Birchbox Limited Edition: Walking On Sunshine Box Review + Coupon

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

The Birchbox Limited Edition: Walking on Sunshine is one of the latest Limited Edition box from Birchbox! (This is available to everyone – not just Birchbox subscribers.)

This box is all about summer – beauty and lifestyle products perfect for sunny days and warm weather!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box: Birchbox Limited Edition: Walking on Sunshine

The Cost: $46 ($190 Value)

COUPON: Check out all the free gift with purchase coupons. Or coupon code TAKE15 to save 15%!

And don’t forget to add your free mystery sample pack!

The Products:

Each box comes with a sheet of paper detailing all the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Floatie Kings Strawberry Donut Floatie – Value $30

We have to start the review off with a fun item, right!? This donut is bright, colorful, and a well-made float! (It comes with a patch, too, just in case.)

Plus it reminds me of the classic donut from the Simpsons, so that’s always a nice bonus!

Tory Sport Performance Visor – Value $35

And with just two items, we’re already over the cost of the box! Props to Birchbox for including Tory Sport in this box, too!

Ths canvas visor has a thick elastic band that fit me well and comfortably! (Most hats are too small for me, so this was a great surprise.)

The only tiny issue I have with this visor is that the inner part that touches your forehead is white. (Which means it’s going to have my foundation on it soon!) I think I’ll use this with some sunglasses on non-makeup days.

This box also included a unique coupon code to save $50 off of your next Tory Sport purchase of $150 or more!

Kopari Coconut and Rose Toner – 2 oz Value $9.40

I’ve sampled other Kopari coconut products before, and I love their ingredient-conscious. And this toner didn’t let me down! The scent is sweet and subtle, and the mist is fine – making this perfect for refreshing your skin throughout the day. (No worries about messing up your makeup, either.)

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium – .09 oz Value $13.40

I’m thrilled to see Bobbi Brown in a Limited Edition Birchbox!

I love a matte bronzer, and this one is well pigmented, with a very natural looking bronze color. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Smith & Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer in Fade the Sun – FULL SIZE! Value $22

This lip gloss provides a wash of color, a ton of shine, and just a touch of stickiness. (It doesn’t bother me enough not to wear it.)

(Swatched in lower photo.)

The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream – FULL SIZE! Value $10

I’ve sampled this highlighter before, and it’s fab. The formula is free of parabens, phthalates, etc. and it looks very shimmery/pigmented in the tube, but you can blend it into a subtle sheen. It’s great to add a few drops into your body lotion for an overall glow, too!

Here it is swatched beneath the bronzer and lip gloss:

Invisibobble Original – 3 Hair Rings Value $8

I’ve received these a few times before thanks to subscription boxes, but this peachy color is my favorite version yet! These are designed to keep your hair from getting any creases like you would with a typical hair band. I like these for working out, too – they keep my hair in place without having to be too tight.

Bumble and bumble. Surf Spray – 1.7 oz Value $10.80

This spray is designed to work on both damp or dry hair. It gave my hair a light texture, and I appreciate that the scent is clean and subtle, too.

PETER THOMAS ROTH Cucumber Gel Mask – 1 oz Value $10.40

This mask is a light, cooling gel. It’s cooling, refreshing, and everything you’d expect from a cucumber mask! It’s designed to help soothe and hydrate skin, and I felt it delivered. My skin felt smoother after I removed it. It wasn’t a game-changing mask for me, but I’ll use up the whole sample. (Birchbox also recommends storing this in the fridge for extra cooling!)

COOLA® Sunless Tan Dry Oil Body Mist – 15 ml Value $6.30

COOLA® Sunless Tan Anti-Aging Face Serum – 10 ml Value $9.20

The serum is definitely a GRADUAL self-tanner! I didn’t see any changes with one use, but I’m hoping if I use it every night I’ll start to see a subtle tan.

The Dry Oil Mist is pretty impressive. You have to rub it in, but it absorbs almost immediately. (No oily skin, and/or waiting for your self-tanner to dry!) And the color that developed was subtle and very natural looking.

And I am happy to report that neither products smell like self-tanner! If you were hoping for the typical tropical cocktail scents of COOLA SPF products, you will be disappointed, but otherwise, these are the best smelling self-tanners I’ve come across.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $165! I think that’s great for the $46 cost, and even better if you use coupon code TAKE15 and get it for $39.10! Plus I love the two lifestyle items in this box – so fun and summery!

  1. Got mine today. Surprised at how well the lip lacquer looks on me. I was afraid it would appear artificial. Well coordinated box.

  2. I would really love to get this but the box is out of stock. Will it become available again?

  3. These are out of stock. Will more become available?

  4. I got my box last weekend, and was really happy with it. The only thing I would have liked would have been if a hot pink nail polish was included.
I wore my hat last night out for a drive with top down on a warm evening and it stayed in place. I’m happy I bought the box 🙂

  5. Does the Tory Sport coupon have any restrictions like full price items only and can it be used at the outlets?

    • The coupon says not valid at Tory Burch stores, Toryburch . com, or outlets. It also says it cannot be combined with any other promotion, but it doesn’t say anything about sale merchandise. I’m not going to use mine and would be happy to give you the code if you are interested.

      • Lindsay that is so kind of you!! I don’t think I will use it since it cannot be used at the outlets though so I do not want it to go to waste. Thank you so much for the info and offer though!

  6. I would LOVE the donut float but nothing else from this box is needed. My swap profile is attached to my name if you click on it for anyone who happens to love all the skincare / makeup but maybe doesn’t want the float. A girl can dream right?? Lol

    • I saw that same float at Wal-Mart for $20

  7. Do you have to worry about any streaking when using the self tanners? I always have problems getting it applied evenly and everywhere… (I love tarte’s self tanning wipes bc they’re so easy to use and I’ve never had a problem with streaking)

  8. I just received this box and am so pleased! I agree about the visor….they usually look silly and too small on me, but this is just right! All the products are great…especially the self tanners. I’m pretty fair and steer clear of self tanners because they make me look ridiculous, but these were just right. The donut float will be a cute hostess gift for my friend who has young kids (and a pool). I would definitely recommend this box!

    • What a perfect hostess gift! You can’t help but smile when you see this float! 🙂

Glad to hear the self-tanners were a good fit for you, too!
