Happy Mail is a monthly subscription from A Beautiful Mess. The gals behind this DIY and lifestyle blog are known for their cute, creative take on stationery. I love their tagline "we're bringing thoughtful back"!

"Thanks For That Thing You Did" Card

This is my first time reviewing this box, but I've personally been an ABM fan for a few years. They have a knack for creating cute and quirky designs and DIY projects.

This thank you card is perfect for, well, anything! It's blank inside so lots of room to say thanks. I love having spare Thank You cards around since I'm more likely to send a note if I have stationery on hand.

Thank You Thank You Thank You Card

This petite card is also blank inside, and since it's smaller would be perfect to tuck into a thank-you gift. The lettering on this one is so fun!

"Happy Birthday" Card with Balloons

Love the colors on this square card, which is blank inside. Again, I try to keep a few birthday cards in my office at home, so they are easy to grab last minute.

Gold Foil Scribble Card

The foil on this one is so beautiful! This is a medium sized blank card with a classy black envelope. I really love that the design stands out and could be used for any occasion.

Party Hat Card

This is a sweet, simple birthday card - I love that many of the cards in this box would be appropriate for nearly all ages!

Mother's Day Hands Card

It's nice that ABM includes some seasonal cards in their subscription, since this is one less card I have to buy elsewhere! This funky and modern hand pattern is perfect for my mom, too.

I Think You're Spectacular Card

This card isn't folded, though it has a blank back - it's like a postcard meant to be tucked into an envelope. The detail on the glasses is adorable, there are even small blue reflections shaping the lenses!

Yoohoo Postcard

I love this postcard! The bright pink foliage letters are so trendy right now, and this would be a really fun card to get in the mail, too. Sending postcards randomly to friends is something I really enjoy, so I'm sure to use this one soon.

Bra-vo! Card

This is another unfolded card, with the message on the reverse side. This design is definitely more quirky and totally unique, and I love it! I will have to keep this one until I find just the right person and right occasion, but I know it'll bring a smile to someone's face.

Dog Congrats Card

This card also has the message on the reverse:" Congrats... on your new furry addition!" This one has a very specific use for sending to new dog parents, which is an adorable idea.

I might have to hang onto this for awhile before I can use it, but I'm sure whoever gets it will be super happy. And I'd never think to send a card when someone gets a new pup - so I feel like A Beautiful Mess is actually living up to their promise that "we're bringing thoughtful back"!

Finally, this box included some other non-card goodies:

Blush Pen

I *love* hexagon pens because they don't roll off the table! I've gotten a few before at Japanese stationery stores and they are some of my favorites. This pen writes super smoothly and it'll definitely be perfect for writing personal notes in these cards.

Address Stickers

These are simple and fun - I could see myself using them for both small packages and as a way to add a little punch to the outside of an envelope.

A-beautiful-mess-happy-mail-april-2017-0005

Vinyl Record Stickers

It's funny how such a simple thing can make you smile! I love these stickers and think they'd be perfect for using to seal envelopes before mailing; they're a little over an inch wide each.

Secret Message Capsules

These are adorable - they open up to reveal a tiny scroll of paper, so you can write a little love note and seal it back up! I feel like these have a lot of potentially fun applications but they're also so tiny I'm afraid of losing them (or, worse, afraid my kid might try to eat them). I'm thinking I may write encouraging notes on them and put them in a little jar to gift to my mom for her desk at work, so she can take one out if she's ever feeling stressed.

Bloom Bloom Bloom Print

The last item in this box is this 8.5 x 11 art print. It's personally not something I'm inclined to hang in my home, but I think it would be adorable to add to a gift for a nice pop of color. I also think art from subscription boxes is great to use to brighten up your office space, or even to hang on your fridge since it's easy to rotate out and doesn't need framing.

Verdict: What a fun stationery box! All of the cards are printed on nice quality card stock and the whole package feels cohesive. With an annual subscription, this box would cost you $15/month, which seems like a great bargain considering I regularly buy similar cards from our local hipster stationery store for closer to $5 each. (A Beautiful Mess cards are normally $3 each on their site, plus shipping.) I love the mix of cards too, some that I'll use no matter what for birthdays etc, and the more unique designs that will get saved for just the right moment - this box definitely makes me want to send more mail!

What do you think of the April 2017 Happy Mail Box?

I am so pleased that I subscribed to Happy Mail!!!! The cards are lovely – but more than that I am impressed with their customer service. They went above and beyond anything I anticipated or hoped for. I messed up and ordered the wrong subscription- I ordered the scrap-booking club instead of the mailing club.. (So choose carefully on the website)…. and they fixed it for me promptly!!!! Love these customer service oriented peeps for taking such good care of me!!!!!!! Love their cards too!

I’ve been eyeing a card subscription for awhile now. I just need to subscribe finally… I’ll ask the forum for the best one.

This was my first month with Happy Mail. I was hesitant because the price was low for what you got. I assumed low quality. However, I’m very happy with my haul! The cards actually feel like good quality. Thick paper. I’m not sure if these are small batch or anything but for the price, I’m happy. Some are super specific like the dog one. I prefer cards that are blank inside. That’s the only downside I see. The stickers are nice and thick too.

I thought the same thing! They aren’t small-batch letterpress cards, but they’re really nice, just as nice (or nicer) as anything I’d buy from Target, Walgreens, etc.
