Bullymake Dog Subscription Box - May 2017

Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog (Nyx weighs about 86 right now; she has changed weight in the past few months due to medication issues).

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Toys-only, 80-pound, $39 a month, box.

Bullymake Dog Subscription Box - May 2017

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $39 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12-month subscriptions)

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Ships to: USA (free!) and Canada for $8

Good to know: if you want a toys-only box, you must select that during sign-up. Otherwise, you will get the default box, which does include some treats.

Not all boxes are the same due to the fact that you can choose your dog’s size in 10-pound increments, choose a toys-only box, etc., but there is usually an information card highlighting an item or two from the box.

Asteroid Ball by Bullymake – Value $16

Nyx likes ball toys so this was a win. She tries to shove multiple ball toys in her mouth at the same time. Her best effort to date was two tennis balls, but I think she can do this one and a tennis ball if she tries. (No photos with this toy because a black ball in a black dog’s mouth doesn’t show up very well…)

Pet Qwerks Antler (chicken flavor, large) – Value $11.99

Nyx loves these things. We have had several in the past and they have not aggravated her IBD, so I let her have them. Don’t leave your dog unsupervised with one, though – they are not meant to be eaten, but Nyx did eat about 90% of a similar toy once (passed through and didn’t cause any harm, but better safe than sorry).

Space Hammer by Alien Flex – Value $16

I am pretty sure we’ve had these from one box or another in the past, but Nyx likes them and the bacon flavoring doesn’t aggravate her IBD. As with the antler, this is not meant to be eaten, so do supervise your dog. Sometimes heavy chewers don’t know when to quit! This is actually still in pretty good shape after a few sessions with Nyx.

Begood Rubber Chompy Tug – Value $12.37

This toy seems to be listed under several different brand names so I found what I think to be the same item and linked to it above. This is a tug toy and Nyx LOVES tug toys (no photos – it is nearly impossible to tug with Nyx using one hand and control the camera with the other, but rest assured, this was fun for her). I would probably not let her actively chew on this, but it is great for tugging – both she and I can get good grips!

Here are a few shots of Nyx enjoying a couple of toys from the box.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $56.36 for the May 2017 Bullymake Box. That is a good value for this subscription since all the toys are new, non-closeout items that could be purchased again if you wanted. It is well above the month-to-month cost of the subscription and everything has been pretty durable so far, which is the point! Plus, Nyx had fun, and that is really the most important thing.

Note: if you want a toys-only box, you must select that during sign-up. Otherwise, you will get the default box, which does include some treats.

I have a 120lb Newfoundland puppy who is 1 years old. He destroys all toys especially plush toys within mins. Looking for toys that he can’t destroy and last longer then a week. I came across this site so any feedback I can get will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Ragan.

Thanks for the review. This looks like a great box, and I’ve been looking for a replacement for BarkBox. My boys are power chewers, too, but they don’t have Nyx’s dietary restrictions. Do you know if the treats and toys box is typically as good a value as the toys-only box seems to be?

Thanks!

At least two of the toys will be the same in the version with treats. I did a review of the version with treats once, here is a link:

I don’t know if you can directly compare because the box was a lot newer then, plus values may differ depending on the dog size you put in, but it should give you a general idea, anyway.
