Usually, Beauteque's themes are irrelevant to their curation so I wouldn't give it too much thought. April's theme is "Soothing Showers."
April's makeup bag features a baby blue and cream color block design. It has a thin inner lining and a wider bottom that allows the bag to stand upright.
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Magic Wand for Lip & Eye Makeup Remover - Value $8
This is a convenient tool that encapsulates makeup remover liquid inside the plastic part of a cotton swab. There are 20 swabs total. They're very useful for fixing mistakes or removing makeup on the go. Plus, the packaging is so adorable! The swabs take off mascara and eyeliner with ease, and this is especially nice for delicate areas like the eyes. However, sometimes it doesn't completely remove waterproof or budge proof formulas.
A'Pieu Aqua Nature Dewdrop Clouding Cream 50 ml/1.7 oz. - Value $13.99
Subscribers receive either the Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Cream or this one from A'Pieu. Looks are deceiving for this one. The stiff peaks of the cream led me to believe that this was a heavy face cream. In reality, the formula has a soft, mousse-like consistency and melts like water once rubbed into the skin. I suppose that's why it's called the Dewdrop Clouding Cream! It has a powdery fragrance that disappears quickly after application. Best of all, it sinks in quickly and leaves skin sufficiently moisturized without any tackiness.
A'Pieu Base Maker in #102 20 g/0.7 oz. - Value $5.90
This is a brightening makeup base that hydrates and smooths the skin. When blended into the skin, it imparts a soft diffused glow, but that is a result of the white color and not necessarily because of reflective particles in the formula. Even when I blend in several layers of the makeup base, it doesn't really color correct or even out my skin tone in any way. Additionally, it feels a tad bit greasy on my skin, and the feeling doesn't go away. Unfortunately, this is a miss for me.

Somang M Cerade Professional Texturizing Hair Essence for Damaged Hair 200 ml/6.8 oz. - Value $15
This is a "ceramide-rich, revitalizing hair essence" that is applied to damp hair. It comes in a huge tube that will take me a long time to use up. I think the fragrance is the best part: it smells just like bubble gum! I applied this to the ends of my hair with the hopes of making my damaged ends softer and silkier. While I didn't see a dramatic difference, I did notice that the ends looked less scraggly and were easier to brush out after blow drying.
Etude House Honey Jelly Lip Patch - Value $3.30
This hydrogel lip patch contains a blend of honey, propolis, and royal jelly-- all amazing ingredients made from bees! The patch smelled and even tasted a little like honey! It adhered well to my skin but it took several attempts. Afterward, it left my lips plump, hydrated, and smooth. I think this would be great to use right before applying matte or liquid lipsticks.
Skinfood Nail Vita Essence - Value $7.99
Subscribers receive a random nail essence, and mine is from Skinfood, which is one of my favorite K-beauty brands. This nail essence is meant for dehydrated nails and cuticles. The formula is very creamy and smells like candy. It's easy to apply but takes a while to sink in if you don't rub it in. My nails and the area around my nails feel softer and more hydrated afterward. It's sold on Beauteque for $7.99 but I've found it elsewhere for as low as $1.03 (not including international shipping).
Verdict: This month's Beauteque BB Bag gets a hearty thumbs up from me. The total value is around $54, which is close to twice the cost of the box. The only item I dislike is the A'Pieu makeup base, and the rest range from good to really awesome. My favorite discovery is the A'Pieu Aqua Nature Dewdrop Clouding Cream. Plus, I appreciate that the lightweight moisturizer is a thoughtful inclusion in a spring box. This month is definitely one of my favorites from Beauteque.
