxes on clothing here. Considering the quality of the items, the fact that the styling service, shipping to us, and any return shipping is thrown in, the time I saved not having to go out looking for these items, and the free gift of sparkly patches, I think that is a more than fair price.

If, for some reason, you don’t like the subscription box, you have one week to return the items and pay nothing. Awesome.

Plus, if you keep the whole box (which we always do, especially since everything works so well together), you get the 30% discount, so the price is $84.10 for the first box and $93.15 for the second box. I call that a deal!

I continue to be sad that they don’t do a boys box. So unfair!

We have our fingers crossed for a boy box as well!

And shoes. (kidpik is really good at shoes.)

I don’t have kids so I don’t generally read the email reviews I receive that I can tell from the subject are kid based. However, I opened this one mistakenly and I just was really impressed with not only the prices but also the clothing. I thought they looked great on your kids and were very versatile to wear with other items. The denim jacket with the dress pairing is just adorable!

Thank you!

Your boxes are beautiful. I’m glad it worked out for you. We tried kidpik once and our box was awful. It looked like a box of inexpensive leftovers, with colors she didn’t like, styles she’d never wear, and nothing mixed and matched like yours–and there were no standout pieces like that beautiful jacket. Also, while the review boxes all seem to have pretty patches, ours just had a bracelet that said “kidpik” — granted, it’s a freebie, but disappointing when you think you’re getting cute patches. I think we kept one item. Also, we had a horrible time with customer service which made me want to not give them a second chance. Which is a pity, because I really like the idea behind it.

So sorry to hear about this! I am pretty surprised. I would say to give them another try if you are at all interested because my daughters really love this subscription. Maybe change up her profile to make it more specific? I hope you are able to give it another shot and that you receive a better box next time!

The patches were their gift in this season’s box. The free gift does vary though. They have received different patches in the past and a couple of different bracelets. You can see other gifts in past reviews here if you are interested: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/category/kidpik-reviews

Ahhh, sometimes i wonder if these sub companies send the influential reviewers the “good boxes” and cr*p ones /less than fabulous ones to regular folks? Makes me suspicious, specially when i see “sent to us at no cost for review” . Not saying that is the case here, i have no clue.. but when i see drastically different reviews, it raises an eyebrow.

Reply ButtonReply

chris

I don’t think that is the case. The info card that comes in the box encourages kids to share pictures of their box on various social media platforms (and sometimes they do giveaways, etc.) and I have seen MANY boxes there from kids everywhere. Non-reviewers are getting great boxes as well.

If you are interested, give it a shot. I hope you will love kidpik as much as we do!

Stefanie

Great prices for adorable clothes. Seems like an awesome sub. I wish my kids were this little again!!!!
