I'm so happy they kept this adorable swiss dot packaging! I wonder if we'll start seeing Baby Boxes from Target more frequently now? (The last box was October 2016.)

This box came with an info card and a Target coupon good for $10 off a baby purchase of $50 or more. Before I subscribed to Honest Company, I bought all my diapers and formula from Target, so it's great to have these coupons on hand for items I'd be buying anyway!

Cerave Baby Healing Ointment, 3 oz (full size) - Value $10.49

In general, I think this is a great product for any new parent to have in their toolkit, and this size will literally last forever. This is a petroleum based product and is similar to Vaseline, which I know some parents avoid, but I feel like it has it's place. I know when my son was a newborn there were some rashes that just did not respond to anything but Vaseline, so I always recommend new parents have a variety of different products on hand when they're stocking their nursery.

This also includes some ingredients I'm more familiar with from my own skincare products: hyaluronic acid (which has powerful moisturizing properties) and ceramides (also helpful to retain moisture and treat eczema, which is common in newborns).

Waterwipes Baby Wipes, Travel Pack (10 wipes) - Value $1

When my son was first born, we did struggle to find wipes that didn't irritate his skin. These were on my list to try before I found Honest Company Wipes, but since we had success with those, I never had a chance to try Waterwipes out!

These are very simple, made with 99.9% water and just a tiny bit of grapefruit seed extract. The wipes themselves are a good size and texture, so they work great for cleanup - I'd say the texture is similar to Honest Wipes but actually slightly thicker and more fabric-like. These wipes aren't cheap, but if you are avoiding specific ingredients or having trouble with sensitive skin, they are definitely worth checking out.

Baby Dove Tip to Toe Wash, 1.8 oz - Value $1

Before I discovered Shea Moisture from the last Target box, I loved Baby Dove products! They all have that "fresh new baby" smell, and this is no exception. These small sizes are perfect for trying out a new product, or for stashing in the diaper bag for trips to Grandma's house.

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0007 Target-baby-box-april-2017-0008

Dapple Pure 'N' Clean Baby Laundry Detergent Strips, 0.9 oz sample - Value $1.50

I am so intrigued by this product! I really loved the Dapple Bottle Wash from the last Target Baby Box, too. These are strips of fragrance-free detergent that dissolve in the wash, and are also free of SLS, SLES, Parabens, and Formaldehyde. (Side note: Is there normally formaldehyde in detergent? That never occurred to me before as something I need to look out for!)

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0009

I love the idea of this product, because it seems a lot less wasteful than all the water added to liquid detergents. Plus when I'm hauling 1000 bags of groceries and diapers home from the store, the last thing I want to add is a giant heavy jug of detergent. This little pack includes enough for 5 loads and I can't wait to see how it compares.

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0010

Target also included a coupon for Dapple.

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0016

Aveeno Baby Continuous Protection 50 SPF Lotion, 0.5 fl oz - Value $1.75

Finding a good baby sunscreen... the struggle is real. My son loves to be outside though, so it's an important necessity for us, and I'm always trying new brands. This one seems to apply easily and doesn't have a super strong "sunscreen" smell, so I'm curious how well it will work next time we go to the pool. It's also advertised as tear-free, and provides UVA and UVB protection. I actually wish this was a bigger bottle, but again, the small size is handy to throw in our bag so we always have an extra on hand.

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0015

Raw Sugar Body Wash, 2 oz - Value $1

This is listed as "for you" on the info card. I originally expected it to be a sugar scrub because of the name, but it's a clear body wash gel. I personally do not care for vanilla scented soaps and lotions, but it did lather well and rinse without leaving my skin feeling noticeably dry. I also like this size of product to have on hand for guests or travel, so even if I don't love it, I'm sure it will get use!

UpSpring Coconut Oil Sample

I sort of rolled my eyes at this, because the last Target Baby Box also had a coconut oil based moisturizer, and it did not work for us. This is just 100% organic coconut oil in a single use packet. On one hand, I think having a lot of different products on-hand when baby arrives is important so you can figure out what works and what doesn't work for you. Coconut oil can be a great moisturizer and might help clear up baby eczema or skin rashes. On the other hand... it's literally just coconut oil. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0018 Target-baby-box-april-2017-0019

Oilogic Slumber Sleep Essential Oil Blend Sample

I'm not an essential oils expert by any means, so I always stayed away from using them on my kid. The packaging suggests that this blend of oils can be applied to the bottom of babies feet or the back of their neck and chest, to promote relaxation (and hopefully good sleep).

Target-baby-box-april-2017-0020

This contains lavender, chamomile, mandarin, orange, grapefruit, bergamot, jojoba, and castor oils. I really liked the scent and honestly will probably keep this to dab on my own wrists and temples when I'm feeling stressed.

Verdict: This box had a nice variety of products to try that would be great for any new parent to have in their arsenal. This box was lower in value than the first Target Baby Box, coming in with significantly more samples and around $16 worth of product (depending on how you value travel sizes and samples; most of the value is from the Cerave ointment).

For me, this box didn't have that "wow" factor that the first box did — I've continued to buy and use some of my favorite products I discovered in the previous Target Baby Box, so it was worth it above and beyond the original price to find products I love. Ultimately I'll get a lot of use from all of these products, though, and with the included $10 off coupon it's still a great overall value for a $5 box.

Anyone not plan on using their $10 off online coupon code? Would love it to get some diapers for my kiddos! Thanks!

OMG I LOVE this box! I just opened mine, no baby in this household, I’m the youngest at 23 years lol. The healing ointment is amazing on hands and cuticles (I have very sensitive skin) and this size is amazing and worth twice what I paid for the box. Everything looks so awesome and useful for people of any age (looking at you butt wipes). Has anyone tried the laundry wipes yet? and if anyone needs the coupon to use online I have an extra code!

Seriously if they did this box once a month I would buy it every time. So happy I picked up two.

Love love love this box. I usually buy the beauty boxes, but this box is so much better! Missed out on the last one, but was able to get this one. The Cerave Baby Healing Ointment especially was a pleasant surprise – had been using A&D on my son, but he’s teething right now and his diaper rash got really bad all at once. Used this, and it started disappearing immediately. Everything in this box will get used, and the coupon is a wonderful bonus. I wish they did these every month!

I really like those wipes. I’ve been using them for the past several years when my skin sensitivity issues flare up – I like that there’s no fragrance or witch hazel (which I find can be sometimes irritating). However (and I recognize this is my peculiar pet peeve), as someone who cares about the accurate and purposeful use of words, it drives me nuts that the packaging says “chemical free!” in multiple places. I mean, I know what they’re getting at, but they could just as easily say “free of harsh chemicals” and not further contribute to fear-mongering and public chemophobia.

I don’t have any kids and I bought this box both times. Great box for natural and sensitive skin friendly items. I prefer it over the regular target box

Two questions:

1) Has anyone used the laundry soap? How well does it work? Going on vacation in two weeks and bringing it with us but don’t want to rely on it if it’s only so-so. We typically use regular laundry detergent.

2) Does anyone know the coupon restrictions? The coupon seems to imply that certain items are exempt. We need to buy a high-back booster and were hoping that car seats and boosters were not exempt.

Thanks!!!

Been trying to use them for several days now and no luck; have changed items in my cart, have only included ones sent without the raw body wash and nothing. Help

The laundry strips worked well for us! I tested it on just one regular load (not delicates and just average wear, nothing super soiled). I didn’t notice any residue or anything. I’m not sure how practical they are for daily use but I love the travel idea and might hang on to them for that 🙂

Michelle

I should get my box today and I’ll test them out. I’m not using it on baby clothes, but maybe my pillow cases and delicates. I use organic soap anyhow because of my very sensitive skin… So I’ll make use of the skin care items as well.

I’m going to test out the laundry detergent today and will report back. And *great* idea about taking it on vacation – I’m planning a trip now and that hadn’t occurred to me, but this would be so easy to pack!

Hi,

I think the coupon says for baby wipes, diapers, formula, food and toiletries. So it might not work for a car seat, but you can always have them scan it and sometimes you get lucky and the register accepts the coupon.

But on a side note, I received an email from target this week saying they are doing a car seat trade in. Just bring your old car seat or booster seat to guest service and they will give you a coupon for 20% off purchase of a new one. Call your local target and see if they are having that promotion. Hope this helps!

Rebecca

Thanks, that is helpful!

I got this box and I love it! I use coconut oil as a carrier oil for essential oils before applying them to my 4 month old daughter so I’m really happy to have it in a size that I can take on the go (the giant jar just isn’t practical and also just to have in the diaper bag for mama’s dry skin let’s be real) This whole box is a win!

My kid is well past the baby stage but I bought this for me. The healing ointment looks to be a great sub for Aquaphor and I’ll use everything. Very impressed with this one.

Michelle

Same. Everything is so useful in this box for sensitive skin. I wish I had bought a couple more now.

Reply ButtonReply

Kerri

I agree 100%. I can’t believe this was only $5!!!!!! I was going to put the oil on hubbys feet last night but forgot haha. I bought this for me as well, I have rosacea, and my 15 year old has sensitive skin, so this box is perfect for us. I wish they would do this kind of box more often.

I don’t have a baby, but now I wish I bought this box for myself. I just bought a healing ointment for peeling from Retinol products on my body, and I would have loved the mineral sunscreen.. I also would have liked the sleep spray. Too bad it’s sold out..

Reply ButtonReply

Lacey Volk

I do wish they’d do these more regularly, because they seem to sell out fast every time!

This box was great! At least IMO better than the beauty boxes they’ve been putting out lately. Just FYI – my SO used the UpSpring 100% Organic Coconut Oil Skin Lotion yesterday on an inflamed itchy part of his skin (maybe eczema), and he said it stung a bit – so might want to be careful how you use it.

Michelle

Great little box.

Mattie

Does anyone know if it’s a single item purchase of $50 for the coupon or can I grab an assortment of baby items that total $50 to use it as well?

Reply ButtonReply

tat

You can grab an assortment, or get one big thing, and get ten dollars knocked off. But the TArget flier in the Sunday paper has the same coupon about once a month.

Mattie

Thanks so much!

This box is awesome – l love every single item!! And $10 off $50 coupon is fantastic, thanks Target!!

I liked this box, first Target one I’ve bought in a while! I bought it hoping for the baby dept coupon lol. I plan on using it next week for diapers. I’ve used the water wipes before, and they’re alright, the body wash smells great, the healing ointment I’m not sure about, we use Desitin and vaseline on everything. My bf’s sister swears about lavender oil on her baby’s feet helps him sleep at night, I’m not keen on lavender scent and not putting oil on my son either. I haven’t tried it yet, but she said her son is so used to it, he sticks his foot up at night so she can put oil on the bottom.

Reply ButtonReply

Lacey Volk

That’s so adorable that her baby sticks his foot up – love it 🙂
