For the first time ever, this box came with an info sheet! I’m so pleased that PourMore included information about this bottle and why they picked it!

Wigle Organic Pennsylvania Bourbon - Value $58.00

This month’s Bourbon Explorer selection is a 92-proof organic bourbon whiskey from Pennsylvania’s Wigle Distillery. Wigle is a new discovery for me, and I love the quirky, modern design of the label:

This bourbon is made using winter wheat, malted barley, and Wapsie Valley corn.

This bourbon smells wonderful. On the nose, I get a sweet corn aroma with hints of oak, vanilla, and caramel.

From the smell of this bourbon, I was expecting the flavor to be sweet and caramel-y, but it’s a lot more reserved than that. It’s dry, spicy, and smoky. There is a little bit of sweetness, but it reminds me more of dark brown sugar than the caramel/ toffee flavor I expected to find. I like this bourbon, but I’m not sure I like it enough to drink it straight. I think I’ll probably reserve this bottle for cocktails.

Verdict: I really enjoy discovering new distilleries with my PourMore subscription! This bottle isn’t my favorite, but I like it. (Last month’s pick from Litchfield distillery is a hard bottle to top!) The value of this month’s pick doesn’t meet the cost of the subscription, but it’s important to note that the value does fluctuate from month to month. In the last few months, I’ve seen bottles range in value from $42.99 all the way up to $99.99.

Same…Kind of a love hate relationship, when you wait all month and the whiskey sucks it’s annoying but when it’s a good one it makes it all worth it. I’d say it’s a good subscription if you can afford it if not then go to a liquor store on a friday.

I am quiet the whiskey fanatic and love opening my pallet to new tastes. I signed up for Pourmore 3 months ago and thoroughly enjoyed every bottle that I received. One of my bottles was 5 days late but I enjoyed it when it finally showed up. Other than that, Ive been happy with this subscription.

It’s the 28 the of April and I still have yet to receive my April bottle.
My March bottle was supposed to be replaced, they shipped the wrong bottle, that hasn’t happened either.
With 2 months into this subscription at $239 plus shipping per month I have yet to receive a bottle of Scotch. I wish I had not prepaid for a year subscription.

AVOID THIS SUBSCRIPTION.
