The information card told the theme this month: Lollipops and Bees. It explained the STEM princess characteristic of the month: Determination. It also listed each item in the box and had a small piece of literature about beekeepers.

Characteristic Card

This month’s characteristic card is about determination. This card encourages your princess to be determined and focus on their goals bit-by-bit. I thought this card was a good chance for self-reflection.

Flowered Crown – Value $5.00?

The crown rested gently on my daughter’s head. It is green-coated wire with tons of leaves and pink and white flowers. The pale pink ribbon hangs down her back delicately. She adores her crown!

Petal Pink Princess Dress – Value $20.00?

My daughter loved her shimmery pink dress. It has short cap sleeves and lots of shimmery details. There is a large crystal brooch at the neckline. This month’s dress has snaps down the back which made it so easy to get on and off. I hope that dresses in the future have the snaps instead of the side zipper.

Time for Kids: Bees! By Editors of TIME for Kids – Value $3.99

Each month Tutu Royal sends a TIME for Kids book which goes along with the theme. These paperback books are filled with interesting facts and colorful large photographs. My daughter has been getting more into nonfiction books because of Tutu Royal and for that, I’m so thankful. This book discussed bees’ bodies, making honey, living in hives and making honey.

Jumbo Swirl Lollipops – Value $1.25 (buy 6 for $7.49)

This lollipop is huge and gorgeous. My daughter literally gasped when I opened the box and she saw this rainbow colored sweet surprise. She said she needed to take a picture pretending to eat it.

Verdict: My daughter adores the Tutu Royal box and I was happy to see how much was included for the $20 (plus shipping) price point. I am estimating the value of the box to be around $30 which I’m very happy with. I like the idea that this box is mixing princess dress-up fun with an emphasis on education, STEM, and confidence boosting literature as well. I also appreciate that with each subscription purchased Tutu Royal donates a subscription to an adoption agency. What a lovely idea.

Jessica’s addiction started off slowly enough with Birchbox, but it has grown and grown over the last three years. An elementary school librarian and mom of two she loves boxes that are child-centric. But she’ll never turn down a good fashion, beauty or tasty treat subscription.

  1. Hollywood here she comes!!

    • Haha! You may be right!

  2. She is such a cutie and may she never outgrow her crown. I am 53 and still have at least 10 dried flower crowns that I wear, usually to Renaissance Faire, but sometimes for a night out.

    • Thanks, Lola! And I love that you have flower crowns too!

  3. Now she’s one beautiful, sassy princess if ever I’ve seen one! Such a cutie! I think my nieces would love this sub. I do my best to hook as much of my family on subscriptions as possible; it makes my own obsession look less odd 😂

    • Thanks, EC! I agree; getting my friends and family addicted to subscriptions makes me feel better about my own addiction!

  4. omg, she’s so adorable 🙂

    • Thank you! She definitely keeps me on my toes. 😂
