Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-info

Every box includes a folded info card.

The inside of the card provides details about each item and the retail values. I appreciate that they also use a mark to indicate every item that is also vegan.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items1

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in “Mocha” – Value $19.90

This liquid lipstick isn’t particularly outstanding from other liquid lipsticks I’ve tried, but it still works well. It goes on creamy and opaque, dries down to matte. It stayed for quite some time and lasted through drinking and light snacking. This is a pretty shade, too! (swatched in lower photo)

Clarria Cosmetics Pure Primer – Value $50

This is a vegan primer that feels really lightweight on my skin! I like primers like this, that almost feel like a moisturizer, over ones that have that silky, silicone feel to them. That’s my personal preference, due to my dry skin.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items3

I was a little put off about the weird texture I saw in the bottle, but I shook it pretty hard and it looked normal – my guess is the ingredients probably just settled a little.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items4

Modish Polish, “Where’s My Mojito” – Value $12

I’ve tried Modish Polish before from a subscription box and I really like the formula – it’s vegan, 5-free, gluten-free, and the formula goes on great with one coat. This shade is a dark mint with a crème finish. I like it; it’ll be a cute summer color.

Orglamix Cream Luminizer, “Illume” – Value $18

This is a nice highlighter! I prefer cream/liquid highlighter formulas, and this one does a good job of adding radiance without looking glittery or oily. It has a rose gold undertone that really doesn’t show much at all when applied/blended, which is good because I was worried it would be too dark on my skin just from looking at it in the jar.

Scrub Supply Co Coffee Scrub – 100g, Value $16.98

This is a nice scrub, but I even just love it for opening the bag and smelling it (anyone else?). I love the way this smells and the texture is nice – quite gritty. It’s 100% organic, vegan, and all-natural.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items7

I used this as a hand scrub and I liked how it left my skin feeling. I also liked that I could notice the coconut oil and vitamin E oil leaving my hands feeling moisturized right away once I dried my hands.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items8

Here are the luminizer and the lipstick swatched for you. I really swatched a lot of product with the luminizer to show you, but it really doesn’t look this pigmented when used with your makeup.

Benevolent-Beauty-April-2017-items9

Here I am wearing the liquid lipstick and using the luminizer. The former, I applied to the inner corners of my eyes, my cheekbones, and the bridge of my nose. I want to keep playing with it because I liked the effect of it in person better than it showed up in photos. It was definitely subtle and radiant, but it didn’t photograph very obviously. All in all, though, I’m happy with the performance of both of these products!

Verdict: The April Benevolent Beauty Box was pretty good to me. I like everything but I think I’ll get the most use out of the highlighter and liquid lipstick. The value adds up to $116.88 which is awesome for a $29.95 box, and also on the high end of what I’ve come to expect from this box! Benevolent Beauty always gives you a great value for your money.

I’ve seen people mention this box on here, but for some reason, I had the impression Benevolent was it’s own brand… but I see now that it’s not — and I’m SUPER INTERESTED!!!!! This box looks amazing! I’m very attracted to the Ofra brand now that I’ve been seeing it in boxes. Oh my gosh, I want this box! I may need to re-evaluate my subs :0 and knock off some others and get this one and some others I’ve been drooling over!

Melissa, consider signing up for Benevolent’s emails. Once in awhile they will have their past kits for sale in their online shop. I stopped subscribing to Allure and Sephora to rationalize subscribing to Benevolent and have been excited about every box. Excellent curation and CS has always responded within the day.

I will cross my fingers fir a Mothers Day subscription sale. 🌞 And Haley is spot in, the primer is the best I have ever used.

The other day I did a Google search for Benevolent Beauty to get to their website so I could cancel my 6-month subscription, and some images relating to the box popped up, and some of Haley’s pictures were shown (i.e. pics of Haley modeling the makeup)! I thought that was pretty cool. 🙂

I’ve been thinking about subscribing to this box, and this one is one of their best yet. Thanks for always showing how the products look on your face. Everything looks lovely on you, and you have such beautiful skin!

I loved the smell of the scrub, but I have a septic tank, so am concerned about that enough not to use this product. I am sure it is wonderful, but don’t need plumbing issues.

Hi DB, I live on 35 acres and we have a septic. Both my daughters and my self have used the coffee scrubs with no problem, due to coffee being an organic substance. You will also see coffee as a supplement fir some soils.

So… enjoy your coffee scrub with no worry!!

This was my first Benevolent box and I love it!!! The liquid lipstick is the perfect shade for me. I’ve been getting an overload of liquid lipstick lately and I don’t usually love them, but the OFRA brand works better for me than most. I thought this box had great variety. I think the highlighter is great–I prefer the subtle effect of it compared to most of the highlighters I’ve been getting in subs lately. The only thing I won’t use is the nail polish, but the color works for my daughter, so it won’t go to waste. Can’t wait to see what’s in the next box.
