Dia and Co July 2017 Box Women's Plus Clothing Subscription Box

Dia & Co
2.5 overall rating
75 Ratings | 24 Reviews

Dia & Co. is a monthly plus size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 20% discount is applied if I choose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co. may be entirely different than mine!

I love the vivid colors in their packaging, it is absolutely adorable. The personalization with it is such a nice touch too. It gets me pumped to open the package!

Enclosed in the envelope is a sweet note from my stylist, Natalie, painting an image of how I could style the pieces she thoughtfully selected for me.

The other form is an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. The savings would be $86.48 if I did decide to keep them all. Not shabby. That is essentially like getting the blazer and necklace for free!

Navy Mallory Blazer by Society+, Size 3x — Cost to Keep $55

This blazer has a moto cut – which I love and figure that is why it was included because every survey I take I say how much I love biker style jackets. The fabric on it is a ponte knit fabric; which I LOVE! The beauty of ponte fabric is that it gives you structure and stretch at the same time. I would have preferred this jacket in black rather than navy, but I still liked it a lot. The only thing I wasn’t keen on with the cut is that it has these pieces of fabric that drape kind of like a shawl on the hips. Otherwise, this jacket was adorable. I paired it with the jeans that Natalie picked for me and went with an almost all primary colors palette. This blazer would look great with a shift dress and heels at work, but is playful enough for any casual ensemble too!

Breeze Stretch Skinny Jean by Rawan, size 24—Cost to keep $65

These jeans were suede soft and so stretchy. I like that my stylists have kept with sending me darker denims in a skinny cut with stretch because that is my go to! I would have liked these to be cut higher in the waist because I love an ultra-high waist that echoes the waists of 70’s jeans of yore. Low rise jeans can stay at bay; I am NOT interested. These jeans fit great though and are so comfortable.

Kesha Textured Column Skirt by Eloquii, size 24 — Cost to keep $69.90

Well, I finally found a piece that I am keeping from Dia & Co., guys! I am a bit of a sucker for a good pencil skirt that wraps itself around my curves—and this does that. I have a few pieces from Eloquii that I absolutely cherish. Their styles always have this vintage meets modern vibe that I cannot get enough of. The skirt material is very stretchy and slightly thick, but not too thick so it can be worn in summer months or fall and winter. I love pieces that can be worn all year and in various ways—more bang for your buck! This skirt could easily be worn with a white button down, pointy black heels, and a black beaded necklace for a chic and classic look in the office. I went the kitschy route (as I usually do) and paired it with my new favorite shirt I got on my trip to the Bay Area from a local brand out there called Rock Roll Repeat, a record charm bracelet, my go to jellies, and a scarf. I wanted to show how playful a skirt like that can be. Just think of the options with a number like this and it pays for itself!

Black and White Charli Printed Cold Shoulder Top by Michael Studio, size 3x — Cost to Keep $48

The cold shoulder trend this season is something I have seen EVERYWHERE, so I am not surprised that I got this top in my box. Initially, I was put off by the sleeves a bit. They felt too Naomi Harper from Mamas Family in my mind, but the romantic and flirty look really grew on me! My stylist, Natalie, was wise to sneak this trend in with my forever favorite pattern--- stripes! The top fits amazingly. It is a bit long, but that is ok because I am a fan of tucking longer tops into my high waist skirts and jeans. The fabric has the perfect stretch and is made of this super comfy cotton spandex blend. This top would look good with dress pants at work or jeans and flats for a more casual look too.

Daniela Necklace in gold - Cost to Keep $28

My stylist, Natalie, probably saw my positive feedback on the lovely gold disc necklace that was sent to me last month. I really liked that one a great deal and I like this one too. This is a necklace that can be worn with any outfit and add some pizazz. I paired it to add a finishing touch to my adorable Michael Studio top, but it could pair with almost any of the outfits I put together. It is a great and versatile basic piece.

Verdict: This is my second box from Dia & Co. and I am really pleased with it! I really feel that my stylist, Natalie, took my feedback and really applied it to her selections she made for me. Her choices were very thoughtful, but she also implemented more on trend items like the cold shoulder top that I may have never selected for myself. I am keeping the Eloquii skirt she picked for me; I just cannot say no to it and feel like the adaptability of it makes it such an incredible value.

The moral of the story is to always give feedback to your stylists, whether it is positive or negative. Being honest in communicating your likes and dislikes could lead to a really great box the following month. I am really eager to see what is in store for me next month even. You’re a knockout 😍

This seems like a really good sub especially if you do keep everything. And it sounds like the stylists are pretty creative too. I’m very tempted to subscribe.

Alex, you are the sweetest! And you totally should subacribe! My first box was iffy, but this second box was a home run!

Andrea

Does it sound weird to say that I totally fangirled when I realized it was your review that I was reading?

I love LOVE your review style and of course clothes style. You’re so sassy, bubbly and confident. You can totally pull of any style and make it yours. Teach me your ways!

Love all the clothes you received though my favorite is the blazer. It’s so versatile. And those red shoes! Definitely adorable.

Nicole Rieder

Awwwwwwwwwe, Andrea! You made my day with this comment! I so appreciate you enjoying my reviews because I really love to do them!

That blazer is pretty cute! The red shoes are by Doc Martens and probably the best $80 clearance I ever got!

Alex

Is it weird if I say ditto!! She’s a superstar to me too. Hahaha 😊

Karen

I think the only thing I would have sent back if I were you is the necklace. Everything else looked so good on you! Great style sense!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you so much, Karen!

Well, it ends up being a better value to keep the necklace since you get that percentage off. If I had decided to keep it all it is like $88 in savings I believe. Can’t beat that!

Naomi Harper came to my mind when the cold shoulder tops came in too!

Nicole Rieder

I was waiting to suddenly be called “Skeeter.” Hahahaha

I lol’ed. I didn’t know Mama’s Family had that much traction, but knew what you meant!

Nicole Rieder

The Harpers will forever relevant as far as I am concerned. Hahaha.

Jen

Um I LOVE your style and you are so pretty!! I can’t wait to see more reviews by you. Also I’m super jealous of your hair color.
Please share: where did you get those adorable red shoes?

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Jen! That so sweet of you to say. The shoes are by Doc Martens. I got them a few years back on clearance. One of my best purchases!

As for my hair, that is all my hairdresser’s doing! She is so indispensable!

Nice job styling these pieces! Everything looked good. I LOVE the cold shoulder look but it is EVERYWHERE. Getting a little tired of it… 🙂 you are smart to get versatile classics. (like the pencil skirt.)

Nicole Rieder

Thanks so much for reading my review, Noelle. Yeah, I can’t go anywhere without seeing the cold shoulder tops. Some I like, but some I can’t get into at all. This one I really liked!

Awe Elle Em, I am sure you have awesome style too! But thank you!

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

I love the top in your first outfit! Where is that from? The print is amazing…!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you! It is actually a cover up that I bought from Target last year! I wear it tucked in as a shirt with jeans and skirts often.

Reply ButtonReply

Loba

Love how you styled these pieces. You look ah-mazing!

My favorite is the skirt. You rocked that outfit! I also love that the jacket is blue. It feels like in black it would be more expected.

The only piece I didn’t like was the last top. I think the pattern with the cut makes it feel dated. You definitely put a smile on my face. I haven’t thought about Mama’s Family in years. I actually thought Peggy Bundy when I saw that top (although she would have problem worn it with tight leggings).

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Loba! I am a big fan of skirts like that paired with band/novelty shirts. It is a sassy dressier way of wearing them.

And that is funny you say that about Peg Bundy— I almost paired that top with a pair of black Disco pants. I would have definitely looked like Peg in that get up! Hahaha. She is one of my style icons so I can get behind that. Haha.

And true on the navy over the black for the jacket. You make a great point!

Thank you again for checking out my review. I always love your comments!

Please tell me where the Street Walkin’ Cheetah tee came from? I need this in my life!

Nicole Rieder

Thank you, Sarah! Isn’t it amazing? I got it when I was out in Oakland, CA for Burger Boogaloo. You can get it at http://www.rockrollrepeatforever.com! Thanks for checking out my review! 😊

Sara

I LOVE the first outfit, so bright and colorful!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole Rieder

Thank you so much! I figured the Target top would pair well with that blazer rather than wearing a basic white or a striped top. Thanks again for checking out my review, Sara!
