Honey Belle Organics products! More info from Pearlesque Box:

In 2013, Dr. Hou began to develop skin irritations and allergies from commercial department store brands. She began making homemade remedies  with her knowledge about herbs, for herself, her patients, and her daughter who at the time suddenly developed psoriasis. Iris became inspired by her new-found knowledge and awareness of what she was putting onto her skin.

"I suddenly became so aware of what I was putting onto my skin after I got psoriasis. I realized as a broke college student, I couldn't afford anything considered 'healthy' in the market. So I started studying ingredients, and I made homemade recipes to replace each and every one of my beauty products. And I fell in love.. I couldn't wait to share them with everyone around me!"

Iris created an alias on Instagram named “Honey Belle” for ‘natural beauty.’ She started posting her products on there, and people started contacting her about purchasing them. She sold it, not thinking anything of it at first. Then, more and more people began to make orders, and that’s when Calvin her boyfriend came to help- helping Iris on his days off from work.

"It wasn't until people who were willing to try my products out on Instagram, started emailing us saying: 'Honey Belle is changing my life', 'I feel like I can use less make-up now', 'I feel so much more confident in my own skin', that I turned to Calvin and said ‘Let’s do this, let’s just help people with their skin!'

So they quit their full-time jobs, and started chasing this passion to make a difference in other people's lives.

"My vision in making my products price-conscious is to have natural + organic products more accessible to everyone, since I wasn't able to afford them. I can easily mark up my products and make billions, but that's not my focus. I'd rather give back. We’ve donated to hundreds of people, and to countries such as Guatemala, Vietnam, Honduras, and Burma to name a few, as well as local homeless shelters in Los Angeles. Giving back is so important, and it's something that fulfills me."

This looks great. I started with so many of the little beauty boxes and everything was so toxic. The problem is now I have Pearlesque, Art of Organics, Beauty Hero (omg yes), and Boxwalla. Not to mention goodbeing, glowing beets and petit vour. I think I have a problem. But it’s so great getting boxes where I don’t have to swap almost everything because I’m allergic to it.

Anyone else over-subscribe? Its a lot of money but it ends up coming out to the cost of like… 3 products. ooooof.

I used to be over-subscribed to the “toxic” boxes as you say: Birchbox, Ipsy, Play!, BoxyCharm, Beautyfix and more (not necessarily all at once but with varying degrees of overlap.) I had finally just gotten down to Pearlesque only and then Benevolent Beauty came up with a skincare box that I really wanted (just got the first one last week) and then Love Goodly had the One Love Organics serum which more than paid for the box so I *had* to get that… It’s taken all of my willpower not to get Beauty Heroes, Art of Organics or Boxwalla Beauty!! I want them all but would need at least 3 more faces. 🙂

Every month, I keep thinking I need to cancel since I’m on product overload (plus I need to save some money). However, every month, I find that once the spoilers are out, I can’t cancel. I love this sub box! I’m looking forward to trying these products. They sound great! I’ll probably go and check out their website now.

Maggie,

Me too!!! I am on a monthly sub and definitely consider canceling each month, but the spoilers get me every time. My April box should ship soon and I am so excited about it! Truly the one box where it is a delight to open every month.

Calli,

It’s good to know we’re in the same boat! I also have the monthly sub (although, I probably should just buy a longer subscription to it). I really was this close to canceling for May, but I just had to check on the spoilers here & I caved. This is a pricey sub for month to month, but the value is there. I love trying these unique brands too. I mean, how would I have heard about Teavanna or Honey Belle? So, I’m torn about canceling. I need to at some point, but I don’t want too! 🙂

I’ve really enjoyed March’s box with the Teavanna. I love that face spray! I’ve not used the soap yet, but it smells great. I’m trying to use up some of the products in my shower already first. We’re supposed to get a facial mist, plus some other awesome looking items in this month’s box too. I can’t wait to get my April box! And now, after seeing this spoiler for May & knowing that we’re getting 4 full size & 2 travel size items, I’m super excited!

Enjoy your April box! (i’m sure we both will!) I hope we both get our boxes soon!

Calli

I have never heard of Honey Belle or used their products. But I love their organic approach and it is not something I see at TJMaxx (which is a serious failing of most other sub boxes – that’s the ONLY place I see some sub box brands.)

This encapsulates exactly why Pearlesque is so special and I keep subbing to this pricey box month after month. Everything is very high quality and unique, with an incredible value to boot. To date, I have not been disappointed with a single item.

The product junkie in me loves that there will be six products in the box. 🙂

Me too! 4 full size & 2 travel size – squeals! I guess it’s because the products are so reasonably priced. I just spent way too much time looking at all the products on their website… The makeover remover oil sounds wonderful (the other luxe cleansing oil and foaming cleanser sound good too), the Rose toner looks so nice and the moisturizer cremes or oil elixir too. The detox mask would be good for spot treatments, the soaps seem really good (especially Eucalyptus Mint & Rose scents or Jasmine Lily)!

I’m a little surprised they don’t have any serums (besides the acne one). The other thing throwing me off is how most of the products are good for all skin types – how can they work well for dry & oily? Be anti-aging and good for acne & blackheads? But I’m willing to give them a shot! 🙂

So, I am no expert, but I do read here and there about skincare, and I’ve learned that some things are good for almost all skin. Like AHAs – the exfoliation they provide helps prevent acne and it also helps combat the dullness of dry or aging skin. Also retinol, which is basically a skin wonder treatment – it encourages cell turnover, so again good for treating acne and clogged pores, but that also makes it an effective wrinkle treatment. And I personally have oily, acne-prone but dehydrated skin and have been experimenting with a facial oil at night. It sound counterintuitive, but I think it’s helping my skin “de-stress.”

Luna

Okay, you’ve convinced me to go check out their website. 😀
