Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc. The Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box.

Note: Pretty much every item in this box is exclusive so I have taken the values from the information card.

Cat Parade Canvas Bin – Listed Value $16.99

Before you ask, yes, I tried to take a picture of a cat sitting IN the bin, but they wouldn’t cooperate. Anyway, this is a really good size to keep some in-progress loom knitting in (has space for the loom and a few skeins of yarn) so I think that’s what I’ll do with it.

“You Had Me at Meow” Shirt – Listed Value $19.99

There are a lot of shirts in Cat Lady Box. This one is not as over-the-top as some of the past designs. But it is good for weekend trips to the grocery store, especially in the weather we’ve been having lately around here. This one is a little bit big for me but not too bad (can’t size down to XS as it is not offered).

Spring Cleaning Catnip Mop – Listed Value $4.99

Crunchy Catnip Umbrella – Listed Value $5.99

If you have the “Crazy” Cat Lady version of the box, you’ll get a few cat toys. For the past few months (at least), they have been custom toys that nicely fit the overall box theme. Sneaky really liked the umbrella (Angus did, too) and the mop was also popular. While it didn’t have feathers, the little stringy bits at the end seemed to be fun for my crew. (These toys seem well made and even though they are large – see them with cats below – they are not too big for my cats to be interested.)

Sweet Spring Kitty Umbrella – Listed Value $29.99

I actually still have the umbrella from last April's Cat Lady Box (sigh, looking at that review I see Mr. Kitty was getting 6 drops a day in each eye – now it is 8 in one eye and 12 in the other). I have a bad track record with umbrellas (as in, I lose them) so I am putting this in my car so I always have a backup. You can never have too many umbrellas. This one appears to be of the same quality and the other one is still going strong after almost a year. (This is designed by the folks at Bing and Frey on Etsy.  There is some lovely art there, though it is a bit expensive!)

Kitties below!

Angus likes boxes a lot. All boxes. In the first photo, he is in a random Amazon box. I just keep the larger ones in the dining room for him to play in.

Madison hasn’t been in a very good mood lately. At least he is ON the bed instead of under it.

Monkey with the mop toy. Actually, Monkey would make a pretty good mop with all that fur. He picks up dust bunnies and everything.

Sorry about the weird lighting. Here is Sneaky with the mop toy. She actually preferred the umbrella but I couldn’t get a good photo of her with it.

Mr. Kitty sleeps in the sunny window.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $78 for the March 2017 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. Although I had to take all the prices from the information card, the overall value seems reasonable to me. (Even if you think something is inflated a bit, I still think you are getting more than your money’s worth.) You can’t get these items anywhere else, and they will all definitely get used. This was a pretty good month for me from Cat Lady Box.

This is my first. After reading your reviews Ragan, I decided to try this box.
I love it. Fiona really likes her umbrella toy, and I’m looking forward to the next rainy day. I’m going to keep this umbrella at work in my office. I think I’m going to pile some scarves in the tote. I also think it would be ideal in the bathroom with some stacked toilet paper rolls or wash cloths tucked in. So I’m really excited to be part of this box. Thanks Ragan.

This is my first Cat Lady box and I am very happy! Washed the t-shirt last night, and wearing it now. Soft, comfy, cute! I have a border of fun signs in my kitchen, and one sign says, “You had me at Meow.” So obviously this box and me, we’re meant to be! Love the umbrella, actually needed one. Cute tote, but not very sturdy for my 5 boys and 2 cats household… plus I already have a cute, sturdy tote for kitty stuff. Mine might go up for swap. My 2 Siamese kitties aren’t into the toys. My 18 mth old usually loves anything with catnip, but no interest in these. The 11 mth old isn’t into catnip at all. Thoughts? I might exclude cat toys next month.

Angus is 11 months old (or close to it) and he loves everything. Catnip toys, various rugs, my shoes, my dirty laundry, cords, etc. He will play with literally anything. Today he batted a frozen blueberry around on the kitchen floor. Yesterday he had a great time with a toy from Cat Lady Box from two months ago. But if your cats aren’t responding to the toys, I would say yeah, maybe exclude the toys for the future. I usually find that everything gets played with, but I also have a lot of cats.

I think this is one of my favorite boxes since I’ve been subscribing (which has been a while!) I already have the t-shirt on-it’s so soft and comfortable! I love the umbrella-I think they are so cool and unique (and who can’t use another umbrella!) The bin will be great for the millions (yes millions!) of cat toys hanging around! I don’t know what it is about the cat toys in this box but my cats LOVE them. They play with these more than any others! Must be the powerful catnip 😉 All in all a fun box!

I can’t help reading the reviews despite the fact that my box arrives after yours. Am never disappointed, though. Love this box to bits!

I am tempted to sign up just for that t-shirt! So cute!

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Thank you for the meowvelous review, Ragan and kitties! Great pictures of everything! I’m glad you liked it all, and I hope you can definitely wear the shirt!

Maybe we should have included a Monkey in each box so people could keep their floors clean! 😉

As always, I love seeing the pictures of the cats enjoying their toys 😻
I’ve been subscribing to this box since September, and most months I’ve really loved it. This month feels a bit of a dud to me, though. While the items look well made, the combination of umbrella, t-shirt, and canvas bag/bin just feels like a “thank you for supporting public radio” gift. Oh well. The cat toys are cute!

Reply ButtonReply

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Hah! We hadn’t thought of that. We were going for a “Spring Dreams” theme… like spring cleaning, rain showers, and colors! 😉

Jay

Dorian, thanks for the reply! I didn’t mean to throw shade with my public radio comparison (but you see it, right?). I totally get the theme ya’ll we’re going for this month, and while umbrellas and canvas bins don’t get me excited at all, I’m glad that so many others are. Every month won’t be a hit with everybody. I’m looking forward to seeing what you choose for April’s box.

P.S. My favorite Cat Lady Box items so far have been the hair pins and the hoodie with cat ears from the January box. I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve gotten when I wear them!

KC

I am loving the useful and colorful items! The bin is now the catch-all in my home office, so Beastie can finally have her oh-so-attractive Amazon box back. 🙂

Jennifer

Ragan- Have you ever tried that wine for cats? I’m debating getting some, but not sure how my two boys would like it. lol

Ragan

Yes, look at the last Whiskerbox review here, from February (I think). Have had it a few other times but that is the most recent one I remember.

Monkey thinks it is the best thing ever. He won’t let the other cats near. Well, Angus got near for a second and splashed it all over the floor. Not sure how interested the other cats are because they didn’t really get a chance to try it.

Jennifer

Awesome!v I’ll check that out. 🙂

Laura

We don’t get any of the boxes, Sage is on a restricted diet and has zero interest in toys, but I LOVE your reviews and always read them 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

What Ragan said! You can do the regular CatLadyBox option, which is just the stuff for people! 🙂 I hope you’ll get to try us out, Laura!

Ragan

This box never has treats. You can opt to get a version without the toys, too.

Randi

I LOVE that bin!

Yay! Thanks, Randi! We were so excited working on this one, and so excited to share it with everyone!

any chance the bin will be for sale in your shop? I’m thinking I could use a couple of them 🙂

I don’t have cats, or even particularly like them but I always love this box. I wish these guys would do one for crazy dog mama’s 🙂

I don’t have a kitty either, 3 dogs here, but I have a grandkitty lol and am tempted to order this box. Cute stuff in these boxes!
