Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser - .33 fl oz, Value $1.13
I love Michael Todd products. This cleanser is paraben-free, mineral oil-free, and has no artificial dyes or fragrances. Charcoal is great for pulling oil and dirt and such out of your pores and it’s combined with tea tree and aloe vera to purify and calm your skin. This formula felt gentle on my skin and still left it feeling clean.
Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum in Sunrise – 10 ml/.35 fl oz (Full Size!), Value $16
A full-size product! I’ve never heard of this brand before, so this is a new discovery for me. This blush has a ton of pigmentation. I found it to be a little intense but if you work with it and use a light hand it really pays off subtly.
Here’s a swatch of the blush serum, and then I blended it out a little on the bottom here. A little goes a long way so this tube can last forever.
Here it is on – I used a small amount (you can always add more but can’t add less!) on my ring finger and tapped to blend along my cheek.
R+Co Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste - .25 oz, Value $3.18
I’ve seen this before in Birchboxes, but I have to admit that I am just not a big fan. It smells good and works pretty well, though! My issue comes with the application… I am an aerosol dry shampoo girl all the way. I hate getting product on my hands. Original, though!
Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer - .24 fl oz, Value $2.52
This cream has great reviews! I like the way it makes my skin feel – the formula is light and creamy and absorbed well into my skin with no oily after-feel. I think the scent is a little perfumey to me, but it’s citrus/floral so it could be worse. I like the performance but I don’t think I’m personally sold to buy full-size based on my own preferences.
Eau de Cartier eau de parfum – sample vial
I know I’m not alone feeling pretty meh about getting a perfume sample in my subscription boxes, so I’m pleasantly surprised when I end up actually liking it!
This fragrance is right up my scent personality aisle with vanilla, balsam, amber, and citrus.
Verdict: This was a pretty good Birchbox for me. I got to try a few new-to-me products, but I don’t feel wowed by anything enough to go purchase something full-size this month. Although I am happy that one of my samples was a full-size product! As far as value goes, everything adds up to $22.83, which is on the low end from what I’m used to from Birchbox, but not bad when you compare to the $10 price. Overall, I’m satisfied this month, but not wowed.
What do you think about Birchbox? What sample did you choose for July?
