The theme for April 2017 is Gudetama Easter!

Character Bento Set

I love using Bento boxes for packed lunches but my normal boxes are plain colors. This is a much more adorable way to eat my lunch! This two-tiered bento box was available in three variations. In addition to the Gudetama box I received, you could have received an Alice in Wonderland or My Melody box.

Here’s a closer look at the design on top. Too cute!

The top compartment of the bento box includes a pair of chopsticks. These are sturdy but the plastic was a little slick when I tried to grip them the first time. It wasn’t hard to get used to and I love the convenience of a top compartment for your utensils.

The bottom compartment is slightly smaller than the top. The top compartment also includes a divider which made me really happy. It’s adjustable to you can move it around to fit your needs.

The final step to this bento box is the strap to secure the closed box. This helps keep everything in place!

Gudetama Cup

There were five variations for this cup and I received the clear one. In some subscription boxes, variations can be really hit or miss but everything in YumeTwins is fun so I wouldn’t be upset with any of the variations! This cup is the perfect companion to my Gudetama bento box! My cups says “Gudetama makes my lovely lazy day” and features Gudetama lounging on some toast. The thick plastic feels sturdy and I love the textured look.

Shinada Easter Baby Nature

Each YumeTwins box includes a plush from Shinada. This month’s variations included a poodle, sheep, or porcupine. I got the porcupine and each plush has bunny ears! Shinada plushies always feel well-made and are very soft and squishy. I’ve really liked the variety of plushies YumeTwins has included each month.

Gudetama Ball Pen

This Sanrio pen features a couple image of Gudetama - one in a cracked egg and one in an adorable little raincoat! I can always use an extra pen and this cute is so cute!

Gudetama Rubber Magnet

The cover of the package shows the 6 variations of the magnet. How cute is the bumblebee Gudetama??

Yume-twins-april-2017-0026

I got this sleepy and sad little guy. The rubber magnet is pretty weighty and solid. This is a cute addition to my fridge!

Verdict: This month’s theme was Gudetama Easter! The only item that felt intentionally Easter-themed was the plush which was really sweet. The rest was definitely on the Gudetama side of the theme. I am a big fan of Gudetama so I really enjoyed everything this month. I think I lucked out with the Gudetama variation of the bento box because my entire box fits the theme. I think the value of YumeTwims boxes has stayed consistent. There’s always a plush and the rest of the items are officially licensed. This box included a couple smaller items (pen and magnet) but I think the bento box, cup, and plush evened out the cost of the box for me. The themes have also been really good lately!

I wonder if there are “specific” random boxes…

For instances, this box matches mine. I received the same plush, cup and bento box. The only variation was my blind “box”/packet was the bee magnet.

Or it could be simply coincidence.

I also got this same box, except for the magnet.

I bought this month’s box because I love Gudetama but I wound up getting the Alice bento box. I knew it was a gamble and I lost. If they did an all Gedetama like the Pusheen box I’d be all over it.
