I feel like they are offering these deals bc this is the time in the season where all the seasonal boxes are coming out. Because of that I feel like they have to have some sort of deal to get people to choose their box and also, like people mentioned above, their 6 month Black Friday deals have ended so they are also potentially losing customers there.

Should I wait for a better deal? My subscription ends in two months and I want to get a deal to hold me off until Black Friday but wonder if they will come out with a better deal to keep all their Black Friday subscribers subscribed and content as they are to lose many

I really don’t want to be negative, but after my experience with LLB and their recent demise…I can’t help but be a little concerned. In the three years I’ve subscribed to PSMH, they’ve NEVER offered discounts outside of Black Friday. Until now….and two right in a row? It is perfect timing for those of us who bought six month subs on Black Friday though.

I actually have the same concern. They suddenly seem a little desperate. I feel like less people as subscribing based on the comments lately. They have started with the mystery boxes relatively recently and they are becoming more and more frequent. There’s an increase in sales, and they aren’t advertising an abnormally high value June box. It just makes never think that they aren’t in the best shape at the moment, just like LLB.

That’s not true, though. Last year when my Black Friday deal was up, they offered another 6-month deal and I wound up re-subbing. I don’t remember exactly how much it was off, but it was a lot more than $15.

I cancelled completely the other day after I went month to month after the 6 month BF deal. They charged me for a 2nd May box and in order to get refunded I would have to send it back and then provide them with a tracking number blah, blah, blah. I have never missed a PSMH monthly box in 3 years but have cancelled until a black Friday deal or mystery boxes only. When I signed up for new sub last week it clearly said your box will begin with the JUNE box. Arg. Am sticking to only PS Limited Editions until Black Friday deal or something better than the $2.50 off per month they are offering now. I signed up for Happy Rebel instead to spend my sub money on 🙂

Something similar happened to me back in November 2015 when I bought the Black Friday deal – I ended up with two November boxes, which meant two of those dreaded Bingo games! Thank goodness they introduced the “upgrade” button so we can extend current subs without accidentally ordering two of the same box.

After the MSA review of the May box I really wanted it but when I went to the website I agree that it clearly said it was to reserve a spot for the JUNE box, which I wasn’t sure I wanted. Initially that made me not sign up. But then someone commenting here pointed out that in fine print it says something like *if the current month’s box becomes available, we will send it to you immediately. So that actually convinced me to sign up and hope I got the May one….and about 6 hours later I got an email confirming that a May box had become available and I would be sent that (despite the website saying new subscribers would be reserving a spot for the June box….if you didn’t see the fine print). It is kind of deceiving. I also cancelled after I got my May box. The spoilers this month don’t really appeal to me and the discount isn’t enough to entice me. I might reconsider if a good Black Friday deal comes around again this year….

It’s just an assumption on my part, but I think they are doing this because so many people’s Black Friday deals are up and the are unsubscribing now. I also assume that’s why as a non-subscriber I was able to score discounted October, November and December boxes and we’ve had sooooooo many mystery boxes with the same contents….last year’s surplus inventory after people’s 6 month deals were up. BUT I haven’t been able to score the past few month’s boxes at a discount (except that jelly red March box). I really wanted May’s box so I finally bit the bullet and subscribed to get that one but just unsubscribed today so I wouldn’t get the June box. The spoiled pouch is cute but I already have a waterproof one from FFF. I’m not a mermaid kind of girl and it sounds like the best guesses for the other two hints are wave spray (have enough of that already too) and a book (I’m picky about my reads). So June would just not be worth it to me. Sounds like they might need to start doing full year Black Friday deals or an equivalent “black friday” type deal in May now to keep people subscribed for the second half of the year….

You save an additional $2.50 off each box for the 6 months. But a 6 month sub is already discounted from the regular monthly rate. I think the total box cost for either the 6 month or 3 month deal came out to be just over $33.
