Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Bubble Blender Silicone Makeup Applicator – Listed Value $15

One of the reasons I never got into beauty blenders was product waste. My favorite foundation is kind of expensive and I didn’t like the idea of using more product to achieve full coverage. This is a non-porous, silicone makeup applicator that is supposed to have the benefits of a beauty blender without the product loss. Well, I will admit that I am not wasting foundation with this, but I think I still have to hone my technique a bit as I ended up with way more foundation on the left side of my face than my right. But I will get better with practice. This is also relatively easy to clean.

Illume Cream Luminizer – Value $18

I like to use highlighters but I was skeptical of this product since it appeared really dark in the container (like, way darker than my skin). It turns out not to be super pigmented in a thin layer on the face, though I’m not sure I can say I saw much luminizing either (I put it on the tops of my cheekbones). Maybe a little (with no sparkle) for a subtle effect. (I found this product in the Orglamix shop but this color is currently sold out.)

V.I.Pretty Lip + Cheek Gelee – Listed Value $18

This was also a pretty light color when applied. It is going to be a better cheek product than a lip product for me as it is really light colored (but I am pale, so that’s OK, and the color is somewhat buildable) and because I don’t like using lip products in pots where I have to apply with a finger or brush. It blended well and didn’t give me clown face so it was a win! (This color is exclusive to the box, but the value from the booklet is in line with the cost of other colors.)

5 Star Fab Natural Eyeshadow – Listed  Value $12.50

This is a really pretty, pearlescent purple color. I’ve been using more loose shadows this year and the Orglamix shadows last a long time (over primer) and don’t irritate my eyes (I wear contact lenses). This is also a color I definitely don’t have in my collection. (This color is exclusive to the box.  You’ll get a lot of exclusive colors with this subscription.)

Mud Treatment Hydrating Mask – Value $15

So. This container. It would be good for a color cosmetic or something else you only want to use a little bit of at once. It is NOT good for a product where you need a teaspoon or more at a time. I had to keep putting the lid back on, tapping upside down on the counter, dumping what I got into a Dixie cup, and then repeating. (My husband heard the tapping and started looking for a woodpecker outside our house…) I just mixed with water in a very thin layer (got tired of tapping) and I did like the effects – it really cleaned out the pores on my nose without drying my skin.

Here are swatches of the luminizer (just under that big vein on my wrist), the lip + cheek gelee, and the eyeshadow.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $78.50 for the April Orglamix subscription box. Although I did have to take some values from the information booklet, a lot of the items were actually in the shop this time. This is one subscription that usually has quite a high value above and beyond the cost of the subscription. This was more of a makeup-heavy month; you’ll also get some boxes with more of a skincare or fragrance focus (you can look back at past reviews to get an idea of the breadth of the item types). I think my favorite thing this month was the eyeshadow – I just really, really like that color.

This same Luminizer (maybe in a tiny bit lighter shade) was in the Feb Love Goodly Box and will last forever so I wasn’t really excited to see this one here, plus I don’t see any difference at all when I apply it. My silicone blender was in a different shape. I enjoy this subscription and I appreciate the box designs. Their customer service is wonderful and it seems that the owner personally replies.
