The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.
Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. =The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Love Jivana Tridosha Balancing Skin Treatment and Essential Oil Blend (10 mL) – Listed Value $10
This was custom blended for Vegan Cuts. It came with a rollerball applicator but I removed that (easy to do) and applied it by pouring a bit on a cotton ball (I’m out of cotton pads right now), dabbing it on my face, and rubbing it in. It is a low viscosity oil without a strong scent and it didn’t interfere with makeup application. This has some ingredients that are supposed to calm the skin and promote a clear complexion, and that’s something I need right now, so I hope it works (I wouldn’t expect to see results after the one time I’ve used it so far). Since this is a custom item, I’ve used the value from the information card and linked to the Love Jivana shop up above.
Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Rose + Vanilla (2.65 oz) – Value $8.99
I know a lot of people are interested in natural deodorant in stick form rather than in a tub, and you get it here. This also smells nice. However, I am not trying to avoid aluminum in underarm products, and also my underarms are super sensitive to baking soda (which this contains), so I am going to pass this along to someone else.
Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum with Hyaluronic Acid (0.25 fl oz) – Value $3.06 (or buy a 2 oz. container for $24.50)
I don’t remember whether I’ve tried this before or not (that happens when you’ve been subscribing to beauty boxes for a couple of years), but I do like other Derma E products a lot and I like using vitamin C serums (antioxidant skincare is great for summer!). This was fairly lightweight and absorbed easily and the hyaluronic acid means it could even be used in place of a moisturizer if you want to reduce steps or use less product in the summer heat.
PHB Natural and Organic Lip Crayon in Tiger Lily – Value $10.58
The information card suggested using this as a lip liner or all over color. I wore it as an all over color today and after that experience, I’m going to recommend it as a liner only. It is kind of waxy (like a good lip liner should be) and I had to put a gloss over it to make it more moisturizing. I had to reapply it a few times and it is kind of time-consuming due to the narrow diameter. (Subscribers could have received one of several colors.)
Here is a swatch of the lip crayon.
The Granola Goat Green with Envy Dry Face Mask – Listed Value $6
Once again I managed to put way too much water in a dry face mask. I need to keep a measuring spoon in the bathroom to prevent this from happening in the future. But, I spread a thin layer of this over my face anyway. It contains spirulina, which in turn is a source of fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. I thought it did a good job of clearing out the pores on my nose (my standard for any clay mask) and it was easy to rinse off, which is also a bonus. Plus I have a little more left over and I’ll be more careful with the water next time… (I don’t know the size of this sample so I used the value from the information card.)
Naked Scrubs in Lemon (2 oz) – Value $5 (buy a 4 oz. container for $10)
First off, this was very well packaged in order to avoid any spillage incidents, which I definitely appreciate. This smells very nice and I like that there’s not a ton of oil (actually, the sugar/oil balance is just right for me, I’ve decided, after using this last night in the shower). This is good for maybe two uses for me but I am really heavy-handed with scrubs. And these are fairly affordable for handmade beauty products.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $43.63 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That’s right in line with the past few months and is almost double the cost of the subscription. I thought it was great that the value of the box was fairly evenly distributed, with three higher-dollar items instead of just one – this definitely reduces the risk. Most of the items can be used by anyone (*I* will wear orange lipstick, not sure everyone would, though), regardless of skin tone, and I was happy with the focus on skincare this month.
