Bulu Box June 2017

Bulu Box seems to be tinkering with their information cards lately. This month, the Bulu Box app is highlighted. There was also some product literature.

Bulu Box June 2017

Berkeley Life Heart Health Supplement (2 tablets and 2 test strips) – Value $1.33 (buy 60 tablets and 10 test strips for $39.99)

This contains a bunch of potassium nitrate, some vitamins, and then some plant extracts that are supposed to convert the nitrate to nitric oxide, which is supposed to regulate blood pressure. (Increasing nitric oxide is also what Viagra does…) Anyway, I am holding off on this for health reasons until I see a doctor since I am extremely cautious about supplements and interactions. Also, hypertension is really not something you should treat yourself for at home.

De la Cruz Sulfur Ointment (10%, 0.21 oz) – Value $0.34 (buy a 3 pack of 2.6 oz jars for $12.51)

I have definitely had luck treating breakouts with sulfur in the past (that’s what this product is for, though it’s not obvious from the name) so I am happy to try this. My skin is not too bad right now but I did try some out and it didn’t irritate me. I’ll hang on to this for my next breakout. 0.21 ounces doesn’t sound like a lot but you use so little of this at once, it will actually last a long time.

Bulu Box June 2017

Myrtol 300 Dietary Supplement (20 capsules) – Value $19.95

Every now and then, you get a full-sized supplement that more than makes up for the cost of the box. This product contains some essential oils that are supposed to help reduce mucus production and ease respiratory congestion. Now, I could totally use a product like this, but it has gelatin in the capsules, so I am unable to try it. If anyone wants to make a vegetarian version I would be interested!

Om3gafort Omega-3 for Her (10 softgels) – Value $10 (buy a 30-pack for $29.99)

I would totally recommend omega-3 fatty acids to anyone who has trouble with their triglycerides (I used to, but I don’t any longer!). This also has resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant found in grape skins (among other places). Unfortunately, this is fish-oil-based omega-3 and the capsules also contain gelatin, so I am unable to try it. (If you are not vegetarian and you got this version of the box, though, you did pretty well this month.)

Bulu Box June 2017

Your Super Foods Energy Bomb (5g) – Value $1 (buy a 30-serving package for $29.90)

This has acai, guarana, maca, lucuma, and banana powders. Guarana is naturally caffeinated. Anyway, my idea for this was to put it in a smoothie, where it worked pretty well (I need all the help I can get in the morning).

Choice Organic Teas Immune Support (shiitake turmeric, 2 bags) – Value $1.25 (buy 2 assorted, 16-count boxes for $19.95)

I love tea and, while I don’t like EATING mushrooms, it’s a texture thing. I don’t mind the flavor. That being said, I just can’t get past the feeling with these that I am drinking broth instead of tea. So these will probably not be a regular purchase.

Bulu Box June 2017

Dolcetto Petites Chocolate Wafer Bites (0.7 oz x 2) – Value $1.50 (buy a 24 pack for $17.95)

I’m not sure how these relate to health, other than that they are 100 calorie packs. I’m familiar with these from Love with Food (maybe not this flavor) and they are pretty good. They have a thin, crispy shell on the outside and a creamy filling.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $35.37 for the June Bulu Box. That is an excellent value for this subscription (even more so since I paid $5 with a $5 for life coupon).  It would be even better if I could’ve tried all the items but, unfortunately, several of them were not vegetarian. (Although you can fill out a profile, this subscription does not do customization based on dietary preferences or allergies.)  If you get a couple of months in a row with a low value, it is usually worth it to hang on, because every now and then, you do get a month like this.

I’d strongly recommend using ourMYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Also, don’t forget to review your items for points to spend on merchandise in the Bulu Box shop.

I received all but the women’s Omega 3. I wonder if they just forgot to throw it in or if the boxes just vary. I feel kind of sad knowing i got a box with less product and value, but I pay the same price as others😪. I really do love this box. I always look forward to new products. The lung function caps are my favorite item in this box.

Great reviews. I’m newer to Bulu, and this is my first weight loss box.. I was more impressed with the other box.
The items were good, but very minimal quantity…1 wafer bag, 1 tea bag, 1 tablet of Crush Crave (to reduce sweet craving), a smallpacket of coconut oil, and 1 packet pumpkin protein powder
My reward points were to expire today, the 20th, I was shopping Saturday18th afternoon and points disappeared suddenly from my account.
I did email them. My last email to them took over a week to get a response.
Not sure if this is normal? Being newer, some of this leaves me wondering if I should switch back to other box? Or, cancel account?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

I usually forget to review the items so I don’t end up shopping with points too often. I would wait for a response to the email; that seems the best bet. I have only contacted them a few times but it seems like I did get a response in 2-3 days.

I think the weight loss and regular boxes have a lot of overlap, and sometimes you will have a lower value month with either or both of them. This subscription is best if you consider the average over time.

I received a very similar box for the weight loss version with a couple exceptions. I thought this month was a great box, as I also get the 5 buck deal. Very pleasantly surprised at the value!! Go bulugans- keep it up!! 😉 Thank you for the helpful review as always, Ragan!

I got some overlap with the weight loss version, as well. Not sure when that will post.

(Once I got the exact same box for both versions but they did replace one when I contacted them about it.)
