Every month they include an info card detailing the items and their values. This month’s theme is “Preparation + Inspiration”.

Nomadik-March-2017-0005

This month Nomadik introduced an Instagram challenge. Participants are eligible to win a free adventure box! I thought this was a great idea to help spread the word about their box and a great incentive for subscribers to get outside for springtime! I just took a quick 13-mile kayak trip yesterday and got a chance to use a few items from this month’s Nomadik.

Wild Hedgehog Tactical Ouch Pouch – Value $15

I was recently discussing with one of my backpacking friends how to best shed weight in a decent first aid kit. We settled on a selection nearly identical to this kit, so when I opened Nomadik this month and saw this I was thrilled! The kit comes in a heavy-duty resealable pouch from Loksak, quite an upgrade from a standard zippered sandwich bag. The selection is enough to cover standard cuts/scrapes you might get from a long hike or weekend at a campground. Wild Hedgehog also points out this would be a great kit to have on hand anytime, especially if you have kids running around! I threw this in my kayak hatch this past weekend, though luckily didn’t have an occasion to use it.

Wild Hedgehog includes a discount card for anything in their store. They carry a variety of kits for survival and first aid and also sell a lot of components separately.

GearAid ReviveX Durable Water Repellent, 5 oz. – Value $8.95

This 5oz bottle of DWR is ideal for all those camping and outdoor clothes that used to be water resistant but have lost their repellency over time. It happens to all clothes that feature water resistance, and with this product, you can bring them back to life! I prepped an old pair of hiking shorts with this stuff for my kayaking trip this past weekend, and the water beaded off just fine. Reviewers on Amazon have reported problems with this particular product, but it seems to be working fine for me so far. I haven’t tested it in a rainstorm or anything yet, but I’m hopeful it can bring back an old rain jacket I’ve held on to for several years!

GSI Infinity Backpacker Mug – Value $9.95

I was excited to see a camping mug in this box. I love coffee, I have to have it in the morning.. It doesn’t matter if I’m in my house or in the middle of the woods. I have a bunch of camping mugs because inevitably when I make some, everyone else wants some too. I’m really partial to my ultralight titanium mug, but this one clocks in at just a few oz. more, and will definitely be a welcome addition to my pack. I love that it comes with a sipper lid, and the removable sleeve will make for easy cleaning and easy holding.

Epic Wipes Single Wipe – Value $2.49

This is a 31.5”x19.7” wet wipe. It’s huge in comparison to the one you clean your hot wing fingers with. It’s made from biodegradable bamboo fibers, contains no parabens or toxins, and smells pretty great due to the essential eucalyptus oil. I’ve got a few of these already from some other outdoor themed boxes, and while I have brought them on a few hikes, I haven’t yet found the situation to use them.

Rova Magazine - Bonus!

At the bottom of this month’s box was a copy of the premiere issue of Rova - a print and digital magazine geared towards RV enthusiasts. It’s got a lot of cool articles about things you can do on RV trips. It’s not exactly up my alley, but it was also included for free so I’m not complaining.

Verdict: Nomadik put together a really nice box this month. I’ve already gotten use out of half of the products, and I know I’m going to get use out of the rest. They do a great job of curating boxes that could appeal to long-time outdoorsy types or casual campers. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, and the value of everything this month adds up to $36.39. That exceeds the monthly $30 price tag and is a great value if you take part in their longer term plans. Definitely looking forward to next month’s box!

Really liked the April box – everything was immediately dispursed for use. The Rova magazine is new to us and we enjoyed reading it.

Agreed! I use mine in my hammock setup (it’s about long enough to run the length of my rain fly) and to run along a picnic table when car camping.

I own this mug and I love it! Keeps my coffee warm for a long time in the back country, even when it’s cool outside. I use it for cold drinks too because the lid is really nice to have!

Yeah, it really is perfect timing! We have a spoiler post up for the April box here: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2017/03/nomadik-april-2017-spoiler-coupon.html Without spoiling the product here (in case you want the mystery), I can say I already own one and I’m actually pretty stoked to have a second. Looks like you have until 4/13 to sign up to get the April box!
