Inside you'll first find the info card that has a short bio about each purveyor included in this month's box.

The other card reminds you that these are all locally made goods curated by Batch and includes the web address where you can find out more. The packaging of this entire box is exquisite (that BOW!), and all of the items are presented in a beautiful way. Great job, Batch!

Walker's Classic Mojito Mix, 25 fl oz. - Value $12? (Couldn't find this particular mix online, so maybe it's new?)

How'd they know over at Batch that I love mojitos? This is a huge full-size bottle and includes a recipe for Walker's classic mojito on the label. Walker Feed Co. hails from Nashville, TN and is an all natural mixer that contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. I can drink to that.

Hester & Cook White Stemless Drinkware, set of 2 - Total Value $23.90 ($11.95/ea)

Speaking of drinking, the next item comes from wife and husband design team, Hester & Cook. These are stemless wine glasses made from an advanced durable polymer. They seem to be the perfect drinkware for a summer party. I know when I've had people over, and we've been "hittin the juice", glasses tend to get broken. Since these are virtually unbreakable and dishwasher safe, we can party hard knowing that no one is going to step in glass. I like the design of these and they certainly appeal to my minimal tendencies. It's also nice to know that they donate a portion of their sales to the nonprofit they established called Wonderful Life Foundation, which provides assistance to families of children undergoing cancer treatment.

Cheap Chicks Craft Soapery Flowerchild Bath Bomb - Value $5.00?

Another perfect Marne-item! I've been taking baths way more than ever before this year, and it's 100% because of my discovery of bath bombs (thanks Anna + Sarah @ MSA). I don't see this particular bath bomb in the Cheap Chicks Etsy store, so it may be exclusive to Batch. It smells wonderfully floral and is hand crafted in Nashville, TN by college friends Caleigh Griffin & Caitlin Roorda.

Wildflower Honey Lavender Caramels - Value $6.75? (1 dozen available at Oak and Salt for $13.50)

I love the short n sweet ingredients list to these. I exclaimed "OOOOHH" as I popped one of these incredibly soft caramels into my mouth and was immediately met with both the honey AND the lavender tastes on my tongue. These are hand crafted in small batches by San Antonio, TX by graduate of Texas A&M, mother-of-two, and wife, Ellyn who started making caramels in 2012 after. All of her ingredients are organic and fair trade.

TruBee Beeswax Lip Balm, 0.15 oz. - Value $4.00

I am admittedly a lip-product junkie. Lipstick, lip balm, lip scrubs, etc take up space in my purse, by bathroom, bedside table, car, you name it. This lil tube of beeswax balm packs a kick of peppermint that I LOVE. It's only 5 ingredients are sweet almond oil, beeswax, peppermint essential oil, vitamin E, and rosemary extract. I love all of those things! Made by another wife & husband duo, Laura & Jeff Kimble in the middle of Tennessee.

Turkish-T Tie-Dye Breeze Towel - Value $36.00

The last item, but certainly not the least, is a 100% Turkish cotton towel by Turkish-T. The one I got is a nice neutral tan-ish/tea stained color. This towel is super light weight and can be used as a wrap on the beach or poolside, as well! Truth be told, I will probably wear it as a lightweight scarf while it's still a little chilly at night! Even though I don't myself consider a tie-dye kinda gal, this one is subtle enough, and not in an intense color, and I like the little tassels on the ends.

Verdict: I am floored by this box! I honestly really love every item I received, and with a few, it was scary how right-on these were. As I said earlier, the presentation of the box was well-executed, and I feel like the items were well-curated to give it a very exclusive feel. All of the purveyors are small and hand or well made products that I feel very good about using and supporting. The cost clocked in at $87.65, which is about $11 under the $99 subscription fee, but it doesn't really bother me because you know individual shipping would throw that way over, and these are items you most likely can't find unless you are near their hometowns.

That drink mix and lip balm were featured products in their boxes one or two years ago — when they were doing the regular boxes. Nothing new here.

Ohhh, good to know! Being a newbie, I didn’t notice.

I liked the contents of this box. However, I am not willing to purchase a box that does not deliver (considerably) over the cost of the items as most times there will be at least one ‘miss’ in a box for subscribers. You can’t please everyone all the time, as they say. My take is that if I still get the value of a box not counting items that are not ‘for me’ then I am okay. That isn’t possible with the way this box is valued. Perhaps they will improve.

Seems like a completely reasonable way to go about choosing subscriptions! I don’t blame you there.
