GlobeIn now offers two Artisan Box themes you can pick from! The first revealed theme for the upcoming GlobeIn May 2017 Box is… Lunch!

Dear friends,

Remember those days back in kindergarten when your lunchbox was a beacon of self-expression? Turns out they’re not over. Just because you’re all grown up that’s no reason to stop sporting an ultra-savvy lunchroom style.

It does mean, however, that slapping a sticker on a mini plastic suitcase is no longer going to cut it. These days, you want your lunch kit to promote healthy eating, to save you time, cash, and fuss, and to save the environment from going kaput. And as always, you want it to be pretty!

And here is the first spoiler:

unnamed (2) bento4bento3

Tri Bento Lunch Box, India (Retail $30)

Material: High-quality BPA-free stainless steel

Size: 2 oz (1.5 cups) fits in each of the three layers. Container measures 5.25" high with base 5.25" diameter

Suggested use: Craft a well-balanced meal. Put your main in the large bottom layer, a salad or veggie in the middle, and a fruit or snack on top! Heat over a stove or campfire, not in the microwave.

What do you think of the spoiler for May?

This used to be one of my very favorite sub boxes. I decided April will be my last box. I have too much stuff, had too many subs, and I am not as excited about this one as I used to be. It feels like I am being a whiner, but I just haven’t felt the same about Globein since the Jan-Feb fubar. I may regret it, but I can always resub. I will say that their customer service was excellent if you received a broken item. Sent a picture and they immediately sent a replacement.
I admire their mission, and after my “butt hurt” ends, I might be back
I am definitely not excited about this spoiler, hope the second choice is better for you guys.
I am looking forward to getting my bell too!

I already received one of these from Globein in a box about a year or so ago. Hope there’s another theme to choose from!

So disappointed with this sub. When it started there were full of unique items and lately I see teas, spices, rice, canvas bags that I can easily buy in market stores. This lunch box is nice, but for practicality it is not that good. First, it is small, second, I do not think I can use it in microwave (it will get too hot). May is my last month of prepaid sub, and then I will cancel.

Isn’t it made of metal? You can’t put metal in the microwave.

I guess my point was that I lost this feeling that I am making impact on some artisan artist life, now you see big companies product like Prana.

it is stainless steel, but wouln’t steel get too hot to handle?

Hard pass for me. I really want the bag in the photo, but the rest of the items (tiffin, spork, magazine??) seem too commercially available/not artisanal. It’s like the travel cup from last month… Those types of products aren’t what I signed up for.

I noticed that too. Last month I chose Sustain over Eco-to-Go and I realized it was because Sustain just seemed to have more unique and artisan-driven items. I’d much rather take that “useless” (as some people called it) recycled bell over a tote that’s given away as a free gift by a well-known brand (although it is really nice and pretty). These new themes still seem to offer a good value/deal to me but some don’t seem as special or personal. I guess as long as they keep offering multiple options every month and I can find a version I like, I’ll still be happy, though.

Dude, seriously — I’m all about that bell. My favorite uses: hearing when a door is opened, tree ornament a la It’s a Wonderful Life, ringing instead of shouting when you need a kid/assistance, using it at work/school to signal start/stop times, or hanging next to a door and teaching your dog to ring it when they need outside (it works!).

That’s what it is. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was different with these boxes. I am now seem to be available from eco but still commercial companies. Not artisans that were used to.

That’s a tiffin. Why that gave it a totally different name is beyond me. Maybe because bento boxes are cooler.

It looks like it’s from ECOlunchbox. For whatever reason they named it the “tri-bento” so that’s what it’s sold/marketed as.

Oh, and I see a cloth napkin. That’s nice (and more in line with what I expect), but I’ve already received several cloth napkins/hand towels from this subscription and definitely don’t need more.
