If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from). For the $149 tote, you pick 2 items and get 3-4 more surprise items based on your style profile.

FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it.

Every month they design a new tote, too! I love this floral design for Spring!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Senorita Top in Navy – Value $48

This top was the first of my two chosen items for March. I’m not normally one to go for embroidery, but I really love this top. The silhouette is so easy to wear and comfortable, and the floral detailing at the neck is just such a pretty touch. I know this will get a lot of wear this summer!

I love the back details here, too.

HourGlass Lily Swing ¾ Top – Value $35

The pattern for this top is bolder than I would usually reach for but I love the length and cut of this top! It’s a soft jersey knit, so it’s really comfortable. I can see myself running errands in this top with skinny jeans and flats.

Palm Swings Tee in White – Value $20

I love tees that have a swingy cut to them, so I grabbed this top as my second chosen item this month. I’m not sure I love this top, but I like the fit. Out of the three color schemes offered (white, mocha, mint) I liked the white most but it’s just sheer enough that I’d prefer a cami underneath, which means I’m not sure I’ll actually reach for it. I may see if I can swap it on the MSA swap page or the Golden Tote Facebook page.

Potter’s Pot Wrap Dress – Value $35

I don’t have much of this pale blue color in my wardrobe, but I like it! I usually love wrap dresses, too. Unfortunately, this one’s waist sits right under my bust, which is not the narrowest part of my torso and therefore is much less flattering than I’d like. My wrap dresses need to sit at my natural waist.

Ginger G Floral Cardigan – Value $30

Golden Tote spoiled this surprise item on their Facebook trading page and I requested it. I think the wildflower print is so pretty and it feels refreshing to have a more organic looking floral print in my wardrobe.

The print continues around to the back as well. With this being a lightweight cardigan I think it’ll be a great piece for my Michigan spring/summer season.

Verdict: My March Golden Tote was alright. Most of my pieces were my taste and everything fit well except the waist of the dress. I love using Golden Tote to add some updates to my wardrobe each month and I am so excited to start wearing more Spring clothing! As far as value goes, I got an estimate ~$170 of value for my $159 purchase. That’s lower than usual for me, and since not every piece was a home run it’s a slight bummer but I’m not too disappointed since returns are easy and it’s not how my Golden Totes typically turn out.

So at $149, each piece comes out to about $25. That seems very pricey to me considering you can’t even choose most of the items. I’d rather go to Ross/t.j. Max/whatever store and pick out the things I want for up to half that price. Just sayin.

I LOVE that cardi! I also can’t stand dresses with a waistband (empire?) under my bust. I have a long torso and they are not flattering or comfortable.
