I live in. Columbus Ohio. I tried to sign up to go, but they had no slots available. I was in need of a few items and would have purchased them while I was there. Oh well, money saved.

I went to the one held at Memorial City Mall location (Houston) and the “goodie bags” were not handed out. They didn’t make it to the store on time. They took the names and numbers of those of us there and said they would call when they came in.

Hi all! I made it to the play date in CA and a corporate marketing person was there as well. Afterwards I stayed & chatted with her. She’s making the rounds of the playdate locations. Some are rural, some cities. They are looking at the demographics, the value of them, etc. They are expanding them slowly and deciding where to go. She said at one location two sisters travel over an hour to get there and its a highlight of their month.
She had not heard of MSA (shocking!) and I told her I see all the sample choices and sometimes have box envy. . .but attending the playdate, I often think Sephora packed my box correctly. I also told her that there are comments about the bag design, contents, etc. and she should look at it for feedback. — I think if interested, you should contact sephora and tell them you’d like a play location, where you live & how far you would be willing to travel. – I got the striped bag (would have liked the other better), but someone entering the store asked about how to get it as I was leaving. . . I also got samples of products I didn’t get in my box to try. The playdate is fun!

It’s probably based on the amount of subscribers they have in those areas. My local sephora doesn’t have play dates but at the same time I am not surprised. I don’t particularly live in a place where I could see there being many subscribers. I think we should cut them some slack, they’ve only been doing this a year. I am guessing they are still trying to figure things out. There have been changes. For example, the play box was only available in certain places and eventually they opened it. There used to be only one box, then there were two variations, then 4, and it seems there will be 6 now, so I am sure they are doing their best to grow, it just takes time.

So annoying that they send reminders every month yet have never had a play date closer than 4 hours from Austin Texas. This was part of the first play box launch August 2015. Been subscribed ever since. Don’t need to know what I’m missing

That’s what I was thinking! I was so surprised there wasn’t one around Austin! I was totally disappointed!

Yeah, wasn’t this only if you lived in middle-of-nowhere Texas or never-heard-of-it Ohio? Why don’t they have these in actual metropolitan cities?

I thought so too.
I’m in Texas, but I remember seeing Corpus Christi and amother location far away.
The website wouldn’t let me register for a Play Date. The closest one to me is usually in Houston (Memorial City Mall) but I live about 40-50 minutes away, north of Houston.
I normally don’t attend, but seeing as this was the anniversary, I was really wanted to attend. However the website wouldn’t let me chose a location to register.

I live about 30-40 minutes away from the Houston location where they have the play dates. I work on that side of town so I just stay there until the time for the play date. You don’t have to register, if you know when the play dates are you can just show up. They won’t deny your participation in the event.

Got the striped bag, nothing special but would’ve preferred the other bag and got to bring home samples from the box since my bix hadn’t arrive yet.

It would be nice if they would send us a bag, to those who live far from a play date store. Even if they made it…say an hour or more away.
I’m not driving 4 hours (one way) for it.

I got one of the striped bags as a promotional gift on opening day for a new Sephora that opened in my city. It’s a useful bag, but nothing special. I just added it to my stash of reusable shopping bags.

I’m pretty sure that floral bag was a recent VIB Rouge gift too. I got the coupon for it maybe two weeks ago, but it didn’t appeal enough to me to make a special trip just to get it.

It was, but you also had to spend I think $35 to get it. Maybe $25. I don’t recall and I’m not in the mood to go see if I still have the email. 🙂 Also, the print’s much nicer on the computer than in person– you can kind of tell in this photo here, but it’s really like a pointillism painting, a whole bunch of little dots. It kind of makes me dizzy. (I didn’t know that before I checked out.)
But I went and got it anyway because someone somewhere (probably here, LOL) suggested it’d be a good size for like a curling iron. I don’t have a bag big enough for that, so I thought this one would work.

I emailed Sephora Play and these invites and the monthly play dates are no good at JC Penny Sephoras, so those of us who are getting this sub box don’t get to take advantage of these perks that are “included”. Just might be another reason why their membership is declining. I was on the fence, but this sealed the deal! Why should I pay the same as those who get an added perk?!?!

I would actually call your local JCP Sephora. I live in Papillion (not the largest city) and are JCP Sephora does Playdates

Honestly, if all you get is a bag, I could care less if the locations are limited. But I do not understand why ALL Sephoras don’t participate. I’m in a large city, and none of my Sephoras offer the Play dates. Wonder why its pick and choose? Its certainly not something I would cancel my sub over, but just curious. I don’t really think about what others are getting that I’m not getting, I more consider; “is what I’m getting worth $10/month?” My answer has always been yes to this sub.
