Usually, Beauteque‘s themes are irrelevant to their curation so I wouldn’t give it too much thought. March’s theme is “In like a lion, out like a lamb.”
This is the monthly beauty bag. I’m all about simple designs so this one is great! The lime green is very appropriate for springtime. Also, I love that it stands up by itself.
Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream 45 ml/1.5 oz – Value $16
This is a lightweight moisturizer that is great for all skin types. I’m a fan of snail products so it’s baffling that I haven’t received this cult-favorite product before. It has a soft fragrance that disappears after a minute. The gel cream sinks in very quickly and sets to a nearly weightless finish. I think it’s great for oily skin people like me because it provides just the right amount of hydration without feeling greasy. It layers perfectly well under my makeup, too. This one is a keeper!
Esfolio Daily Goat Milk Toner 270 ml/9.1 oz – Value $16.99
This toner contains Korean goat milk extracts, which can help revitalize, moisturize, and brighten the skin. First of all, this bottle is huge! It will take me months to use up! Second, of all, this toner gets the job done with zero fuss. It ensures that my skin isn’t dry or tight right after using a cleanser. It also dries quickly, leaving the skin soft and refreshed with no stickiness. Perfect!
Esfolio Foot & Heel Peeling Mask – Value $4.99
This peeling mask uses AHAs to remove rough, calloused skin from your feet to reveal that softer, smoother skin underneath. I’ve used peeling masks before and love them for spring and summertime (AKA flip flop season). That said, make sure not to use them too often (my personal rule of thumb is once a month at most) since you don’t want to lose all your skin… Also, don’t use them with nail polish! My gel polish fell off after my first time using foot peeling masks, and it was tragic.
This set comes with two peeling liquid packets, two plastic booties, and sticker strips. First, put on the plastic booties (they look like shower caps for your feet) and pour the peeling liquid into each foot. Then, seal the top of the bootie and secure with the included stickers. Beauteque recommends wearing this for 60-90 minutes. After removing both booties, give the feet a nice rinse.
I saw signs of peeling on day 4. It wasn’t very noticeable at first– just bits of loose skin around my toes and on the balls of my feet. The peeling was more dramatic on day 5 and completely finished by day 8. The results were great! My skin is now baby soft with no rough callouses at all.
A’Pieu Honey & Milk Lip Scrub 8 ml/0.27 oz – Value $10
This is a lip scrub suitable for the most sensitive of lips. Unlike sugar scrubs that contain large sugar grains for lots of scrubbing action, this product has tiny grains mixed into a milky liquid that honestly smoothes and moisturizes more than it exfoliates. This scrub helped smooth down some dry patches on my lips, but the more impressive part is how easily it washes off (no greasy or balmy residue!) while still being moisturizing. I like to wear lip stains and matte liquid lipsticks, and oftentimes the colors would cling to my dry patches, which is not attractive! This scrub really helps to prep my lips for a softer, smoother canvas so those dry patches are less noticeable.
Xaivita Goat Milk 3-Step Mask Sheet – Value $3.50
This is a 3-step sheet mask kit that contains goat milk and niacinamide for moisturizing and brightening properties. Step 1 is the Goat Milk Whitening Ampoule. Whitening here means brightening of the skin tone and not skin bleaching. The milky liquid feels really nice on my skin and sets to a weightless finish with a bit of tackiness. Step 2 is the sheet mask. The material fits my face very well and exudes a pleasant smell. After removing the mask, my face feels super hydrated. I also notice a brighter, more even skin tone. However, the essence dries down to a very sticky finish, which I dislike. Step 3 is the Goat Milk Whitening Cream, which is a face cream that helps to seal in all the moisture. The formula is too rich for my tastes. Even when used sparingly it feels slick and heavy on my skin. I think the ampoule is the best step out of the three.
Enprani Cleansing Tissues – Value $8.99
This pouch contains 15 cleansing tissues to dissolve dirt and makeup for a clean face. I love using cleansing tissues as the first step of my cleansing process, especially when I’m lazy and don’t want an oil cleanser. These tissues do a great job of completely removing things like foundation and blush, but it’s a little lacking for heavier makeup like waterproof mascara or eyeliner. I will definitely use this for light makeup days and for travel, but it doesn’t beat my favorite Goodal Waterest Lotus Water Cleansing Tissues.
Verdict: The total value is $60.47, which is more than twice the cost of the box. This is one of my favorite months of Beauteque BB Bags to date! I love the selection of brands this time, like Mizon and Xaivita, and all the products are very suitable for me. My favorite is the Esfolio toner, which is great since it happens to be the most expensive item as well. Sometimes Beauteque includes a makeup or accessory item but it isn’t the case this time. In fact, I think the curation actually feels more cohesive this way.
