Grenade Soap Co. Gunsmoke Soap Bar - Value $8.99

This box is chock-full of Grenade Soap Co. offerings, which is great. A portion of their proceeds go to veterans and/or US law enforcement, and their packaging claims they are a #1 Veterans Business Alliance recommended brand, though I couldn’t verify that. Either way, they make some awesome products and many of them are featured in this box! This soap bar isn’t your ordinary soap-on-a-rope, it’s way more badass because it’s shaped like a grenade and comes with a removable stainless steel cable. It smells really good, and the cable can be reused over and over again; future soaps, keychains, general hanging of things. It’s grippy enough as is with its embossed grenade and logo pattern, but you definitely won’t be dropping it when you pair it with the next item...

Grenade Soap Co. T.A.I.N.T. Scrubber - Value $9.95

This tactical loofah is hilarious but also super effective. The grenade soap (or any full-sized soap bar) fits perfectly into the pouch. It has 2 sides, one that’s for rough scrubbing and dirt removal, and one that’s softer for more sensitive bits. There are rubber straps that are reversible so you can tactically use either side. You can lather up any sort of soap in there and clean up will be a breeze. I haven’t had occasion to use this yet, but I can already tell it’s a serious upgrade from my dollar store loofah.

Campack Towel - Value $10.99

You can never go wrong with a quick-dry, pack down towel. This little microfiber Campack towel measures about 23x25” when unfolded, and is enough to dry your body after a shower, if you wring it out once or twice. Wringing it out is a snap, and it dries really quickly. The attached carabiner makes it easy to lash on the outside of a bag to dry during the day, and you can remove the towel from the bag if you don’t want to keep knocking a carabiner against yourself as you towel off. Also, this could double as a bandana to keep wicking sweat off your brow or neck!

American Deodorant Co. Grenade Dry Antiperspirant - Value $7.99

More grenaaaaades! This fun grenade-shaped container houses a tube of “Masculine” scented dry deodorant. You can’t pull the pin out, but you can push the handle in, which forces the lid off. You spin the bottom to push up the stick (duh). The “Masculine” scent is basically a sport/fresh style, and it is supposed to keep you dry for 24 hours. American Deodorant also offers a 48-hour version if you’re gonna be out in the wild. I definitely appreciate the cool shape and branding, but I do feel like this is a bit oversized as far as deodorant goes. The stick inside is pretty skinny, so you’re gonna be sacrificing space for kitsch.

Coleman Camp Soap Sheets - Value $3.97

I had no idea what to expect when I saw this little plastic container, but I was really impressed with this item! Soap is heavy, and one of the hardest things to justify when you’re packing up for a long trip. These clock in at just under an ounce! These soap strips are paper-thin, there are fifty of them in this little plastic pocket, and they are completely biodegradable. They lather up really quickly and produce enough to easily wash hands and then some. If you were pressed for time and trying to get clean, you could easily do all the important washing with just a few of these strips. I immediately tossed these in my camping bag.

Epic Wipes Massive Re-freshening Wipe - Value $2.49

If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know I have a pile of these from a few other boxes, and I still haven’t found the right time to bust one out. I love the idea though! These wipes are huge - about 32”x20” or 16 times the size of a standard wet wipe, and they smell awesome (I love eucalyptus, to be fair). Each wipe is definitely enough to wipe down dirty arms, legs, face, and neck and get you feeling fresh again.

EZ Towels Compressed Disposable Towelettes - Value $8.63

These seem like some sort of futuristic spaceman item. A 9.5”x8.5” towel is going to pop out of this Milk Dud-Sized tablet? No way. But to my amazement, that’s what happened when I added a few drops of water. The towel that unfolds is pretty sturdy too, not necessarily as durable as a paper towel, but not far off. It would come in super handy in a million situations where you’re not carrying a roll of paper towels around, and I love that it came with a little case/dispenser. There are 50 of them in the resealable pouch, and you can fit 10 of them in the case. I can’t imagine needing more than 10 on most occasions, so I tossed the full case into my camping bag and a handful just loose into my daily bag. At the worst, I think they’ll absorb any moisture that makes its way in there! Bonus, since they’re made of rayon (basically cellulose) they are biodegradable, and they would break down quicker than cotton.

Grenade Soap Co. Tactical Toothbrush - Value $44.99

Alright, I’ll be honest. When I saw the words Tactical Toothbrush, I had no idea what to expect but assumed it was going to be ridiculous. I was surprised to find that this toothbrush is super functional and smartly designed. The handle comes packaged with a toothbrush head, but also features a pop-up storage rack for adding other Klecker tools. You could turn this toothbrush into an item as functional as a multi-tool pretty easily. I liked that the handle itself is ventilated so your toothbrush head doesn’t get gross. The included head has activated charcoal bristles that are naturally antibacterial and antifungal. At the bottom of the brush handle, there is a striker (removable, if you’re not feeling it) and a space for attaching a lanyard (or the steel cable from your grenade soap). This thing is pretty cool and feels really heavy-duty.

In addition to the items included in the Basic and Advanced boxes, here are the items included at the Pro level: ($99.99 cost / $225.98 value)

Six Shooter Shaving AR-6.S.S Razor - Value $49

We haven’t had a lot of firearms focused content from Battlbox in the last 6 months, the only thing I can really think of is the Battlbox tactical pen from last month’s EDC kit that kinda sorta looked like a gun barrel. While that sort of thing isn’t necessarily my forte, I can certainly appreciate the idea behind this razor handle. It’s modeled after an Armalite Rifle barrel, from 6061 aluminum, and finished in a flat black anodize layer. It’s got plenty of surface and nooks to grip, and the head will take replacement Mach 3 blades. I don’t use a razor on the rare occasion I do shave, so I didn’t test this guy out. I did really appreciate that it came in a nice gift box because I know a few guys who would be super into this!

Grenade Soap Co. Dopp Bag - Value $29.99

This dopp bag is huge! I wouldn’t necessarily classify it as a dopp bag due to its size, but I also travel light! I could honestly see this as enough room to squeeze in the essentials for a weekend, as long as you only needed 1-2 t-shirts/underwear/socks. Everything about this bag is heavy duty. It has a frame in the lid so it opens up like a doctor’s bag and stays open, allowing you access to the multitude of pockets inside. The base has some sort of insert keeping it flat and firm, so it will stand on its own. The zipper is really big and heavy - I don’t see any chance of it pulling apart. I was able to get everything from this month’s Battlbox in here with tons of room to spare, and I didn't even use the exterior pockets.

Grenade Soap Co. Broot Beard Oil - Value $18.99

This beard oil was developed with CURRIN1776 - VP of Marketing at Battlbox - in mind. He does all the unboxing videos for Battlbox and this month’s was a doozy. The beard oil smells exactly like root beer, it’s amazing! I really like that there is an eyedropper applicator too - some beard oils I’ve tried in the past require you to put the oil in your hands first. I added a few drops to my beard and I carried the sweet scent of sassafras with me all day. It softened up my facial hair as well, which was a nice bonus. I don’t need a lot, so this bottle will last me a really long time.

Brous Blades Minikami - Exclusive Limited Edition to Battlbox (1/6000) - Value $119.99

Brous Blades is run by Jason Brous, who has been machining since he was a teen. He’s made all sorts of knives that blend his love of the surreal with his passion for functional simplicity. The Minikami is no exception. It’s a super lightweight knife, the copper handle is thin which cuts the weight considerably, and the Battlbox branded clip will come in handy if you want to keep it at the ready in a pocket. It’s reminiscent of a barbershop style razor with the grippy tang piece, and thus is included in the dopp theme, but I agree with Battlbox that it could be more of a collector’s item. I put it in my EDC kit, replacing one of the heavier blades from an earlier box. It’s all the knife you need for most everyday applications and the copper blade is really handsome. The Minikami is exclusive to Battlbox subscribers and is individually numbered out of 6,000. It comes in a Brous-branded heavy duty case that could be reused for countless things. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity and an Allen wrench for taking it apart for cleaning.

Verdict: As usual, Battlbox wows me again. While I won’t necessarily use every item in the box, the value vs. cost is through the roof, and the curation is spot-on. The value here is $345.97, which is amazing for a $149.99 box! I’m thoroughly impressed with all the items, and I love seeing a bunch of items from a company that supports veterans. I am already looking forward to next month’s delivery!
