Green + Yellow Money Socks
This is the first pair I pulled out of the envelope. It features stacks of money and dollar signs. The toe and heel are a pale yellow color which pops from the dark green of the rest of the sock. Since these are the April socks, they went with a "tax season" vibe on these. I'm not crazy about this design, but I get what they are going for with these. In a world of Kardashians and Real Housewives, many people are definitely living in excess these days.
My favorite part is the little panda head at the top.
The "one for one" quote on the bottom of the foot reminds you that you are helping someone in need.
Lady Legs with a Chained Tiger Socks
Here we have the second pair. It features the mostly lower half of a woman in a dress and heels, holding on to a chained tiger. Staying with the "excess" theme, Sock Panda was inspired by the Lorde song "Royals", which I didn't pick up on, but now totally get listening to the song. Not all of us can live large like they do in reality TV or music videos, but these socks will lend a tiny bit of luxury to your perhaps not-so-glamorous life.
From Lorde's "Royals":
But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece/Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash/We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair.
I popped these on my piggies and thought they were definitely breathable socks for more of the warmer seasons. The quality is nice, and I have to give them snaps on their unique design, even if it's not my style.
Verdict: This month's Sock Panda sock designs were not really "me", but the quality is nice, and the designs are surely to be ones that other people don't own. As far as the value goes, these run $9.50/pair if you go with the 2 pack, but it's definitely worth calling out that they give a pair to someone in need with each pair you pay for, so it makes you feel good about your purchase!
