Each Quarterly box comes with a letter from the curator describing the theme for that quarter, and background on every item they selected.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0012

For this box, Nina focused on some of her favorite items for her office!

Now, onto the items!

Karl Lagerfield Paris Shopper Tote – Value $178 (colors will vary)

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0032

This reversible tote is made with a faux leather and gold metal accents. (Subscribers may receive different colors, but all totes have a black side.) UPDATE: It looks like all bags will all either have a black or white reversible side.

This tote measures 13″W X 12″H X 5.5″D, with a removable adjustable crossbody strap (19″-23″), and removable double top handles.

Inside, there is a zippered black pouch.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0036

The raised rectangle on the either side is a magnet – it’s a pretty strong magnetic closure!

And here it is reversed:

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0037

Black is my color of choice when it comes to accessories and clothing, so I’ll primarily be using this side!

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0038

I love this little, zippered pouch, too. It’s a perfect way to deal with the fact that a reversible bag can’t have inner pockets.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0039

One word of caution – I flipped this purse from pink to black to pink again, and that resulted in the faux leather material looking a tad bumpy in places. (I’d recommend changing the colors in this purse as few times as possible.)

Rifle Paper CO Notepad – Value $8.50

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0031

I love Rifle Paper Co. designs, so I was thrilled to see this in the box. It has already improved the look of my desk!

Oh, Hello Friend Gold Handled Scissors – Value $12

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0021

These adorable little scissors are made from gold plated stainless steel.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0022

I love the art deco design and the text on the blade! (The scissors measure about 3 1/2″ long and blade makes a 1″ cut mark.)

American Atelier Round Mirror Tray from Jay Companies – Value $40

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0009

This mirrored tray is gorgeous! It’s bigger than I was expecting, too. (15 inches across.) It has a good weight to it, (AKA it doesn’t feel cheap), and I love the simple design.

Now the challenge is figuring out where to put it – I have a lot of ideas and need to pick one! I think it would be perfect on our coffee table, our bar, my vanity…. too many options!

Russell + Hazel Acrylic Tape Dispenser – Value $20

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0025

I received this tape dispenser before thanks to the Fall 2016 Happy Rebel Box and I love it.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0024

Acrylic + gold looks so chic, plus it takes up less visual space on my desk!

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0015

Your Tea Antioxidant Tea – Value $35

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0017

This box comes with 60 tea bags! (I’m so used to getting a single tea bag or two in subscription boxes – this was a nice surprise!)

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0018

The tea is a blend of Ginko Biloba, Eucommia Ulmoides Oliver, Ginseng, Lucid Ganoderma, Fleeceflower Root, Barbary Wolf Berry fruit, Coin Lacryma-jobi Linn, Poria, Chinese Red Tea, Cinnamon, and Rose.

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0019

The tea is organic and I like the flavor. The only issue I had was that I couldn’t find if this was caffeine-free or not from the packaging. I talked to their customer care on chat and received this answer:

Our teas can contain low amount of natural caffeine. We don’t caffeinate (add caffeine)to any. Whats in them is only naturally occurring caffeine that is naturally found in tea.

Organic Herbal Lip Balm from Dr. Barney Kenet – Value $6

Nina-garcia-quarterly-march-2017-0028

This organic lip balm is my new favorite lip product! It’s super moisturizing, gives my lips a light sheen, and has a subtle minty flavor, too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $300. I think that’s great for a $100 box, especially for a Quarterly box. I’ll use everything in this box, and I would gladly pay retail price for several of the items in this box (that tray!) so the value is definitely there for me.

What do you think of #NGQ09? What is your favorite item in the box? What color purse did you get?

  1. This was her best box yet. I use everything. My back was saddle brown and black. I get lots of compliments. All the desk stuff is super. This is my fifth box and definately my favorite one.

  2. I emailed quarterly earlier in the week and they responded stating I missed the deadline to get this box. The said to contact them at the end of the week after they shipped all boxes to see if there are extras. I hope there are because I want this box.

  3. I think that the tray is super ugly.

    • lol

    • The tray is gorgeous

  4. Great review! Looks like there is variation on bag color and scissor (I got a heart shaped one).

This would have been one of my favorite box, except I pray I don’t get the brown bag (saddle as called) every other color is great or acceptable, and brown bag it is for me 🙁

So either I will use the back as outside and suffer the brown inside, or I might be able to swap it..

  5. Oh man. Box envy. I live every item and Lagerfeld is my favorite designer 😮

  6. Your bag is gorgeous! I received the black/black which is beautiful but I am lucky to be swapping for the blush/black. This was my first Nina box and I absolutely love it!

    • What a great box to start with! Glad you love it, too! 🙂

  7. Is this box still for sale? If I subscribe to one box, will I get this one, do you think? It’s such a great box!!

    • I just emailed [email protected] to ask. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back.

  8. This box sold out before I could order it, I would have loved everything!

  9. My Karl bag is beige and white. I was hoping for at least one side to be black. The shape of the bag is nice, classic, and I like the pouch. Unfortunately, the beige shade color is super ugly and I’ll definitely never wear it on the white side. The material feels cheap, which is really unacceptable, it makes the bag unwearable. When I tried to reverse it the material became all dented. I subscribed because of the bag, and I’m super disappointed. I’m never going to use this bag, and I’m too embarrassed to give it as a gift to anyone. The tray is huge, and the greenish brown color is also ugly.

    • Oh no! So sorry about your bag. I thought everyone would be getting a version with a black color. I’ll update the post.

    • I would be happy to swap with you if you see something on my list that you like. 😉 I am interested in everything in this box. Wish I could have bought it! If anyone else out there wants to swap for anything, check me out! 😉

    • Wow this must be individual taste because I LOVE the tray. Its probably one of my favorite items ever. It looks amazing on my buffet.

    • I just received my box about an hour ago. My bag is also beige and white, a big surprise as I thought they would all have a black interior. I am not a beige person, I like black, white and jewel colors. But now that I have the bag, I like it, I think it is great for spring and summer. I am a bit concerned about possible easy scuffing and marking of the bag, I will need to be particularly mindful. i like that the bags are vegan, and my opinion is does not look cheap. It is also very sturdy and a generous size, I have found sometimes the bags that come with subscription boxes are sized down with small openings.

Did anyone receive the red and black bag?

      • If you wear a lot of black and white, the beige will look great with it. Calvin Klein does a lot of black, white, and beige looks and it’s really pretty and sophisticated.
