Their first item in the box is a welcome card with some info about the brand, and where to find them on social media. It's always nice when making crafts to see other people's creations, so they encourage lots of sharing!
Empower Poster Kit (Ages 8+) - Value $15.99
This first kit is to make a decoupage poster to "celebrate yourself." I can definitely see this being a fun craft for middle schoolers. Personal identity is such a big part of those years!
The instructions on both kits were very detailed and helped you to reproduce the project to be exactly like the photograph on the box. To form the background, you draw a starburst shape and fill it in by gluing down torn pieces of tissue paper. Then to finish, you coat with more glue and apply your empowerment words.
Materials included:
Colored tissue paper in a rainbow of colors...
A big container of glue plus a foam brush for applying...
And a whole series of cutout shapes and words. None of these were perforated or pre-cut in any way, and there were sure a lot of them to pick through to find the ones I wanted! They get very specific!

This kit is definitely geared toward a younger age range, so it's not specifically my taste, but thanks to the detailed instructions the results were good and definitely look as pictured!
My only real pet peeve with this is the backing material: it's a piece of white cardboard, which you almost might think was packaging material (we almost threw it away!). I think if you are going to dedicate significant time to a project, you should at least have a canvas or something a bit nicer to have at the end of it.
Craft-Tastic Dream Catcher Kit (Ages 8+) - Value $16.99
(I actually received this same kit in the Target Arts & Crafts Box too, so I think it's a newer product.)
Once again, the instructions are very detailed and clear, to help you re-create this project as pictured.
A variety of feathers, yarns, cutout paper, and pom-poms make up the included materials. There is a lot of wrapping, tying knots, and small bits in this project– it took me several hours (and a glass of wine) to complete both dream catchers:
Again, the results were great! I do love the bright colors and think this is a fun project for a younger teen, but there were some really finicky bits (like attaching those pom-poms with wire) that definitely required extra attention to detail.
Verdict: The Ann Williams Monthly Craft Box is definitely one to consider if you're looking for a monthly dose of creativity for yourself or your kids. This review only covered the teenage age range, but they have different kits for younger kids and adults, too. Overall, I'd say the projects aren't quite as 'artisanal' as The Crafter's Box, but they are more affordable, and the kits in the adult age range definitely have a hip modern vibe in more subdued color palettes that have a broad appeal.
Value-wise, for $24.99 we received 2 kits that would normally retail for just over $30, so I'd have to say that this is slightly better value than the Target Art & Craft Kit Subscription for Kids, too. This could be a good subscription to check out for anyone who misses their Darby Smart box!
