Every month they include an info card detailing the items and their values.
This month featured the third Nomadik Instagram challenge. Participants are eligible to win a limited edition Nomadik box with an exclusive product mix!
Also this month we get a recipe card from Fresh Off The Grid. The recipe is for Campfire Nachos, and it sounds pretty great! Fresh Off The Grid seems to have a ton of info, from reviews to recipes and lots more. Will definitely be bookmarking it as a resource for future trips!
We also get a coupon for 20% off at the Speaqua store. They have their Barnacle series of speakers and some accessories to ensure you’re never without your jams.
And they threw in a Modern Hiker sticker this month too.
Wildo Camp-A-Box (Light model) – Value $13.30 (retail price $15)
First up this month we’ve got the Camp-A-Box Light from Wildo! I received a version of this box from another sub earlier this year, and I’ve already gotten a lot of use out of it. A few of my camping friends have asked about it and now I’ve got one to share! The Wildo Camp-A-Box comes with two bowl/plate pieces, a collapsible cup, and a combination fork/knife/spoon. The collapsible Foldacup is great for measuring (it’s exactly 8oz), especially for semi-precise stuff like freeze-dried meals. It’s also got a little handle so it could handle hot stuff safely. The utensil is pretty rigid and kinda sharp, I think you’d be able to work your way through a campfire steak if you had the patience… I don’t. The two bowl/plates lock together pretty securely too, and there’s a little bit of space so you could pack in some ingredients, condiments, whatever inside. I think this is a really solid little mess kit!
Simple Shower – Value $9.99 (original retail price $13)
Up next we have this handy item called the Simple Shower that turns any standard mouth water bottle (1-2 liter bottles, including Platypus brand bottles!) into a shower! I’ve seen camping showers in the past and they can be bulky complicated things, but this little guy is sized just right for a backpacker. While the water rushes out fairly quickly, it’s certainly enough time to wet shorter hair and upper body, and probably about enough to get a quick rinse in with a second bottle. If you leave a couple of full bottles out in the sun for a bit, maybe while making breakfast, you could have a pretty nice shower experience on the trail! The cap includes 2 different lengths of vent piping to accommodate shorter or longer bottles. The packaging didn’t fix in the Nomadik box so it came loose in the main box, which wasn’t a big deal to me.
Bananagrams – Value $12.48 (retail price $14.99)
Finally this month we have Bananagrams! This is the perfect addition to a camping box - it’s fairly light and provides hours of entertainment, and it can be played virtually anywhere. This particular kit comes with some extra blank/wild tiles which can really speed up the game! I like that the tiles come in a plastic zip bag within the canvas zip banana bag - I’m not sure if this is just for shipping but I plan on keeping the tiles in there especially when camping.
Verdict: Nomadik did well this month, as usual! I’m already getting use out of the Camp-A-Box from another sub, and I know my friends are going to enjoy Bananagrams on our next outing. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, and the value of everything this month adds up to $42.99, or $35.77 if you are bargain hunting for each item. That still exceeds the monthly $31 price tag, and we haven’t factored in the curation or exposure to Fresh Off The Grid. After seeing the spoilers for June, I’m really looking forward to next month’s box too!
