  1. I have sort of talked myself into buying this despite detesting the scent of honey: I really want to try the masks and the deodorant, my SIL has rosacea and might benefit from the day cream and I already use the mist so it would be nice to have a travel size.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with either the masks or the deodorant and can comment about them.

    • I think both products are fairly new to the market…. which is why I’ve been wanting to try them out for a little while! πŸ™‚

  2. If I didn’t have so much skin care.. I would be all over this!

  3. I’m upset I missed the space nk, I wouldve loved it

    • It should come again in September.

    • Cindy’s right. They usually do their GWP bags 2x per year, once in February, and the other in September. You might want to also check out Bloomingdale’s site, as they have a sort of partnership with Space NK, and they do a similar sized GWP as well this time of year. Sometimes, they’re similar (which I think I read it was this time around), and sometimes they’re mostly different, while still having the same value. Also, sometimes they come back in stock since they didn’t sell out.

  4. Does anyone have experience with the May Lindstrom cleanser? How much does it smell like honey? I love her products, but, and it’s a big BUT, I can’t stand the smell of honey in a skin product.

Also, agree with those discussing the GWP events. I love those!

    • I think it smells a lot like honey, but you can order a sample kit from the detox market for 7.99 for any 4 samples of pretty much any product they sell. Not huge samples but enough for 1 or 2 uses, you can definitely tell if you like them. Shipping is 1.99. Takes less than a week. It’s completely worth it for these expensive products when you don’t live close to any major shopping areas.

      • Thank you. I know I would not like it in that case.

      • What’s the detox market? I hate investing in full sized versions of products because my skin often reacts

        • The Detox Market is a green beauty store.

      • I think it smells like Bailey’s Irish Cream. πŸ™‚

        • Ha! that’s a better smell…thinking back, my first one may have smelled more than that, but I definitely get honey from the one I have now. Of course, I know it’s in there, so maybe I am looking for it. Also I think it can vary a little from batch to batch. It’s such a personal perception, that’s why I order samples. It’s interesting, I had wanted her Blue Cocoon, but I got the sample and that particular fragrance is one I know I won’t be able to use, but everyone else loves it.

  5. Liz, please review! πŸ™‚

  6. I’ve never heard of Violet Grey or any of these brands except Tata Harper (not unusual for me) but these products all look lovely – too bad the website doesn’t have reviews on them.

Would love to see a review of the box! I don’t need more beauty products in my stash (except sheet masks – never enough!) but I like that all the proceeds go to charity.

    • Violet Grey is a store in Los Angeles on Melrose Place that carries all the newest and greatest “Hollywood approved” beauty lines. They usually get the latest and the greatest, some of whichever are exclusive to them. Somewhat pricey but worth every penny if you’re an addict like me 😜

  7. Agree re the Space NK gift! I couldn’t find a link to the Barney’s Love Yourself gift. Could you please share? Thank you!

    • Hi Jeanne, they don’t have it live in the website yet. It officially starts on the 8th. If you’d like to presale, you can call the Beverly Hills store, ask for Henry 310-276-4400. I think the threshold is $200 but we all know, we can hit that really fast! He can ship to you for free too!

    • Love Yourself starts on the 8th. The ‘buy in’ is $200. Quite a few lines are doing step up gifts as well as the bag. The step ups are not all the same in each store so it pays to determine what it is and what the threshold is for the step up that interests you. I have already placed two ‘pre-orders’. You can pre-order with an associate at the stores.

Not familiar with Skinstore….can anyone educate me on that GWP event please?

      • Skinstore is actually associated with Lookfantastic. Last year, their GWP occurred around the end of March, had a $250 buy-in (but there was a 20% off coupon that could be stacked with the GWP), had a $518 value, and had 35 items. They featured brands you’d find in stores like Sephora, Nordstrom, and Dermstore, to name a few.

    • Just thought I’d mention… the Barney’s lady I’ve been in contact with has said their GWP will run from 3/7-3/11, and they’re doing pre-orders 3/1-3/6.

      • I’m interested! Do you happen to know what the GWP is?

        • It has 21 products, and I believe it’s usually marketed as having more than a $400 value. I think the only full-size items are a Givenchy lipstick and a single 111 Skin sheet mask. The rest are deluxe samples and include items from the following brands:
3Lab, Byredo, Davines, Diptyque, Kevyn Aucoin, Kiehl’s, La Mer, Loewe, Malin + Goetz, Marvis, NARS, Natura Bisse, Oribe, Rahua, Rituals, Sachajuan, Sisley Paris, Tatcha, YSL.

Usually, there’s slight variations on the GWPs. For example, maybe the same brands will be featured, but the products may be different.

          • Her accuracy is usually spot on! FYI

  8. There’s Luna again making me spend my money! πŸ™‚ Thanks Luna, for sure grabbing one of these.
BTW, totally different note, Barney’s Love Yourself is on pre-sale now and the Space NK gift was superb!

    • Hi KarenG! I got this too! Such a great deal. πŸ™‚ I’ve been looking for an excuse to purchase a May Lindstrom product, and for $10 more I get all of the other goodies for “free”! All of which I’ve been wanting to try already (with the exception of the lip mask, which will be gifted).

Yes, the Space NK gift was awesome as usual! πŸ™‚ I’m already in talks with a Barney’s rep to possibly do a pre-order (she gave me a list of all of the skincare brands my location sells), but I’d prefer to go to the store myself as I like to touch & feel the products before purchasing them. I’m not sure if you’ve ever shopped at Cult Beauty, but they should be having their tri-annual GWP bag coming out soon too. It’s pretty awesome (the last one had a full-size May Lindstrom The Youth Dew!). Also last year Skinstore had a pretty awesome GWP around this time too (same buy-in as Space NK, but over $500 worth of goodies!). These GWPs are so awesome, but it’s too bad they’re not spread out a little so I wouldn’t go into shock after seeing how much I spent in such a short period of time. ha! πŸ˜€

      • I just wrote all these down- I missed them all except the cult beauty:) (side note- I have Skincare addict FOMO and of course think of cost only after I’ve clicked buy:)
do they notify in their normal mailer? Not sure I can stomach more daily emails, and knowing me, I’d miss the one with the details:).
I would be endlessly grateful if someone let Liz know if/when these gems are coming up for pre-sale:)!

        • Ha ha. I’m a total skincare junkie too! While how much I spend on it never escapes me, investing in skincare has never bothered. I’m incredibly frugal & a minimalist when it comes to virtually everything else in my life, so there’s never any guilt associated with my skincare splurges. πŸ™‚

Yes, they usually either give you a heads up an event is coming, or they’ll let you know once it’s launched.

I’ve always thought that’d be so cool if MSA had a GWP section. There are so many awesome ones out there!

      • It would be nice if they could give us a little breathing room. I just shelled out for space nk in February, now Barneys. I’m definitely going to check out cult beauty. I’m going to buy these items anyway, might as well get gifts 🎁 too! I’m in ❀ with Diptyque so I can always buy more Baies candles

        • I LOVED the Diptyque rose candle that came in the Space NK GWP! I was also able to stack on about four or five additional GWPs with my order, and one of them was a really nice sized Diptyque rollerball perfume (I can’t remember the scent), because I had purchased the Diptyque cleansing balm (I’m so addicted to cleansing balms right now πŸ™‚ ).

I found out that my Barney’s sells Aesop, which is a brand I’ve been wanting to get into, so I think that’s where my focus will be for Barney’s event. πŸ™‚

          • Aesop has very nice scents. Luna, I don’t know where you l live but if you were in Southern California, I would bet we would run into each other at Barneys πŸ™‚
There’s Aesop in Venice on Abott Kinney, Space NK and Blue Mercury in Santa Monica. It’s heaven. Diptyque and Jo Malone in Beverly Hills too! Scent bar on Beverly in WeHo. It’s everything.
I love Baies and received the Roses candle as a GWP, I think I’ve fallen for that too. Oh Boy…

          • Oh my gosh… we would tear those stores up!!! πŸ˜€

Wow! You’ve got some awesome stores near you! Lucky!!! πŸ™‚ I just found out there’s an Aesop store near me, but it’s in a section of my city where the parking is horrendous. But, my local Nordstrom just started carrying, what appears to be, their whole line. And, it’s news to me that my local Barney’s (which is actually an incredibly small Barney’s) carries it too! I would LOVE it if there was a Space NK near me. I’d also love it if there was at least one green beauty store near me too that sells some of the higher-end to luxury green beauty brands like CAP Beauty, The Detox Market, Follain, Credo, etc. They all seem to be in NY or CA. Wah!

      • For all who might be interested, the Cult Beauty Goody Bag is now available with a Β£110 purchase. I’ve been eyeing a moisturizer that happens to be exactly Β£110 so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. FYI, after the UK sales tax was automatically subtracted (since the order is shipping to the US) my total came to something like Β£95 and my order still includes the goody bag, so as long as the total WITH UK sales tax is at least Β£110 you’re golden.

        • Got it first thing this morning πŸ™‚ Thanks!

        • I received the email this morning too. It looks amazing! I’m a bit nervous ordering from Cult Beauty though because I was reading reviews and there are 100’s of terrible reviews on people never getting their orders and then customer service won’t get back to them. I’m not sure what to think… as anyone here ever had problems with them? Thanks!

          • I have only ordered from them three times in the past (today is the fourth). Luckily I have not had an issue. In fact, I already got a shipping notice this afternoon. They do not, however, provide tracking.

          • This will be my third order from them because the prices on some things and their GWPs are so good. My first order took a long time to arrive and I was worried it was lost forever. Their website says 5-10 business days but mine arrived 15 business days after I placed it. Customer service got back to me after I emailed them, but they weren’t really helpful. (Told me there was no way to track it, maybe give it some time, etc.) My second order arrived faster. There’s an option to pay for faster shipping with tracking, but I’ve had decent luck so far with regular (free!) shipping.

          • Thank you everyone who replied. It definitely helped ease my mind. I think I’m going to go for it now. I’m still a bit nervous though. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.

          • This is either my 3rd or 4th time buying from Cult Beauty. The first two or three times I got my package in record time…. around 2 or 3 days, tops. No joke! I was very pleasantly surprised. This last time it took about a week or week and a half to get to me. Since I’ve never had any problems yet, I chose the free shipping this time too. If you’re uneasy, maybe you should spring for the tracked shipping for the peace of mind.

        • Which one did you get? I got two items that added to just over 110 lbs (can’t get symbol). Excited to get my package, though I know it will be at least a week, if not two.

          • I got the Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream–so excited for this one! What did you get?

          • I got Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser and Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Primer.

          • Just thought I’d share…. I got the Skin Owl Neck+ (love that stuff! I discovered it in an Art of Organics box) and the de Mamiel Rejuvenating Cleansing Balm. They totaled exactly 110 GBP! πŸ™‚

          • Ooh, I put that Skin Owl Neck + on my Cult Beauty wishlist last week–my neck is juuuuust starting to go rogue. Good to hear someone recommend it. Is it a lotion? Oil? I can’t really tell from the description.

          • Hi Amy! πŸ™‚ It’s actually more of a light gel consistency that spreads very easily, and absorbs into the skin very quickly. However, some sort of moisturizing product is needed after application. You’ll feel the firming effects within minutes of application, but not in an uncomfortable way.

I was actually quite bummed when I realized the skin on my neck and chest was very sensitive to the conventional types of neck creams, but knowing Skin Owl used natural ingredients, I decided to re-subscribe to Art of Organics just to try their neck product (at a nice discount!). I definitely would highly recommend this product, because not only have I had absolutely no sensitivity reaction to it, but it really works!!! I used to always sleep on my stomach, and side so I ended up developing those U shaped lines on my chest (my neck for the most part is okay though, so far), and after using the product only a few times per week since late last year (a little goes a long way, so one bottle will last me months), I can BARELY see the lines anymore!!! I don’t even think they’re noticeable at all to anyone who’s not me. πŸ˜€ I know Cult Beauty does their goody bags either 2x or 3x per year, so this will be a staple for me each time they come around. πŸ™‚

          • Thanks, Luna! I’m really looking forward to trying it. I’d like to say that I’ll wait until the next CB goody bag offer rolls around but I know myself pretty well at this point and I give it a month, tops, before I order it 😊

        • Just be aware: If you get regular shipping, it will be delivered by USPS. If you choose to pay for tracked shipping, it will come through DHL which has a much higher incidence of charging import duties.

        • I just snagged one of these. Got aromatherapy associates, Sunday Riley and neom candles. Exactly 110 GBP they took out taxes and it was 91 GBP. I like that the gwp has different brands from Barneys. Makes March and exciting month!

          • I agree! I always look forward to March, September & the holidays for these awesome GWP offers. I’m already looking forward to seeing what will be in Barney’s holiday curated boxes this year too!. I think one of the men’s was still available, which I already purchased, but was super inclined to purchase again just because it’s an awesome deal, and I would use the gender neutral products, then gift the men’s items. But it’s $275, and since these GWPs are all happening at once, I need to pace myself and only spend no more than $20 over the GWP purchase requirement. So far I’ve been lucky and spending exactly the minimum required. πŸ™‚

    • Oh! And, I think Blue Mercury is having one right now too, but I think I’m going to pass on that one since they tend to do GWP’s multiple times per year. I just did one from The Detox Market, and of course Space NK, and with the others coming up soon… πŸ™‚
