I’m glad to see The Poisonwood Bible, published in 1998. It’s one of my all-time favorites and this reminds me to read it again.

This sub was the first I cancelled…and I’m a huge reader! The choices aren’t interesting. I also gifted this sub to a friend who also lost interest quickly. Better off finding my own reads it turns out

Beth, did you find an alternative sub? I like BOTM and the pricing is good especially for someone who goes thru books as much as I do. I used to sub to Indiespensible but I cancelled that. I would love more book subs if you find any other good ones

I chose The Child, Final Girls and American Fire. I read about 1 book a week so this sub keeps me well supplied. 👍😜

will you read american fire first? the comparisons to one of the greatest novels of ALL TIME (in cold blood- written by capote and HARPER LEE) is throwing me off from selecting it. love to read thoughts by readers. thanks!

I just finished this book. I can see the comparison to In Cold Blood because the tone is similar. In no way is it in the same league. It was good, not great.
Simple, easy and engaging.

You got it! i will report shortly after I read it. These comparisons always make me a little leary as my expectations shoot sky high. I’ll try to be objective. In Cold Blood remains one of the best true crime books ever written.

I chose Goodbye,Vitamin. Not something I would normally read.

I am going for American Fire. I am currently reading Gay’s Bad Feminist and enjoying it, but I am not sure Hunger is for me.

Chris

I selected American Fire too. 🙂

Predictably, I picked Final Girls, lol. I will probably pass it on to one or more of my sisters after I read it. We’re all fans of the Scream franchise.
