I’ve been subscribing to Birchbox since 2011, and I’ve discovered a lot of favorite beauty products through their boxes! I thought it would be fun to share two of my favorite product discoveries and ask everyone to share what some of their favorite products have been!

Here are two of my all-time favorites:

birchbox-favorites

EXO Pure Remover Nail Polish Remover – I love this nail polish remover! First, it doesn’t smell like nail polish remover! It smells like lavender, and it is super gentle on my nails. Unlike acetone removers, this one doesn’t dry out my nails/cuticles either.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – This delivers exactly what it promises – a liquid lipstick with serious staying power. It wears down a bit throughout the day (I might reapply it in the afternoon), but otherwise, it is good to go. The matte finish is perfect for me, too. (I apply a clear balm over it for extra moisture.)

What are some of your favorite Birchbox product discoveries?

If you are new to Birchbox, it is a $10 a month beauty and makeup subscription box. Check out all of our Birchbox reviews to see what’s been in past boxes. And check out our Birchbox Spoilers to see what’s coming up in future boxes!

  1. Wow! Ive been getting boxes for almost 5 years, thats a lot of discoveries. These are my favorites

Ellovi butter – love a good all in one
Hustle butter – again love a good all in one
    Davines the brand is amazing
Amika Deep conditioner can’t live with out
    Price Harvey Hello

I have been disappointed lately but If I think back Ive really discovered a lot of great stuff and Ill stick with them…

  2. Before I canceled after they dropped the review for points(still sucks, but seems like no one talks about this), I found a few great finds!

The pbj lip crayon is one of my fave lippies, as well as BB’s

The water bottle that was in a LE box(my fave one ever) , it was also in the Rachael Zoe box – forgot name but glass silicone covered
(Not tech beauty but hydration helps beauty, right?)

Cc cream that I used for my terrible dark under eye(it looks like I never sleep O_o )
And probably some others I can’t think of atm, it was a really great discover box while they made it worthwhile with points! (Just switched to Ipsy and like their points! – seems silly to ever remove hem, and subscribers go with!)

*please excuse any sleepy typos 😉

    • Do you remember the brand of cc cream? I also have permanent dark circles & bags and I’m willing to try any new product them. Thanks!

      • Sadly it was lost so I am not sure of the brand, but it was one that often came. I believe I got it as a bonus w purchase, it could have been Marcella…not sure.
However it actually wasn’t that great of one, it just was the first I ever tried!( it did hide it some and didn’t enlarge pores)
On a side note, stay away from the pure c c stick. It was too dark and left me w prounonced pores w yellow tint! 🙁 ( I have very pale/fair skin)
I hear the previous one was better from ipsy( sorry I’m terrible w names!)
Hopefully we both can find a good one soon!

    • I too left because they dropped the points, its so disappointing, but I do save alot of money now.

      Favorite, Roller Lash anything Benefit
Frat Boy Blush by The Balm
      Mac Liquid Lipsticks
      The Balm Liquid Lipsticks
      Oribe Gold Lust Hair Oil
      Neil George Shampoo
      Jack Black Beard Lube
      Brow Wiz Anastasia
Davines Hair Stuff, Dr Brant Face Stuff, Number 2 Hair Stuff
      Shu Umeura Shampoo
The Milk Lip & Cheek Cream Blush
      Hand De Fuko Shampoo
Oh Man, I could go on and on. Would have stayed forever if they hadnt dropped the points system. It Broke my Heart.

    • Also cancelled during that mass exodus. Fave items are the Davines clarifying shampoo and their volumizing shampoo and conditioner. First used the Avene moisture serum via them (though now use Bioderma one via Beautylish and a few products from The Ordinary line). The Parlor sea salt spray was a favorite for awhile, IPKN’s primer that makes my face look nice enough with nothing else and has that dewy glow. First had Chuao choco bars from them and got my first BKR glass water bottle from them as well. Caudalie divine oil. Oribe products, MCMC Phoenix perfume still love.

I used to buy so much stuff from them and add-ons every month and had been a customer for 5 years. Haven’t bought a single item from them since.

  3. Beauty protector products – smells amazing and the conditioner always left my hair soft.

Amika dry shampoo – mainly because I love the smell and it works well enough

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser – I like other cleansers better, but this was is still one of my faves.

Laura Geller baked blush, Glamglow dualcleanse and Chella eyebrow pencil

And my favorite find from this box wasn’t even a beauty product – the This Works sleep spray. It has worked wonders for me (yes, it does give you weird dreams or maybe just causes you to remember your weird dreams, I definitely noticed that) but I have since bought 2 full-size bottles with another on the way.

  4. Ooh, several discoveries:

    Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle
    Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot perfume
Juliette Has a Gun Anyway perfume
    Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick
    Dry shampoos in general
    Amika products
    Tocca hand creams
Number 4 Fluoro5 Elixir Restore & Repair Oil
    …and more!

  5. I only had Birchbox for 6 months but I really did discover some good products at first. My absolute favorite discovery is the Davines OI All in One Milk. But I also fell in love with the Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle (the smell! ❤) and the Skin Food Black Sugar Mask. Also, I had heard of the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray before Birchbox but I had never tried it because of the cost but I was able to buy it at a pretty hefty discount in one of their sales. So it really doesn’t count as a discovery but I probably wouldn’t have tried it otherwise. And now it’s my holy grail hair styling product.

  6. Benefit gimme brow. But now I want to try the Roller Lash based on everyone’s comments.

And I am now convinced I just try Liz’s two favorites! Does that nail polish remover do a good job at taking off polish??

I desperately need a good acetone- free product, my nails and cuticles are so dry. I guess a base coat might help too.

    • I also listed that EXO polish remover as one of my favorite BB discoveries (actually, it’s my most favorite discovery 🙂 ), and it’s effective at removing basic polish, but you may need a regular polish remover if you have some with a lot of shimmer or texture, and definitely if you’re removing glitter polish. I find the polish remover is a bit slow to work its way through the top coat, but once it has penetrated it, it removes the polish just like any other polish remover. Plus, it’s incredibly moisturizing on your nails. It actually leaves a little oily film on them. I remove it right away since I always paint my nails again right afterward, but they stay moisturized without impacting the wear of the next polish application. Finally, my nails have never looked better since using this. Even though I wear polish all of the time, my nails still look incredibly healthy, as if I never wear anything, and I really think a lot of that has to do with this polish remover not stripping & drying out my nails.

      • Thank you, that’s good to know. I’m going to try it!

  7. Where do I begin?
    OLO gardenia body serum
    Smith and cult nail polish
    English laundry spray
    Kopari body scrub
    Oribe dry shampoo
    Tata Harper moisturizer

LE boxs have been the best for sure

  8. My favorites (that I can think of right now) are:
    – EXO nail polish remover
    – Davines Love Shampoo & Conditioner
    – Klorane Mango Shampoo (this was a GWP, but I think it still counts 🙂 )
    – MD Solar Science Eye Emulsion
I know there are still many new favorite discoveries to be had, as I was subbed to BB for over one year and there are still a ton of samples (most mentioned in earlier comments) that I still haven’t gotten around to trying yet!

  9. I love English Laundry Eau de Parfum Signature for Her. It’s my go-to fragrance! I use TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray all the time now. I also love the brands Pixi and Derma E. There are so many more good finds from BirchBox, but these are my favorites. <3 🙂

  10. Marcelle XTension Plus mascara!! Love love love!

  11. Cynthia Rowley products!! I have 2 of her palettes, and I love them. Plus I have two of her eyeliners, both in a stunning silver shade.

There was also a facial cleanser that I cannot for the life of me remember what brand it is from… All I remember is that it smelled like orange creamsicle and was so creamy in texture!

    • Wait, I think I found it!! It’s by Skinn, and I think I actually got it in Ipsy way back when!

  12. Sounds silly but I had never tried dry shampoo and now I’m obsessed. And then the one product I really love is the hey honey propolis foot cream. Smells amazing.

  13. I love the Beauty Protector Detangler! It works wonders on my super curly hair. The Liz Earle skin polish and muslin cloth, and finally LOC one & done eyeshadow sticks!

    • Yaaassssss!

  14. I don’t subscribe anymore but I got 2 boxes a month for 3 years and here are my favorites that I still buy and use to this day:

    Davines replumping hair filler superactive
Cargo swimmables blush in los cabos
    Real chemistry 3-minute peel
    Macadamia professional moisture oil treatment
Laqa & co. Lip lube in Menatour
Laura Gellar baked gelato swirl illuminator in gilded honey
Stila liquid lipstick in Patina and Bella
    Oribe everything
    Acure everything

  15. Paula’s Choice RESIST BHA 9 Treatment!

  16. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara! Best ever, it’s all I use now!!!

  17. Good Genes by Sunday Riley (love love!) and Jouer candlenut cream!

  18. The entire Goodal Waterest line from the K beauty themed box a year ago, hands down is my favorite. I also discovered IPKN face primer and still use it often for a highlighter-type glow. Rounding out my top 3 is Stila’s liquid lipstick. I hated the shade they sent (it looked like I made out with a hot pink highlighter) it worse so long and so well I bought the LE set from BB. The reason I dropped BB was boxes has become repetitive with both the category of products included and the brands. I enjoyed it for almost 5 years for the discovery experience. Once that disappeared I called it a day.

  19. I’ve found a lot of things I love in Birchbox; I just was comparing boxes recently and this is the only one I think I’ve bought a full size of something after using the sample.

    Beauty Protector detangler
    Living Proof No Frizz oil
    Vasanti Brighten Up
    Model & Co. lipliner
    L. Erikson ponytail holders
    Michael Todd antibacterial toner
    Lavanila perfume
    Supergoop CC cream
    Liz Earle muslin cloths

There are a couple more I love but haven’t justified the expense of yet!

  20. Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream (& liquid), LAQA & Co Lip Lube (all colors, but Menatour opened me up to a new range of colors I didn’t even know would look well on me), Beautiful Nutrition Detox Shine Repair shampoo & conditioner (smells so good, & is now my regular hair cleaner).

  21. Davines Oi All in One Milk
    Smashbox X-rated mascara
    Tarte Blush in Paaarty
    Milk Makeup Highlighter stick
Laqua &Co cheeky Lip in cranberry

  22. Marcelle LOL autocorrect

  23. Marcella Golden Glow Bb Balm 🙂

  24. Juara candlenut body crème is incredible!!!! Also love the Amika bombshell blowout spray. IPKN apple sunscreen.

  25. Oribe hair & now body products, Amika texturizing spray, R+Co Hair products, Tata Harper Resurfacing mask, Jouer lip enhancer.

  26. I’ve discovered lots of great hair products from Amika, Living Proof, Klorane, and Beauty Protector. A couple other favorites are Laura Geller GlamLash mascara and Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion exfoliant. Great stuff!

  27. The Liz Earle Cleanser with the polishing cloth or whatever it is called may be my favorite product from Birchbox. I was a member for more than a year, an ace for two years, and never received anything like Sunday Riley good genes. I probably would have stayed if I had received products like that. The Liz Earle that I liked and bought the full size was in my first box or two. After that I usually received tiny eyeshadows, mascaras almost every month, and hair products that were for people with thick curly hair even though I told them I had fine thin hair and needed more volume. Speaking of tiny samples, remember that Milk lipstick? It was so small it looked like it was for a Barbie. Mine broke off as soon as I opened it.

  29. Oh man, I have so many, but I’ll try to narrow down to a few:

    – Bombas socks – I received a pair in a Limited Edition box and promptly went to their website and replaced all of my socks.

    – Anything Davines

    – Benefit Gimmie Brow

    – Beauty Protect Detangler

    – Chella highlighter pencil

    – 1899 Histories de Parfum cologne for husband (swoon)

    – Hanz de Fuko hair products (for the hubs)

    • Oh yes how could I forget the Bombas socks!!! I love them now also thanks to Birchbox! 🙂

  30. Sunday Rileys Good Genes Serum, it is the only beauty item ive ever used that I felt truly made a huge impact on the health and appearance of my skin. It’s soooo pricey but god its good.

  31. Davines Naturaltech Replumping Hair Filler Superactive! I have very fine, straight hair that I color treat to blend out grays. I have spent a small fortune trying products that claim to do what this one does. The difference is, this one actually works! My deluxe sample has lasted a long time, and I will definitely get the full size when it runs out.

  32. Oribe styling creme – I’ve bought the full size and use it religiously.
    Rituals dry shampoo
Dr Jartt BB creme – also bought the full size, but in a different color

    • Oh and Roller Lash! Love that stuff!

  33. Hustle Butter Luxe is the only full size thing I have ever bought from Birchbox. I put it on my tattoo religiously and it keeps the ink dark & looking good as new.

    • Love hustle butter!

  34. Living proof dry shampoo!

  35. Beauty Protector detanlger (for my daughter mostly but the smell is so good). For me, Glamglow products and Sunday Riley Good Genes.

  36. Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant – nothing takes care of festering break outs better. It’s a miracle product and it doesnt even need to be used daily to work. It’s probably my all time favorite skin care product.

  37. My favorite Birchbox discovery is the Balance Me Congested Skin Serum. It does wonders for my face!!

    • I second this one. I love it.

    • That is great stuff! Reading these, I realized how much overlap there is in subscriptions because I got that in my Look Fantastic box.

  38. I really like the Beauty Protector detangler (the one in the red bottle) and the Klorane cornflower water (not lotion) makeup remover.

Slightly less mindblowing was one of the CoTZ sunscreens for face (feels like a primer, is basically colorless, doesn’t smell!).

I will say that while I haven’t found a whole lot that I have LOVED, I’ve found lots of things that were okay enough that I tried something else from the brand, or smelled so awful I knew never to buy from the brand, or turned out to be really great for my sister. LOL. I’m just coming off a six-month hiatus from Birchbox; April will be my first one back (I really kinda just wanted the box design), so we’ll see if it’s like being new all over again, or whether it will be one-and-done.

  39. Beauty Protector products…because of the smell.

I’m new and only on my second box so I have a lot more discovering to do. So far I’m really liking Birchbox a lot.

    • I second Beauty Protector. Also love Nuxe dry oil and Curl Keeper serum.

  40. Roller Lash and all Davines products.

  41. Oribe and Paula’s Choice. Can’t live without either one!

  42. Liz Earl moisturizer. It’s feels so luxurious.

  43. I only did one box because I got a bunch of foil packets , so Birchbox isn’t for me . But the one item I got which I would say is sample size was Hustle butter luxe . And I love it ! I search it all the time on the swap page and right now I have about three . But I would purchase the full size .

    • I’m curious what you got because Birchbox doesn’t send out foil packets except as bonus items (in addition to your 5 base samples).

      • To be honest I don’t really remember it was a while ago . I remember some clarins stuff in a packet on a card . But I remember opening the box and thinking it was a joke . At that time I was only doing ipsy so I was very disappointed

  44. Vasanti BrightenUp Face Rejuvenator, Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask, and LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in On Point or Heavy Petal.

    • I second LOC

  45. Amika dry shampoo & Davines Oi All In One Milk

    • Same here! Love amika and Davines!

    • Davines has to be the best thing I’ve ever come across!!! I’m so addicted to the OI milk, the oil, and even the shampoo and conditioner. The smell is just so wonderful.

  46. I loved my sample of Sunday Riley Good Genes! I won’t buy it because of the expense, but the sample lasted several weeks using it every other day.

Even though they aren’t my fave products, I really enjoyed trying Tata Harper and REN masks. I’ve always been curious about those lines, and I don’t get to stores that give free samples very often.

Unlike many people I like getting SPF and dry shampoo in subscription boxes. I use those products all the time.

  47. The deep sleep spray, and the Liz Earle eye bright lotion that makes me look awake every morning

  48. The cancellation button!

    • This one wins for me, too!

    • Same here 😉

  49. Laura Gellar blush, love the colors and it lasts forever!!

  50. Definitely the Vasanti Brighten Up- it is my fave!!!! 🙂 But.. runners up would be the Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle, and the Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner!
