Some Ipsy subscribers have been given the option to select one of their samples for the April box via email. And if you email ipsy, they'll likely help you select a sample, too!

I think that’s an automatic computer generated message that everyone who emails them gets. I got it even when I responded to the email they sent me. I heard back with a few hours I believe.

I just sent a request for the Tony Moly lipcare, even though I know its a long shot because I think they’re out. But its the only thing at all I’m interested in, my bags have been such a miss for so long. I’ve been a customer for a few years, review my bags…but Sephora Play has been awesome, except for this last bag and only cause I’m not a glowy kind of girl, lol!

I emailed them asking if I could request either the Ofra blush or Colourpop eyeliner and not only did they email me back the same day, but they asked me what shades I would want in each! Ipsy has really stepped up their game as far as trying to please everyone, which is mind boggling considering how many subscribers they have. For a $10 beauty box, this is honestly the best in my opinion.

I’m not super excited by any of the choices this month. I’m tempted by the brush, but I just bought a new brush set (unicorn brushes!) and have more blush brushes than I could ever use. I might just make the whole bag a surprise – I almost always check out the spoilers on other subs and haven’t been surprised by them in a while. 🙂

Personally I think this response has a rude undertone.

I had emailed from my 1st sub a few weeks ago and requested the Lisa Frank brush. Here’s the response I received- way different tone:

I did rate the cs rep because that’s the only way they will know how it comes across. I’m not sure I will respond to “Cutie.” I emailed the gal from my 1st sub again and asked her if I could contact her every month. Then at least I know I would have a good cs rep. If you’re thinking of asking for a choice, you may want to look at the updated available items in the beginning of this post. Looks like some items are no longer available.

So far from what I’ve seen with other subscribers in other groups and sites, this seems to be the common response they are getting. I don’t think it’s meant to be rude, it think it’s the party line. The employees have to cover themselves so they don’t come across as biased.

Personally, I don’t see this response as rude. It’s stating a policy and just reinforcing that ipsy doesn’t guarantee samples for all subscribers. While it’s not as smiley as the first email, it doesn’t seem inappropriate.

The thing that might make it seem rude is their inconsistent response. After getting a guarantee at first, it seems a little weird. I wonder if it’s because it’s later in the month and they just don’t have the same stock of samples they had in week 1…

Do you thnk that if you requested something before (Ex. Ofra Blush), you can request one of the new items (Ex. Colourpop Gel Eyeliner) along with it? Did you do that?

I keep getting items I don’t use and ones I dislike. I updated my profile to be sure it said no oils/seirums, or others I don’t use. But I still keep getting them. I leave positive reviews on all the items I receive that I love and use, hoping that will help…..but nope. Any tips?

Definitely hoping I can get the Lisa Frank too.

I have had two Ipsy subscriptions for almost three years. I made two totally different profiles; age, different color hair and eyes and chose all products that were not selected on the first account. The only thing that was the same was the address, credit card and my skin tone. I ALWAYS had repeats….usually 3, but sometimes I received the EXACT same bag. I contacted customer service multiple times but they always replied that their algorithms were not set up for different bags to same address. They actually told me I should just cancel one subscription if I wanted to avoid sample repeats. Who does this? Who tells someone to just unsubscribe? And yes, my letters were always very kind and respectful. To make matters worse, if I received duplicate products, they were ALWAYS in the same shade when shades found vary. I have no idea why this was so hard. So I finally took their advice and canceled my second bag this month. With all of this being said, I always read about people who ge totally different bags or maybe just one repeat. So if you try, I hope you are one of the lucky ones!! Although I DID always have a small gift for someone if I needed one….😸 My mom lives across town at another zip code and her products usually differed from mine as well. She left this month too but it was because she was on product overload. Maybe I should re-open her account and get what she normally gets at her address. Hmmmmm. Oh well, good luck!!!!

You have to set up different preferences for your second account. For example, if you choose lipsticks, lipbalms, and hair products (in the glambag questionnaire) then choose concealer, foundation etc in your second account. This way, you will get different products in both the bags. Hope this helps!:)

I requested the Colourpop gel liner in the maroon/eggplant shade & ipsy confirmed I’ll receive it in April! I’m so excited & think it’ll really make my blue-green eyes pop!

The only brush I need is a blush brush but i still requested that Lisa Frank in my bag!!! WHY? Because its Lisa Frank!!!!! LOL Yay received my confirmation email earlier, fingers crossed. I did received my last months selection so im hopeful 🙂

Requested the Liptone this month but they emailed me back and told me that it was unavailable : (. She gave me options that are listed here but the dry shampoo wasn’t one of them.

This exact Lisa Frank brush is pre-sale for $4.99. I did the pre-sale and the kickstarter awhile back. So in case those that want the brush but don’t get it, it’s super cheap!!! 🙂

I requested the OFRA Blush during the 1st sppoiler reveal and got an email from IPSY, confirming my selection. Now, if I email them saying that I want the ColorPop pencil, will they cancel my blush selection and change it to ColorPop or will I get them both?

I have never subscribed to Ipsy before; April would be my first month. So I am very confused about this.

Sometimes they don’t listen and go with your first pick. That’s what they did to me last month. I think you just have to tell them that you would like this over this:)

Omg, I asked for the Ofra blush but now I want Mr. Bing (it’s my favorite brown eyeliner for every day use). My Mr. Bing is almost gone. Love colourpop!

I’m really excited about the ColourPop spoiler, too! I requested the TonyMoly, but I’ve given high ratings to other eyeliners I’ve gotten in the past, so hopefully I get both!

That’s strange. I requested the OFRA Blush back then and got a reply from them within a day. After seeing this spoiler, I asked them to change my selection to the ColourPop Gel pencil and surprisingly, they replied me back within 2 hours!!

Maybe you should try requesting again? Try adding a few sweet words along with some ‘please’ and ‘thank yous’ and maybe they’ll reply? This trick has worked for me many times. Good luck though! 🙂

Hmm, I am tempted to switch from Sephora Play to ipsy. I have a lot of glamglow or glow-type products I will never use, in addition to a crazy, pink sparkly lipstick.

I just swapped my entire Play! Box from March. It’s been super disappointing to me lately. I’m enjoying Ipsy much more. I also have Beauty Box 5 that I got the Black Friday deal on (only $7.95 per month for a year!) and it’s even better than my Play boxes.
