Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

There was beach-themed confetti in the packaging this month. They have been doing something fun each month. There were smaller pieces, too, and they got EVERYWHERE.

The box came with an information card detailing the items for March. The theme was “Tropical Getaway.”

orglamix-march-2017-tan

Monoi de Tahiti Oil – Listed Value $28

The information booklet suggested using this to give yourself a glow after sun exposure or on medium-toned skin. I, however, am the palest foundation shade and I don’t go out in the sun (family history of skin cancer) so a product like this is not really going to work for me (swatch below). The pump was also difficult to get working. I will find another home for this with someone who will get more use out of it. (It *is* the season of bronzers in beauty subscription boxes…)

orglamix-march-2017-perfume

Tropical Getaway Solid Perfume – Listed Value $9

You’ll often get fragrance oils or solid perfumes in Orglamix. This one smells really good. It is floral, but I think I detect some tropical fruit notes in there too. I think the combination is great.

Coconut Colada Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

You’ll usually get at least one loose eyeshadow in Orglamix (sometimes more). This is a good, neutral color with a little bit of sparkle (swatch below). I do have some similar colors in my collection, but nothing identical. I like the formula of these (it’s non-irritating) and I think this brown will look great with a bit of bold, bright eyeliner.

orglamix-march-2017-mask

Pineapple + Papaya Brighten Instant Glow Mask – Listed Value $38

I think the instruction booklet is wrong here as it is suggested this be used like or with a moisturizer (probably a copy-paste error or something left over from an old template). Pineapple and papaya have the enzymes bromelain and papain, respectively, and are often used in gentle peels. Since I recently ran out of sheet masks (can you believe it? I used to have a shoebox overflowing with them), I tried this one, this morning, and I used it like I would use any rinse-off mask. I think it will take a few uses to see real results, though, so I’ll try it a couple of times a week since there is a generous amount in the jar.

orglamix-march-2017-bath-bomb

Tiare Mahoi Bath Bomb – Listed Value $5

We’ve started getting a few bath products in Orglamix. It’s nice to get a subscription with just one bath bomb – there is actually a hope of using that in a month. This one smells nice; hopefully, I will get a chance to try it out soon (no time for a bath on weeknights!). I did like the bath tea from last month so I have high hopes.

orglamix-march-2017-swatch

Here are swatches of the eyeshadow (top) and “Monoi de Tahiti” oil. I did find, as I tried to wash the oil off, that you can thin it out a bit, but it is still quite dark for someone with my skin tone.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $92.50 for the March Orglamix subscription box. I did have to take all the values from the information card since none of these items were available in the Orglamix shop. (This subscription does have a lot of exclusive items and colors.) But even if you think the prices of one or two items are a little inflated, overall, you are still getting merchandise worth well above the cost of the box. Although one item didn’t end up working out for me, the others were all much appreciated.
